CHAPTER 4

"I try."Sage said looking at her boys with so much love.

"I invited you here for a reason."Kim said a while later."I've been seeing this guy for a while,his name is Luca."

"I take it he's spanish."

Kim nodded."I didn't think it would be serious because he's way out of my league,and besides I own a cleaning company and he's a successful lawyer who socialise with the rich but the other night he asked me to marry him and I said no."

"Kim.Why did you do that."Sage asked shocked.

"Come on Sage men such as him and Mr Romero don't date girls like us,in their eyes we only the help."Sage has never seen her boss's boss."I didn't think he was serious but he gave me the ring and said whenever I'm ready I can wear it and give him an answer."

"Do you love him if you do than nothing else matters.Right?"Sage took a drink of her tea."Does he love you?"

"He said so."Kim answered.

"And you?"

"I don't know.Maybe.Yes."Kim sighed deeply."What's not to love about him,he treats me good,makes me feel special and is always there when I need him."

"Follow your heart Kim."Sage told her."If he makes you happy then don't deprive yourself of a chance to be happy.Love always comes out top."

Kim smiled."Thank you for the talk,I needed someone to talk to."

"Apart from being my boss I consider you a friend."

"Hiring you was the best thing I ever did.I can see now why Gina loves you you're a good person and friend."

"I'm lucky to have her in my life,she's coming to visit next weekend maybe the three of us can go out and catch up."

"I'd love to.Has Sean popped the big question yet."

"No,hopefully he will soon."

"And you."Kim asked.

"What about me?"She asked back.

"Aren't you on the dating scene."

"Liam and Logan is more than I can handle,I don't need another to complicate my life they keep me busy enough.I don't want or need a man anyway I don't think they'll stick around once they'll know I have two babies."

"If he's the right one he'll accept and love all of you."

"I won't hold my breath."Sage said.

"Luca asked me to accompany him to a friend's dinner party on Saturday,come with me and please don't say no."

"I don't know Kim,you'll be attending a private event with high profile people what will I do there I won't fit in.Look at me."She waved a hand down her body."I'm so plain and dull,and don't have anything to wear for the party everyone there will be well dressed and look like they stepped out of magazine covers.I'm sorry but I-..."

"Sage come on.When is the last time you went out and enjoyed yourself,it's been ages between work and the boys you don't get time out to yourself."

"My world revolves around them and I prefer it that way."

"You need time out and I'm not taking no for an answer. Come finish up so we can go to The Oaks and buy us something to wear along with shoes and jewelry."Sage was about to protest but Kim said."We're going and that's final two hours won't hurt and don't worry about paying me back consider everything a thank you gift."Sage didn't say anything anymore,Kim took her to an expensive boutique Sage had told her there was no need but her reply had been."I can afford it."Sage loved everything inside the boutique each item is more beautiful than the last and so was the price.After the shopping she dropped them at home and left,later that night when she was preparing dinner for the boys Sean called to check up on them.

"We okay and you."Sage asked.

"Missing you guys.How are you coping?"

"Surprisingly good.I found a great nanny for them her name is Jesse and the boys love her."

"Those brats already forgot about me,I should've known I'd get replaced. Where are they?Asleep."

"No I'm gonna feed them dinner before bed,they staring at me with their round huge eyes."

"Tell them uncle Sean misses them and that I love them alot."

"They miss you too,you welcome to visit Sean anytime you want."

"I know but work is hectic at the moment I can't take time off."She could hear the disappointment in his voice."I'll let you know when I'm gonna come."

"We'll be waiting.I gotta go it's dinner time for Liam and Logan.Take care."

The lace floor length dress Kim had made her bought sat so perfectly on her when she'd first set her eyes on it Sage had fallen in love and the color burgundy was a bonus,it was plain and simple,yet elegant.Floral lace shapes a rounded neckline a princess seamed bodice with a low draping back,a flaring mermaid maxi skirt falls from a fitted waist,a hidden zip was on the side.

Sage loves the dress and she has no regrets buying it,black peep toe stiletto heels are on her feet she cannot remember ever wearing heels this high but it boosted her five feet height.Kim had done her make-up and Sage had said she would prefer for it to be light,not over the top her hair is loose and falling around her shoulders and back in thick wavy curls to finish the look she wore linear drop earrings,a teardrop bangle on her wrist and a stone clutch purse.

She cannot remember ever seeing herself look so beautiful and sensual since the arrival of the boys she had shoved her own needs aside and give them her full attention,not leaving any room for herself.The last time she'd dressed up this beautiful was the day she met Liam and Logan's dad a handsome stranger who'd stolen her breath and mesmerized her with a simple glance.

Shaking off the memory she went to check on the boys one last time,Kim had offered for them to spent the night at her home because Casey was watching the boys for her until they come back,they are still breastfeeding so she made sure to pump enough milk for them until her return but she won't stay long after dinner she was coming home.Sage knows Kim won't spent the night here she'd said so earlier on,she found Luca and Kim in the livingroom kissing they pulled apart when she came in.Smile on her face she said."No need to stop on my behalf."

Kim turned beet red."Luca.This is Sage and Sage Luca."

Sage shook his extended hand."Pleasure to meet you."She said.

"Likewise."He replied.

"I hope me coming along won't be a problem Kim-...."

"Not at all."He interrupted."A friend of mine is hosting a party to celebrate the pregnancy of his wife.They expecting twins."

"That's fantastic news,I still remember how shocked I was when I was told I'm carrying twins,they must be so excited."Sage said.

"Yes they are.Hopefully I will also be a father in the near future."Luca's eyes landed on Kim,Sage can see the love he has for her,she doesn't understand why Kim is so hesitant to allow herself a chance to be happy.

"We better get going."Kim said taking her purse,the green knee length dress hugged every inch of her body and the heels she had on made her legs seem endless,her hair was tied up.Kim had a nice slim body whereas she has curves although her baby fat is gone and her stomach is flat like it used to be,the curves stayed and it made her get unwanted attention from men especially when she goes out,that's why most of the time she stays home.

Luca drives a beautiful red jaguar and when Sage slipped into the back seat she felt slightly nervous as if something big was about to happen.Soon they drove out of Westlake Village leaving it behind,they drove on the highway for about fifteen minutes before turning left,they passed big huge beach houses with long palm trees Sage saw a Welcome to Silver lakes island sign a few minutes later.

The houses here were magnificent compared to the ones they just passed these ones are bigger with long drive ways up to the house and from the looks of it,it seems there were very few houses here,she vaguely heard Luca tell Kim there's only forty houses here on the island.
