CHAPTER 102

ARIA

The sky was clearing up, becoming brighter and brighter but I was no where close to being around the borders. My feet were weak and bloody. I had a lot of cuts and bruises as a result of stepping on the thorny plants. It didn't help that it rained and now the fresh muddy soil seeped into my cuts. I discared my two cloaks for they had gotten much heavier from the rain. Fresh warm blood spat out of my re opened wound, creating a red coloured map on my sleeping gown. I ached all over but I still walked on, with shallow breaths and clouded dizziness and no soul cared. I was passing through the villagers but none of them stopped to help me with my condition. They just watched me, whispered amongst themselves and went on with their daily lives.

I happened to remember the stall of an old man I was kind to at the beginning of my reign as I walked. I navigated my way with difficulty to the stall in the market and climbed into his stall. He looked startled at first, his eyes enlarging as h
