Chapter 23

Jake and Charlie made their way into the trailer to meet with Lulu.

When they got in, she stood up briefly to welcome them into her home.

The place betrayed last minute efforts to put things in order, but it was a good thing that she at least thought of what guests thought of her home- when she wasn’t high.

Lulu’s hair looked like it hadn’t been washed in weeks, Charlie suspected that the funny smell that seemed to linger on in the room came from Lulu.

She sat back down into her recliner after offering them a seat in the two of the rickety chairs in her room.

Charlie noticed that she had been knitting and was a little surprised.

But it’s ok for drug addicts to have a hobby she thought.

“Hi, I’m agent Spencer and this is agent Brown.” Jake said when they had sat down.

“I’m Lulu, nice to meet you.”

“It’s a fine bunch of rascals you got there Lulu.” Jake said after they had sat down.
