I stared at the cabin. My eyes ran from it to Carson.

Why did the emergency call choose to come in now of all time?

“I'm sorry, I have to go,” he stepped backward.

“But Carson…” I stretched my hand as if to touch him.

A frown creased his brow, “Ashley, my dad would kill me if we lost out on this deal. And since you have insisted on doing this, I would not stop you”

I nodded. It was typical of Casting to put my happiness first. I just knew that whatever had to take him from me was definitely beyond his control.

I sighed and turned to the cabin as I heard Carson's footsteps retreating. The cabin held a certain charm that even I could not clearly describe. But aside from its charm, Jordan's album was playing in the background. It had changed to another of his songs, one that always took me to another realm every time.
