Hello dear readers, I want to explain the power ranking in this book.
They are different potential rankings ranging from Yellow orange, red, blue, cyan blue, and black. The lowest to the highest.
The yellow is the lowest form of ranking, while the black colour is the highest ranking that is rumored to be a myth.
Sorry for the confusion from not explaining it earlier. Have a lovely day yall🥰🥰.
Vincent’s POV The lair is cold, damp, and suffocating. The scent of burning wood barely masks the staleness present in the air, and the dim torches lining the stone walls cast flickering shadows. I scoffed, wondering what Lucent was thinking in choosing this godforsaken place as a meeting point. I growled out in frustration, my wolves agreeing with me for once in years. We were both unwilling to leave the cabin. To leave the strange girl that made my heart beat wildly. “Let's go back” my wolf Vincenzo grumbled in my head, plunging me in a bout of headaches that took all my willpower not to scream out in pain.I clenched my teeth, enduring the pain as I sighted my brother.Lucent stands in the center of the room, arms crossed, silver eyes locked onto me the second I step inside. Judging from his rigid stance and the urgency that he had contacted me, I already know that the message won't be good at all.I braced for the worst.“You’re late,” he says, voice cool and measured.I ignore
Aurora povMorning came too soon. I was still tangled in my sheets, my body sore and restless, when I heard soft knocking at my door."Aurora?" Anna’s voice was muffled through the wood. "You need to wake up. Something's happening in the village."I grudgingly opened my tired eyes. My head was pounding, and my body was sore and restless. I still needed more sleep, but the shaking didn't stop, instead it became more frantic.“Aurora, something is happening to the velvet twins…”I sat up instantly, my pulse spiking. "What do you mean?"Anna’s voice was laced with urgency. "Just come outside. Now."I threw on my cloak, barely taking a moment to compose myself before rushing out of my room. Anna was already by the front door, her face pale. She didn’t speak as she led me outside. The village square was crowded. Men and women both old and young whispered among themselves, their voices filled with fear and uncertainty. I took a split moment to observe through the crowd. Everybody was clad

In pine city, the normal majority of the people were all yellow rank while over here in this dry godforsaken town, the majority were all rankless. With only scattered yellow here and there. That goes a long way in explaining how weak and pathetic the people and this town was.But one thing was for sure. Even with yellow being the lowest, the difference between someone who has no rank is like the difference between heaven and earth. The wolves are bigger, stronger, and faster healing properties than those that were not ranked. The lucky people were treated like Viper guests everywhere they went. They are those that the present world regard as first class citizens, and everywhere they go, they are regarded and respected. Then, not to talk of Orange rank. Aurora’s POVThe cold air bit at my skin as Anna and I hurried back to our house. By now, the whole village was in helter skelter following the attack of the night crawlers. My steps were unsteady, my Brain was still trying to process what had happened.I had almost lost my life to a night crawler assassination. my mind still reeling from everything that had just happened. The attack, the young Alpha’s impossible strength, and, most disturbing of all, the missing corpse, together with the Velvet Devils. They had stood there for a moment, and then next, you know it, they just vanished. It was so much a coincidence that the girls body vanished the same time they had vanished. I wrapped my arms around myself, trying to suppress the shiver that had nothing to do with the cold.Anna pushed open the wooden door to our small lodging, practically shoving me inside before bolting it shut."Did you see that?" Aurora’s POVI stepped back inside the house, shutting the door quietly behind me. The warmth inside the house did little to cause away through chills that clung to my skin. Many questions were still swarming in my mind. But as of right now, I need to settle one important case.Anna was still sitting by the fire, she has been there since I left. her pale face, immediately brightened when she saw me. Aunty Jenna, on the other hand, was pacing near the kitchen table, her hands clenched into fists at her sides.I knew that stance. It meant she was angry. From Anna's guilty face, I must have known that she had told her everything that happened. I knew that when she was angry, reasoning with her was like talking to a brick wall.Still, I had to try.I took a breath and stepped closer. “Aunty, we need to talk.”“What is there to talk about, Aurora, when you have been endangering your life since you came?” she busted out, I sighed, already dreading this. She knows. She didn’t stop pacing
Aurora pov“Lady Aurora Felta of the First Clan can not light the testing stone and is, therefore, wolfless,” the MC loud voice boomed loud in my ears, resounding deep into my soul. I can hear the distant gasp and murmuring of the surrounding crowd. It is a testament to what was unfolding before my eyes. I stared in shock at the testing stone, which is as cold as the deepest part of hades. The truth stared at me. I am wolfless. The testing stone is supposed to tell me if I have a wolf and the strength of my wolf, but there was no reaction. Which means only one thing.“Silence!” Prince 's julian voice boomed in a commanding order. The hall descended in pin drop silence.I breathed a sigh of relief. My knight in shining armor is here."From now on, Aurora ceases to be my mate. Seraphina is hereby my rightful mate and will be crowned the Luna in waiting,"Julian declared coldly, glaring at me as if I were his worst enemy. My Brain blacked out for a moment. Aurora's POVThe moment Lucent, my once love and sweetheart, rejected me as his mate, a part of me died along with his fake love.I tried convincing myself that none of it was real, that he had not been pretending to love me all this time, that everyone around me had not been pretending, especially Seraphina. I tried to find excuses for her, telling myself she was forced into this or that her father had pushed her. But seeing how close she was to the prince, it was clear their love had been blossoming long before. She knew all along. I had told her everything about me, considered her my friend, supported her, and cheered for her as she won trophies in various fighting competitions. And how did she repay me? By stealing my supposed mate and rubbing it in my face.“My lady, we have reached Greenfall,” the driver’s voice reached my ears, pulling me from my restless thoughts. nervous anticipation gnawing at me as I looked out of the carriage, wondering what awaited me.But the low expectat
Aurora povThe moment I stepped foot into Green Falls town, it felt like I had stepped foot in hell. an unexplained chill settled over me that no amount of sunshine could chase away. The beautiful surrounding of big lush green shrubs and grass was replaced by thorns and dried up withered plants. The clean and breathtaking view I had seen at the outskirts greenfall was gone, replaced by a village that seemed forgotten by time. The walls of the surrounding houses were cracked, the grases in the pathway were devoid of life and the air hung heavy with despair.I tugged my cloak tighter around me as Anna walked beside me, clutching the basket of supplies we intended to purchase. We were at the town square, where markets and business buildings were located. The people all had a “don't ask me question” expression. I noticed they minded their business, walking to their various destinations, but I could feel a tension in the air, no matter how small it is, like a shadow falling on all the peop

Aurora’s POVThe air was thick with the lingering scent of him.Even though I had disappeared into the shadows, I still felt his presence, like an imprint burned into my skin. I could still feel his possessive hold on my skin, as if he were here with me. My lips tingle from his kiss, my body betraying me despite the fear coursing through my veins.I was in the middle of a forest, alone. The fear of coming face to face with the mysterious dangerous people again made me move my legs despite being tired. He had called him the nightcrawlers. Forcing my legs to move, I pushed open the creaky cabin door, stepping into the cold embrace of the night. The forest was unusually silent. Only the sound of the wind blowing could be heard.I find it hard to believe, but I was officially lost.My hands curled into fists. If only i had obediently slept on my bed. If only I had minded my own business as a weak girl that had no power ranking would have done, maybe I would have gone to find help. But no
Aurora pov“Shit!” I exclaimed. My breath hitched as I stared at my glowing hands. A soft, pulsating light coming out from my palms, casting eerie shadows on the walls of the tiny cabin. My heart pounded violently against my ribs, I could almost hear the sound roaring in my ears. What the hell was happening to me?Why were my hands suddenly glowing like a bulb.?The naked man, no, the werewolf, stood frozen a few steps away, his electric-blue eyes locked onto my hands like they held the secrets of the universe. His brows furrowed in deep concentration, his jaw clenched tight as if he were holding back a dozen questions.I curled my fingers, desperate to make the glow stop, but it didn’t fade. Instead, it flared brighter for a brief second before slowly dimming to a faint shimmer."What the fuck was that?" He finally said something, but his voice was low but laced with something I don't know. Probably anger.I swallowed hard, my throat dry. "I...I don't know."The words felt empty, eve
Aurora povI gasped, my hand flying to my mouth. The wolf was shifting while cut in a trap. “Stop!!” I didn’t know when the word came out of my mouth. I didn’t know how it happened, but I suddenly knew that if he shifted while his leg was still trapped, he might lose his leg forever.“Do you want to kill yourself? Let me help you”The creature turned its head toward me, and our eyes met. They were electric blue, glowing with an intensity that made my knees weak. But I pushed the feeling down. Now was the time to act. Even though the extreme nostalgic feeling keeps on creeping in , like we have seen before, I know that was totally impossible. Its chest rose and fell heavily, the pain evident in its movements. It was debating whether it would accept my help or not. I almost face-palm in desperation. Even in the face of danger, the monster's pride would tower over mountains. “Let me help you?” I whispered, coming closer, my voice barely audible over the pounding of my heart. After a l
