Christiana’s point of view

“Jesus, thank you.” I found myself in a position I had never thought to be in, not in a million years. “Never, means never,” I mumbled.

But there I stood, alongside Tiger holding hand in hand. In the years that followed this, I had never been as happy as I was then. I was very happy. After my parent’s demise that was one of those days when I was dancing on air.

Yes. Thanks to the almighty.

My relationship with happiness had dwindled gradually over the years and the rest was history. In fact, after getting hitched to Tiger, I had never expected more out of our relationship. That time however when we were in Los Angeles for his friend’s engagement, two days before, I expected. Yes, I did. Know not whether I was too, but I did.

He had a plan, flights booked, and he requested me to go along with him. That request for me by his side wasn’t that affectionate. Though it was quite amiable and cheerful. I felt the warmth. That was the

Christiana’s point of view Engagement Day! It was a winter morning. The weather outside was extremely cold. I had awakened as usual early in the morning and went out for a stroll. As I went outside, I began to shiver with cold. It was piercing cold outside. Not a single bird chirped outside. Somehow, I wanted the sun beams down on my skin. Nevertheless, it was all misty and foggy. I was chilled to the marrow. Nothing was visible from distant. So, I ran for about a mile to make myself warm. But all in waste. The temperature was extremely low. I hastened back to the hotel, had a cup of black of coffee – my favorite, and got back on the bed covering myself with a quilt. “Argh!” I muttered whilst glancing at the clock. It was 8 a.m. in the morning already. My hands were benumbed with cold. My legs needed waxing. In spite of that I rushed to get the waxing strips from my bag. “What….” Too my surprise, I had forgotten to bring that. Fucking hell. Jesus. Such a waste I am. It was the eng

Christiana’s point of view I was in my deep slumber until I glanced at the clock. It was around 1:00 pm. Jesus. OH! MY GOD. “Fucking hell. I am still in my bed.”“Just, wow!” I exclaimed. “Why didn’t he wake me up, if he was already awakened?” I thought for a while. “Huh! My bad, why am I expecting anything from him?” I was still in my bed sitting there like an angry ball propelling towards anxiety, I just didn’t need it. “Is he here?” I momentarily glanced at Tiger for I wanted to confirm his presence. He wasn’t there. “Why will he even be?” I said in irritation. However, I drifted lazily from my bed while opening and closing my eyes, to gain the sunlight that slanted through the window. I was sleepy. Quite sleepy. “Ah! Soothing.” The air was sweet, birds were flying high in the sky. “I should have been at my work by now,” I murmured. Since I was back in California, I needed to get myself geared up for daily chores as usual. Nevertheless, I didn’t. “Such a mess, I am.” I regrette

  • MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE   FUCKING LOSER!

Christiana’s point of viewI sat on the terrace, so utterly alone as I watched people coming back from their work. I isolated myself from everything and accepted the night. I dread dozing off in the night and having to face another day.I didn’t know what I was doing anymore. I didn’t know what I was going to do the next day.The diary where I penned down my emotions lay next to me. The hours on endlessly. I’ve been trying my best to figure out things. But I am unable to focus. I feel inadequate, worthless, and inferior. I should have never left the school. I should not have obeyed my stepmother and taken her daily abuse, nasty behaviour, and garbage so easily. “Huh” I gasped.I am just shame. An uncouth brat. Someone who couldn’t do anything worth it in her life. Thinking about all of this was so pointless and painful, but I was helpless. A thought hissed and spitted in my head like a snake:You are a fucking loser! However, I glanced out. The night view was nothing less than a pictu

I was back from the washroom after leaving my face and hands and was about to have my breakfast when my phone rang abruptly. I step towards the table and took the phone. As I glanced at the phone; it was from my brother’s lawyer. Without any delay, I received the call.Jesus!Blessings needed.“Hello, Christiana.” He spoke.“Yes, sir. Is there any good news? Can I expect…” I asked the lawyer expecting good news to be heard from his side whilst crossing my fingers. Fingers crossed. “Ah! Christiana…”“Christiana, what sir? I asked him while interrupting. I was so worried that I didn’t let him complete his sentence. Ironical. I was the one who wanted to hear him as soon as possible, and I was the only one who didn’t let him complete what he was about to exhibit. “Well, Christiana, I understand you are inquisitive and worried. But take a pause and let me speak too.” He spoke.“Oh, yes!

  • MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE   AWKWARDNESS

Third person’s point of view“I hate travelling. Nevertheless, I am not regretting.” Tiger muttered. “Ah, a hectic day. I had to meet James away from my mansion. I could not afford Christiana to know about our meeting and the rest of the facts. I just cannot.” He added further while nearing the mansion.Meeting James after a month was nothing less than happiness. Tears of joy rolled down my eyes. All these months he had kept me updated with the needs of Christiana. It was he who was in constant touch with me and kept me informed about things related to Christiana’s brother, Abraham. Right from Christiana’s appeal to meet Abraham in jail to the petition that she applied to the higher court. Also, he was the very person who said to me about Tiger’s need for money. Tiger was overwhelmed and contented. He contemplated quietly.“Well, it is just 8. I am not that late. Though I am tired.” Tiger thought for a while returning.“Should I ask Christiana about the case and petition? Or should I

It was pretty clear from his face that there was something he wanted to say. Yes. I could feel that. But what was it?” After doing a few of the chores, I sat on Tiger’s couch, staring at him. Expecting he would exhibit then. But all in vain. Nevertheless, I thought of initiating the conversation myself. “Huh!” “Tiger!” I called Tiger, finally.“Christiana!” Amazed. I was utterly amazed when I heard Tiger calling me at the very moment when I called him. We paused for a while whilst locking eyes and got engrossed in each other. Those few minutes were nothing less than heaven. Those eyes! Angelic eyes. Gleam. Dazzling. Dazzling eyes glistened in the light and were a real show-stopper. Ironical. Quite Ironical. Jesus! Oh, my god. I grinned.“Did you just?” Surprised. Quite surprised. I was surprised by what took place. Unusual.“Yes, d

Christiana’s point of view What should I be doing? Should I just consider him, just because he requested me to be present alongside him during the event? Or should I just skip the thought of going there, keeping the recent escapades on my mind? Tough job! Very. Very. Very. I should forget everything and focus on the present. If not personal, I should contemplate about things through the lens of professionalism. Yes. I need to go. No matter what, I need to be present there. I just cannot let him down. Just because of me his image will be hampered. And I cannot afford to do so. “There are so many things I should be doing right now other than thinking about the past. What should I be doing?
