chapter 5

Gideon

“ Fuc*,” I cursed as soon as the car reached the blue moon packs territory. The stench smell of rogues hit my nostrils. They were one step ahead of me.

“ Highness,” Daro said as soon as he pulled the car through the main gate of the pack.

Opening the door of the car I got out and immediately my body went stiff when a pleasant scent but it was mixed with blood made my mind almost clouded. I knew what it was and I knew what it meant. After all these years.

“ Your highness,” Daro said, pulling me out of my trance.

“ Mate!!!” My lycan and me both declared before rushing towards the scent.

“ Sh*t,” I heard daro, cursing following me behind as well as a few of my men.

please be all right, i sent a silent prayer for her well being because running through the mass destruction that they created was enough for anyone to think that there is no one alive. My heart pounded violently in my chest when I reached the spot and owner of the scent.

They were brave and fought with the lycan and the rogues when they were not a large pack like others. There were more numbers of members that survived the attack.

“ Your highness,” Alpha Alexandre me when he saw my men working with the rest of the pack members to clean the mess.

His words fell on deaf ears as I was rooted looking at my mate who was holding someone and sobbing like crazy. The way she was caressing the man's cheeks and forehead is quite unsettling for me to watch. It was ridiculous to even feel jealousy over a man who is no more but I couldn't help it.

I couldn't figure out how she looked because she was drenched in blood and mud. My eyes narrowed when I saw cuts in her body, because by now her wolf should have healed her.

“ Who is she?” I asked, still looking at her.

“ Who are you asking for,?” Alexandre asked. I looked away from her to look at him. Then I pointed my finger at her.

“ Her.”

“ She is Ava,” he said, looking at her, turning my head. I could see how his eyes softened at the sight of her. She is loved in her pack.

“ Who is that man in her arms?” I asked, turning my gaze to her.

“ My son. And her mate,” his said. My whole body tensed at his words. No wonder why she is heart broken.

I wanted to leave her to give her some time but the urge to pull her in my arms was overwhelming. I sighed before turning to Alexandre.

“ We need to talk,” I said and he nodded his head.

“ The Luna died,” Daro said through the link. Fu*k, it is going to be a hell of a job now.

“ She is my mate,” I said looking straight into his eyes.

“ Your highness?”

“ Ava is my mate,” I said again, emphasising my words. His eyes bulged at my words but he didn't say anything. After a few moments he spoke.

“ I don't know if it's appropriate or not to say this but I don't think she will be willing to go with you, your highness. It has just been a day that she found her mate,” he said, " I felt a tug in my heart feeling pity for her.

“ Where are her parents?” I inquired about him.

“ She is orphaned and was raised by us,” he said.

“ But before her parents took her in she was abandoned. And they found her in the forest at the north side of the border in the middle of the night.”

“ So we don't know if she will be able to shift or not,” he said looking at her.

“ But if your majesty wants to reject her, please do it here so we could take care of her,” he added.

“ What?” I almost lost my control hearing him say that. It has been decades since I was looking for her and when I lost all my hope I finally found her in a pool of blood. How could he think that I would reject her?

“ I apologise for my bluntness,” he said quickly.

“ When I am done I will leave and she is coming with me,” I said , letting the authority slip in my tone so that he knows not to mess it up.

“ You will earn my protection and your pack will be rebuilt,” I stated, letting him know what to do.

“ Yes, your highness,” he said. Slightly bowing his head.

Insaw him walking away towards Ava when daro came by my side.

“ What are you going to do now, Gideon?” He asked. He is my beta and my best friend just like me. He hasn't found his mate as well.

“ I will take her with me, daro. Even if it means to go against her will,” I said looking at her. Alexandre and she were having a conversation when I decided to let them have their time.

I waited in my car which was parked a bit away from the pack house. Closing my eyes I leaned on the lathered seat, hearing everything that she was doing.

“ Your highness,” Andrew said through the link.

“ I know, let her be,” I said, knowing she wasn't ready to accept any kind of help just yet.

After everything was done I waited for her by my car.

I had already talked to Alexandre to sent her stuff to my kingdom.

“ No I will not go with him,” she said loud and clear which was enough to anger my beast.

Walking to her in a fast pace I grabbed her by her waist before pulling her to my chest. As soon as our skin made contact i felt contained after a very long time.

“ of you want to see them alive, stop fighting,” I said, buring my head in her hair. And as expected she stopped struggling.

“ Good girl,” I said, before lifting her up in my arms and waking to my car. It felt amazing to hold her this close to my body. I got into my car with her in my arms.

“ Go,” I said and the engine hit the road, taking us out of the territory. I could feel her shaking inmy arms and sobbing silently.

I made her seated next to me and didn't say a word. I wanted to give her some time to move on. She looked out of the window and didn't say anything the whole way to the kingdom.
