(Serena's POV)

"What happened?" Marcus's furrowed brows met mine. His confused eyes were fixated on the scattered pieces of glass on the floor, a meter away from his indoor slippers.

I rolled my eyes. "Dropped by your gorgeous Aunt." I honestly replied before examining the cut on my thumb.

It's only a small cut and bleeds a little but the pain is endurable. Nonetheless, I strode to the kitchen sink to clean my small wound. Instead, Marcus continued cleaning the mess.

After a few seconds, I was suddenly lifted into the air. "I'm sorry, let me treat that." He carried me in his masculine arms.

I automatically wrapped my arms around his neck. "Why are you apologizing?" I questioned.

"Because they're bullying you again."

His jaw tense while not meeting my eyes. He must feel guilty because it's his family who throw words at me but I'm really feeling fine.
