Her fate

Lilian's POV.

"You have no right to judge me just because of my past, and I am here as your client and to patronize you not to get some marital advice from you," I said aloud being frustrated and tired of hearing the same sermon from the market ladies. I know I have bad stars when it comes to being mated but common it is not my choice and I never choose for my loved ones to die just because they love me.

"I am only trying to help you and help you see the world from another perspective, and I think you need to aid this," the market lady said to me.

I looked at her, feeling disgusted and pissed off. My look must have given that vibe to her, as she shut her mouth immediately after she said that. But wait! Is my condition now known to everyone in the pack? I have never met this lady, and yet she is asking me to seek the council of the moon goddess, something is wrong somewhere.

The thought propelled a devious anger in me and I just walked out of her store as angered as I was, I made my way to another store looking for something nice to wear for the coming moon anniversary of the pack. As I kept looking around the pack seeking if I could get anything to hear what the woman had said kept ringing in my mind and I could not let but agree that she was right.

It is the fifth mate I will have, and they all die a few weeks after we bond and then are back to being single again, maybe I am indeed cursed as I am being tagged by them. If I don't curse what can make all my lovers die without anything wrong with their health, I must be the problem here.

Then I looked up from across the street in a shop. I saw a red dress placed on display glass, it seemed as just it would fit me. I decided to check it out and then out of nowhere a horse rider rode past me and almost knocked me down. I was destabilized, and I tried my best to avoid being run over, and luckily I avoided it only to fall into a small pot of mud on the street. The people in the area started laughing at me, I looked at them and hissed, "You all want me to curse you?" I asked them, and then they stopped laughing and faced their various situations.

Possibly there is a positive part of being a witch, I stood up and saw that only a few parts of my dress were stained, it makes no difference, there is no one that dares to stare too hard at me, or else they will be "bewitched."

I walked towards the shop and on getting there, a small girl that must have been a slave came to me with a smile on her face and there was something about it in particular that captivated me. Maybe it was her innocence, "Thanks for deciding to check out our collection ma'am, how may I help you?" she asks with a smile and a slight bow.

"What is your name?" I asked her.

"Lucy, ma'am"

"Okay, Lucy, I would like that red robe being displayed over there," I said as I pointed to the dress that captivated my sight. A lady in her average 20 came out of nowhere and attended to me. "Lucy, you can continue with the cleaning, I will take it up from here," the lady said.

Lucy nodded and then left, "Am sorry my ladybug that is not for sale anymore, and I think you should leave her as soon as possible" the lady said to me as if she was trying to push me away.

"Why is it still on display then?" I asked her.

"That is just a mistake on our side and I still want you to leave her as soon as possible, we have the holy water prepared every morning just in case," The lady said.

"You don't think that works, do you?" I asked her with a smirk, trying to assume the post at which she just created for me.

"Well, I know just what fits you and I will get that for you," the lady said, and then she rushed into a room, and she came with a bag with some dress that seemed to be made out of wool, and they gave the vibe of being ancient.

I looked at the lady with a questioning look, "They bring good luck and I think you need that right now" The lady replied to my look, and then she smiled as if she had accomplished what seemed to be her lifetime goal.

"This is a joke to you?" I asked her.

"Just meaning to please your ma'am"

"Seems you would like to have some of your mates dead too," I said with a grin on my face, and then I patted her as if I was comforting her.

She fell on her knee, "I am sorry, Please I am still young and not ready to go through the trauma, I will never let this happen again, and I will not mock you again, Kindly pardon me" the lady begged.

"Get your act together and let me take a look at that dress," I said, pointing to the dress I came for.

The lady rushed to get it and I checked it out. After I was pleased with the look I paid for the dress and tipped Lucy, she seemed happy, and I am glad that at least I made someone alive happy.

On getting out, I saw some horsemen and some swordsmen moving around, and then I remembered that an Alpha Wolf from Red Locket Pack; Alpha Hayden would be visiting today. I have always heard about his handsomeness and the way he leads his people, and this is just an opportunity to know and confirm how he does look. The swordsmen walked before the horsemen, and after the horsemen was the chariot carrying the Alpha. I could see some of our pack soldiers forming the line to make a boundary for the pedestrians, so I stepped forward and close to the soldiers, so I could have a better view.

The carriage suddenly stopped to the surprise of everyone and then out of it came none other than Alpha Hayden dressed in his purple robe with the tip lined with golden linen, the vibe of wealthiness. I froze at the moment and could not explain what I just felt.

"Did I just feel my wolf try to break out? Is this happening again…? Am I mated to him too …? Is he dying too?" I asked myself.

Before anything can happen I have to leave this place" I said to myself, and then I turned around and started to walk away from the scene.

"Hey lady, stop walking away and turn around back here," A commanding voice said behind me. The voice seemed to be the one controlling the inner me, the wolf inside me made me tremble on the spot.

"No, no, no… this is not happening again."

I turned around and faced him, "Come here… I have something to say with you" Alpha Hayden said.

"Me?"
