CHAPTER 119~3RD PERSON’S POV~“My lord, we managed to sneak these two out of the Montgomery mansion. We’re not sure if they’re the ones, but they resembled Miss Gabriella’s description the most,” one warrior wolf among three said. They were the ones who were sent to kidnap Gabriella’s friends.“Gabriella? Is she here? Was she the one who sent you guys?” one of the females asked. Both had black bags over their heads, and their hands were tied behind their backs.Gabriella stepped out of the mansion a few minutes later and walked through the gardens until she made it to where Derren sat. She saw the two girls on their knees, and Derren sat in front of them with his legs crossed, holding a glass of orange juice in his right hand.“Who are these?” Gabriella asked.“Gabriella? Is that you? Please tell these large men not to kill us; we haven’t done anything wrong." One of them spoke again, trying to break free from the ropes.“Marian? Lily?” Gabriella exclaimed in shock. She rushed toward
CHAPTER 120~3RD PERSON’S POV~After Anaya had spoken, one man from the crowd got up, picked up a mic, and asked, “My Lady, with all due respect, what in the world are you talking about?” His name was Gerald, and he was a governor.Another man got up after and said, “Yes, we understand that the werewolf world has its occasional wars in the constant struggle for power and dominance, but why do we humans have to get involved?"“This isn’t just about the werewolves. The threat I speak of is one that could end all life as we know it, and I need all your assistance to stop it,” Anaya said.“First you deny humans the chance to lead the council, and now you need our help? You can count me and my people out,” Gerald said, then put down his mic. He was about to leave the meeting room when Anaya suddenly yelled.“SIT DOWN!"Gerald turned around to face Anaya, and she continued, “You should be very careful with the choices you make, all of you. I have enough information to bring every single one
CHAPTER 121~3RD PERSON’S POV~“So, you two were Gabriella’s friends when she was still with the Montgomery family?” Anaya asked, staring at Lily and Marian at the dinner table.“Yes, my lady. I started working at the mansion when I was six years old, and Maria started when she was seven. A few months later, we met Gabriella and became inseparable,” Lily said, turning to lady Anaya.“Oh, so you were there before Gabriella came?” Anaya asked.“Yes, my lady. Gabriella’s appearance in the mansion came as a surprise to everyone, though. There was no news of her mother being pregnant or that she had given birth. She just one day revealed Gabriella was her daughter,” Marian answered.“Before Gabriella’s arrival, did Noah and Aralynn Montgomery have any other children?" Anaya asked.“No, she didn't; in fact, she was thought to be barren until Gabriela’s arrival. She had a second child after Gabriella, and for some reason, her attitude toward her changed. She reduced Gabriela from the princes
CHAPTER 122~3RD PERSON’S POV~Gabriella stood quietly on the balcony of Anaya’s building. She had a blank expression on her face and seemed to be lost deep in her thoughts. “Having the memories of my second personality, I can feel all the emotions he felt on his adventures with that little girl named Margret. It makes me yearn even more to leave this mansion, but the barrier is still up, so I’m still stuck in here." Steven’s voice sounded in her head.“Well, at least you’re stuck in here with me; isn’t that a good thing?” Her voice followed.“Yeah… it is."She could clearly remember Steven's smile when they had this conversation. She let out a sigh and closed her eyes. “You miss him, don’t you?” Maria’s voice sounded from beside her. Gabriella immediately turned to her right and found Maria staring down at the gardens.“Maria, you’re here,” Gabriella said.“Yeah, I thought I’d drop by and have a little chat; there’s hardly any females where I and Derren stay,” Maria replied. She mo
CHAPTER 123~3RD PERSON’S POV~Steven sat in his office, flipping through the pages of his grandfather’s book. He read through everything again and again, trying to find a loophole or a way they could stop the Half of darkness without harming Gabriella. He finally made it to the missing page. He stared at the page for a moment, then flipped past it and through the empty pages until he was at the end of the book.He examined the last page for a moment and noticed a brown stain at the top left corner of the page. He brought it closer to his eyes to see what it was, and he accidentally took a whiff of the page’s scent.“Is that… lemon? How did lemon juice get on my grandfather’s book?” Steven asked with a confused expression on his face. He thought for a moment, then turned to the candle on his table. He reached for the candle and brought it closer to the book. He turned the last page over in the candle flame and moved the book around so the heat of the candle would reach every corner.A
CHAPTER 124~3RD PERSON’S POV~“Just walk past the civilians casually and try not to attract too much attention,” Derren said. He was speaking with Anaya through telepathy, an ability all the alphas had. It was a way for the alphas to know who was in their pack and who wasn’t.“Don’t order me around; I wish not to jeopardize the mission as much as you do,” Anaya murmured as she walked through the crowd, keeping her head down.“Sorry, please proceed to the VIP section; the guard there would ask for your personal information, but because they are humans, they shouldn’t be able to notice you walk past them if you completely turn off your aura,” Derren said.“That actually works? I’ve never done that before,” Anaya asked, staring at the guards in the VIP section. “Well, it’s kind of like disappearing. The humans won’t be able to sense your presence, even when you’re in the room. They can’t smell you, and they won’t be able to notice you if they’re looking away. So wait for the right mome
CHAPTER 125~3RD PERSON’S POV~Anaya, Derren, and his warrior wolves rushed across each passage, bursting through the large metal walls and cutting straight through the maze. They had run for a while, but the center was still a little far in. The maze was a complicated series of turns that went from sharp turns to curves. “How far is the center supposed to be?” Anaya asked.“Not sure, but we should be there in a few minutes,” Derren replied.“Alright, the closer we get to the center, the more I feel like there's something big waiting for us there. If we actually find a serum that can make werewolves human, destroying the experiment might not be enough,” Anaya said.“You mean... we might have to kill Queen Elizabeth?” Derren asked.“Yeah. If we don't, she’ll just end up starting the experiment again,” Anaya answered.“There’s something that bothers me,” Derren said.“What’s that?” Anaya asked.“Well, it really doesn't matter now since we're cutting straight through the maze. This place
CHAPTER 126~3RD PERSON’S POV~“You can't do this to me and get away with it,” Elizabeth said as she levitated off the ground. The blackish-green aura that burned around her caused the entire facility to shake.“What the hell? She's not human?” Derren asked, shocked."Clearly, she's not. Most probably a witch like Mary, but I can't help but feel like something is wrong somewhere,” Anaya said, staring at Elizabeth.“What do you mean?” Derren asked.“Elizabeth is like a child to me. I've given her everything she's ever needed and even helped in her campaign to become the queen. The Elizabeth I know, would respect my wishes without thinking about them; she would lay down her life for me. Elizabeth basically worships me. That's why It came as a shock when Michael said she was working to destroy the werewolves. All this lying and betrayal... it just doesn't seem right. Something doesn't add up,” Anaya said.“We can figure that out after we've left here alive,” Derren said. He and his warr
