Ten years later..VERONICAMy grandma does tell me stories, stories about werewolves, while I listen with all I've got. She has told and retold the same story to me, and all I keep wondering is when the little goddess will finally be born, or, at the very least, if it were to come true, when someone will rescue us from the shackles of fear. Every day we wake up knowing full well that we could be preyed on before the day ends, yet there is nothing we could ever do.We live in an abandoned underground, just me and my grandma. Every other one of my kind lives either in some other underground or somewhere that's hidden enough. We hid from the Lycans during the day and from both the Lycans and vampires at night. My grandma used to tell me that werewolves were also as powerful and had magic as well, but after the Lycans suddenly invaded our land and killed as much as they could, they kept some of us captive in their land. The children who were not yet able to get their wolves remained wolfl
VERONICA "I ask, what are you?" The man repeats, "He forced my face to look at his." But I still avoid his direct gaze. "Let me go," I mutter."Open your eyes," he says harshly, like he would use his claws to tear my body apart if I didn't look up to him. I have no other option but to look at him. His golden-glowing eyes peer into mine. "You are not a human, are you?" I can sense it. Your scent..." He whispers, and then his face is all over me like he is trying to get familiar with a scent. He kept on sniffing as if he were perceiving something. I manage to break free from his grip and take to my hills. I run as fast as I can, jumping fences at the few places they exist, until I get to our hideout. I move quietly inside, calming my nerves down before going to meet grandma. "I am back, grandma." I say throwing myself on her while she wraps my back in a hug."I became really worried, Vorenica." "What took you so long to come back?" "Nothing grandma. I will prepare the meat that I
VERONICA.Too late for me, as I stepped out, I noticed that our hideout has been surrounded by men with lamps in their hands. Many people were held hostage; I feel they searched every other house before stopping at mine. I see a man approach me; he looks exactly like the man I escaped from earlier. "You won't run again; don't worry; you can't even if you wish to," he mumbles. His voice is the same as the man I bumped into; there is no doubt he is the one. He seized my hands and tied them both to my back, and then he bundles me into a trunk with the others. I feel like something is repeating in my life.I remember grandma; I will never forget how she died. And why she did that, I still can't figure out, especially why I suddenly was able to mind- link her. Although she wasn't my real blood, she took care of me and treated me like her real granddaughter. We were isolated by people. Everyone calls her a witch, including me, the daughter of a witch. I cared less and paid deaf attention
VERONICAI hold my clothes tight with my last strength. Everyone stares at me precisely, wondering what gave me the nerve. Honestly, I don't know what gave me this audacity, but whatever it is, it should also not let me die at the hands of this Lycan. "Let me go... you monsters," I scream, and I move away from the vampire. Tears clouded my vision as I stood. Inwardly, I am too scared to even breathe properly, but how I put up with the act of acting strong is one thing I don't know of."You are the stubborn one, huh?" "Kill her," he orders. My heart sank to my belly. Grandma died for me to live... And all I could do to keep her last request was to get myself killed? The fear of my blood being sucked until I drop dead on the cold, bare floor creeps up on me and hunts me.I shiver and move backwards with each of the vampire's approaching steps. I hear the Lycans call him Mike. He kept on moving until I got to my dead end. I was trapped by the crooked wall. I see a glimpse of a smile acro
VERONICAI shift my gaze away from him while he still looks at me with his furrowed brows. He surely has met me somewhere, but I can swear this is the first time I have seen his face in my entire life. "Who was blaring about food a while ago?" He finally got hold of himself and asked questions. Everywhere was dead silent as his deep, authoritative voice echoed. Even the growls and noises I hear from the other rooms have seized. I looked around to witness the accusing glare everyone gave me. I try to remind them with a coded signal from my face expression that "I did it all for us" and so they should not hand me over to him. "The girl over there, with the long hair and oval face," one chubby girl points at me. I knew I had long hair, but I never knew my face was oval; I always thought it was just a circle. After all, I have only had the opportunity to look at my reflection in not very clean water. I swallow hard, trying to hide my face. It wasn't so difficult for me to get caught.
VERONICAI've always despised Lycans, and the mere thought of falling in love with one made me want to retch. For years, I searched for my mate in silence, praying that the moon goddess wouldn't pair me with a Lycan. But fate had a twisted sense of humor. Now I find myself stuck with a Lycan man who seemed to be infatuated with me. I can't stand the sight of him, but I know I could use him to accomplish my mission."What the hell do you think you're doing?" I snarled, my voice filled with fury as I push him away from me. "What am I doing? What's wrong with you?" he shot back, his voice deep and masculine, his face etched with annoyance. "Why did you let yourself get dragged to my father, and why didn't you postulate in front of the king?"For a moment, I felt like a toddler being cautioned by her father. My heart is blank. I don't know whether I should hate him more or just a little less. "What's the meaning then?" "Meaning of what?" He replied impatiently. I can't even bring my
VERONICA"This is your room." "Stay here with your little puppy," Grimgor says, standing up to leave."Little puppy?" Alice," he answers reluctantly, and then walks towards the door.I feel grateful that he let me stay with the little girl. I can't even imagine how cruel her life can ever get since she lost her mother this very night as well.He slams the door behind him. Although not too loudly. The room wasn't too fashionable, like the one we stayed in to eat. It was just the perfect room for a rich man's slave. Not as shabby as where I lived and still not as standard as Grimgor's room, or whatever that was. I'm just realizing that the room is just opposite mine!I lay the bed down with the bedsheets and duvets that are on it. The room is also a bit dusty. I have to clean everything up before doing anything else. Alice helps out in the little way she can. After the whole little chore, I made a warm bath for her and then made her sleep comfortably on the bed.Remembering the whole e
VERONICAI stop once I feel the cold, rough surface of the wall behind me. My heart races as I try to keep my voice steady. "I don't know what you're talking about," I stutter. The man in front of me, whom I assume to be Prince Ezra, narrows his eyes. "Don't lie to me," he growls. "Why were you lingering around the castle?"I glance around, panicking, hoping someone will come to my defense.Fortunately, Prince Grimgor did, but not in the way I expected. "Leave her be!" he screams, standing between us. "She's with me."Ezra sneers. "Brother, don't be foolish. Or mad at me" He places his hands on his brother's shoulder. "I'm just doing a quick investigation. You don't expect me to turn a blind eye to a stranger lurking around the castle, do you?"My guess was right; this man is Grimgor's brother. But why were they fighting against each other? I watch as they glare at each other with fierce looks that send chills down my spine. If I ever had a sibling in my whole lifetime, I would have t

KING GRIMGOR'S POVIt's been ten years since I and Veronica have been together. Today was our wedding anniversary.Ten whooping years wasn't easy, but guess who made it easier, Veronica? No, not just twins; we also have another. Baby girl,. I guess we will call it a wrap.I always knew that Veronica was like a moon goddess sent to earth. Her powers were so great that everyone from different packs and clans came to seek her out.Josh stands in the garden holding a flower. He is so much like me. No. He was just me when I was much younger. He was incredibly smart. More than I was. He was already talking about meeting his wife and loving her more than I loved his mother.I doubt there is a greater love than the one I have for Veronica."What are you doing staring at your son, daddy? I thought I was your favorite?" Judy said. I wonder how long she was standing and staring at us both. The last I remembered, she was there with her brother, picking flowers in my mother's garden."Oh, my baby.
Four years later.,"Judy!" I called my four-year-old girl. She ran as fast as she could and got to my room, only for her to withdraw.Yes, mummy," she answered, quietly seeing the mess she caused in my room."What the Fuck did you do to my room?" I asked. There is no need to be sure whether she was really the culprit. The expensive lipstick Grimgor got for me when he went to Italy was all over her face."Mom!" "Answer me." She looked at me like she would rather walk out than answer."You are using the F word, mommy," Judy said. I bit my lips from the inside. I could easily make a mistake in front of Josh, and he will let me be."Come here, bring your butt. You need some serious spanking!" I went towards her, but the little... (opps, I promised not to abuse her again)... Ran away for me to chase her.I did, and I was going to give her more than just a spank when I caught up with her.Judy knows the right direction to run. She stopped at her father's feet, smili
In a place we're they was nothing but darkness emerged two bright lights. Each light show brighter than the sun itself ."Damn. Where is that bloody fellow" Ezra muttered to himself looking around ad the whole vampires that gathered where seeking for a refuge to hide themselves away from the lights. "Where is he?. Your boss I mean" he said again with all seriousness. But got no response. It was weird for both him and sam that the vampire king didn't show up..Some men managed to pose for fight against them. "Drop your swords helpless fellow, yes I will kill you all but at least I wanted it to be a painless death" Ezra bragged. He haven't fought for a while though because his over protective brother would not want him to get hurt. But even with all that, he still wasn't so much pressured because he has always being as good as grimgor. The men still insisted on fighting even with the light that was almost burning their skin. Probably to buy time before the vampire king will come.
The D-Day.Everyone was already prepared for the day. Even those who were aware of what was going on and those who were not aware all felt the absolute quietness in the palace."Are you ready?" The former king, Friedrich, asked his son, who was dressed in his royal kingship attire,"Yeah, I guess," Grimgor said with an assuring smile. At that moment, he was thinking about how Veronica would react to waking up without him beside her."Let's go. Then," Fridolf said, taking the lead. King Grimgor hesitated a while before following him steadily behind his back.As they made their way through the dimly lit corridors of the palace, the weight of the impending ritual hung heavily in the air. The torches along the walls flickered, casting eerie shadows that seemed to dance with every step they took. Both father and son were lost in their thoughts, contemplating the challenges that lay ahead.King Grimgor couldn't help but feel torn between his duty as the ruler of the kingdom and his personal
King grimgor...Day one. One more day, and everything will end. Just that I might end with it also.Today, everything has been put in place. Our plans were being perfected, ready to be unleashed.I had to spend the whole day with my wife. That's why I made it free.I lifted the dumbbell weight for the hundredth time. I breathed heavily before dropping it to the side."What are you staring at, sunshine?" I watched Veronica lose herself in thought with her hands on her jaw.I have dragged her to work out with me.Dragged out, meaning that I had to carry her out of the bed before she ended up here. She answered sluggishly the first two times I called her to come to me, but the third time, I didn't wait for her to respond. I just lifted her from the bed and made her wear sportswear."How does this seem so easy to you?" She asked after a long while."Easy? Not really so easy, but since I made up my mind to carry it, I did."Why don't I try? . Okay. Let me make up my mind." Veronica closed
Day one..Author's pov....There was news going around. Unfortunately, it had to skip King Grimgor and his ally. It was intentional.I overheard Viktor saying something to Grimgor's father. I was his secretary, so I know a lot more than I should. I never intended to eavesdrop.Never! But it just happens.Okay, today I was about to get a call across to the former king, King Ferdinand, when he asked me to stand outside and wait a little while."Do you suggest I stay put and watch all this, Viktor? What if things go wrong and my son ends up dead?" I was just outside when I heard"No, not really, my king. I trust your son, and he is not used to failing, so this won't be a lot for him like you think," a voice responded, whom I suppose to be Viktor.I know at this point I am supposed to walk out, but...I didn't walk out.Don't get me wrong, please. I don't eavesdrop on my seniors; I just couldn't walk out on such an interesting topic.I fvcking couldn't."You know how Aradumus could be?
KING GRIMGOR.Day Two..Two days for the ritual, and we are making just a little progress. I am worried after all this, and I just hope I do survive to take care of Veronica and our child."Your majesty, I found someone already." These words were soothing. We didn't want to invite an external body into our affairs, and it made it difficult to find someone except my brother and Sam, who volunteered. I don't want to lose any of them at all."Perfect. " I heaved a sigh of relief. "Now all we have to worry about is the plan being successful", I said while swinging my sword in the air.I had to get myself ready too. I don't know how he himself is getting ready for all of this, but either I win or we both end up dead."Won't you at least rest a little, my king? You have a wife to look after," Sam suggested. I stared at him, knowing fully well that he doesn't understand the weight of this whole thing."No rest for winners; I never planned to lose," I said. Lodging my sword on him, which he a
VERONICAI wouldn't just easily believe that the news I heard was about me, I cannot just be pregnant. It should be a good news after all I am married and my father in law has used the fact that I have no child yet as a base to taunt me.."I lay down, touching my stomach and wondering if my baby could hear me. Now, I just have to be sensitive of words I say so it would not feel that I love him less. Yes him, I actually want a baby boy. I never had a brother although not a sister as well. I don't really know how things will turn out next. "You should get going. Don't delay your work because of your pregnant wife. At least now that my sickness has being defined. It should be a normal thing for us" I said to grimgor. He needed a way to tackle his issue with the vampire king and I needed some space to tackle mine with his father. He seemed to be happier after hearing the news. His mouth refused to close properly as he just smirks now and then probably fantasying holding our baby's ha
