Chapter 3

Lana’s P.O.V :

Since I met Maraya, I felt I have not seen enough things in my life. She took me shopping and for the first time, I visited a huge shopping mall, then she took me to all her favourite places. She lives here in her own place instead of living in her coven and her parents accepts it. Here their life is pretty simple and all I can feel is positivity. Her friends and family considers me as one among them, and I felt so comfortable with all of them. Its been two weeks since I came here and I was thinking about what should I do next. Maraya is a teacher in their witch’s school and the rest of them works too, either with their own people or among humans by hiding their identity of course. I was thinking about getting a job, but what kind of job I know other than being a maid. I don’t want to spend my life as a maid forever. This second chance of life, I will spend as I wished. May be I can work for a year and save some money to join college.

That evening when Maraya came home she had a biggest smile on her face.

“ Looks like, someone is very happy today !!! Did you talk with Harry ?? Or any other improvements other than looking from distance ??” I teased her. Harry is her biggest crush since that guy moved into her school as a new teacher. But due to his huge fan club and some inferiority complex , Maraya keeps away from him. But, it never stops her from dreaming about him.

She laughed and then said,

“Its not that, silly. Tell me, what is your next plan ??”

Her sudden question took me off guard. Random thoughts crossed my mind. Did she started to feel like I am a parasite ?? Or…

By reading my face, she rolled her eyes.

“Stop over thinking , Lana. You are never a burden for me. In fact, after you came here I started to spend my time here. Because I feel good when I am with you. You have no idea, you have some kind of effect on others. Even my parents told me the same about you. And you are my best friend now. I will not let you go anywhere. I was thinking you were getting bored here and you need a good start.” She confirmed,

“I am sorry, I was also thinking about the same today. I need a job. I wanted to join college and get a degree, that’s my dream. For the same, I wanted to save money , so I think I will work for an year or two and save some money.” I explained my mind to her.

“Lana, do you think I don’t have money to support you ?? I bought this house on my own and my parents don’t need my penny, they are rich enough.”

“ But, Maraya…” She didn’t let me complete,

“If you considers me as your best friend, accept this. And you can pay me later when you have enough money, ok ?? Because I have already arranged admission for you in a prestigious college in the city.” She announced it by pinching my cheeks.

I couldn’t believe what she said.

“Oh my God !! But, how ?? I mean, my certificates and all…”

“Lana, I am a witch, you can say I have connections too. So don’t worry about anything. Get ready to join by tomorrow, because this year’s session has already started last week.”

“What ?? Tomorrow ?? But, I need time to prepare and..”

“No excuses, Lana. You should join tomorrow. I have confirmed it to my friend and bought all the necessary things for you. “ She ordered like a strict mom that I couldn’t argue anymore.

“Okay, I will go. Tell me about the college ?”

I am sure she must have picked a human’s college as she know I will not get comfortable with wolves as I don’t have a wolf or pack.

She came to me and made me sit opposite to her.

“ Lana, I know you are not very much comfortable to mingle with other people or other category. But you should overcome it, otherwise you will have to live in a shell. Not every person is bad, you know that now. Don’t sit back because of what you have experienced in the past. So, be calm and listen to me. You are going to join the prestigious Kingston college, where humans along with werewolf and other more powerful people are studying together. “

“What ??!! No way I am going there.” I stood up as soon as she finished it.

“You must, and you know what, there everyone acts as human. You don’t have to worry about it. And you will go there as human. I will make sure other wolves can’t smell you like a wolf. You will be safe there as human. And when you find your wolf, you can face the world with your reality .”

Her words made me wonder, “ Do you think, I will be able to shift one day ??”

She took my hand and looked at my eyes with determination.

“Of course you will…. Lana, Even though your wolf is not out, it doesn’t mean it is not there. Others might be blind to see it, but I am not.  With the speed you healed, I know, she is inside you. And I will try my best you find her. I promise…”

I don’t know I was crying until she cleared it, I hugged her tight. I cannot thank her for everything she did and doing. She is my best friend, the angel my goddess sent for my rescue.

The next morning, I woke up early, No, I cannot lie. I hardly slept last night because of excitement. Maraya has already bough new bag , shoes, clothes and accessories for me. Maraya boosted me with positivity and gave me  a potion to hide my scent. Even though the potion tasted bad, I drank it. And I am all good to go.

Maraya dropped me to the giant open gate of the college, with the rich look, I can say, Maray might have spent enough money to get me into to this college. At that point, I confirmed that, no matter what, I will not give up from here.

As Maraya left I stepped inside, I could feel the glares from the girls I am getting and assessing eyes of the boys as well. But, I definitely couldn’t tell if these were from the wolves or the humans. After walking for a minute aimlessly, I reached at a dead end corridor. There I saw a group of girls in the corner.  I asked a girl a girl about Dean’s office. She looked at the other two girls and with a wicked smile.

“Oh poor newbie, have no idea where she came !! Saya Lets show her the right path…”

It was from a blonde girl who sat among them with the attitude of a leader. I could feel that they were trouble. That blonde came near me and turned around and whispered, “Weakling” and they laughed.

Now I know they belong to werewolves as they were the only people here with strength and they thought of me as a human. I have better hearing capacity than human, but not much as werewolves and, I lacked the sense of smell of werewolves. But, with aura, I can almost guess their power. And here I know these three were powerful and trouble too. I tried to excuse myself. Looks like, college was not any short of bullies.

“ I think I will go back the way I came. Thanks for the offer” I tried to move away, but she was faster to block my way.

“How dare you insult me ?? with the look itself, you are pathetic and you are trying to insult the queen of the college …??” She boasted.

“I didn’t know there’s a queen in this college….” I whispered in my head,

“What did you say ??” She caught me by shoulder and started to squeeze , damn looks like I whispered my thoughts, I should have known that they were just like me with super hearing capacity.

I tried not to cry or give her any kind of satisfaction.

“Miss, take your hands off me. “ I know they can’t hurt a human especially in college premises, could they ??

“What if I won’t. You have no idea about anything in here. Bitch, if you wanted to survive, better stay out of my business and never piss me off.” She seethed with anger and her eyes changed its colour for a second that made me tremble as I know she is pissed to a limit even to shift.

That moment I heard,

“Julia, What’s going on there??” I heard a feminine strong voice from behind.

“And here she comes….” Julia, the blond girl whispered and loosened her grip on me with a fake smile.

“ Hii Audrey, I was just showing the way to Dean’s office to the lost newbie. See, she is pretty much scared, poor soul” Julia said with fake attitude .

There I saw a tall girl with long curly hair standing next to me with a warm smile. With her presence and power oozing aura itself, I know she is someone important among the werewolves. Even though I was scared, I was not ready to portray myself as weak. Thus, I said,

“I am not scared, Ms. Julia. And even I was, being scared is not a choice. Everyone will have their own situation to get scared or back off, correct ??” I was aiming at her scared attitude change when Audrey came. And I know exactly that she get it as she glared at me.

Audrey had an amused expression and said,

“Ah okay, Miss… ??” she turned and waited for me to complete,

“Lana, Lana Warrenwood.” I extended my hand and she gladly took it.

“Okay, Lana, I am Audrey. Actually, I am on my way to the library which is next to Dean’s office, if you want, I can help.”

“Oh, that would be nice. Thank you.”

Audrey bid bye to Julia and took me with her. While walking we had a small talk about college, and surprisingly we get along well all the time like meeting a long-lost friend after years. When they were among students, Lana didn’t miss the surprised look among students while watching them together. After completing joining procedures, she went to the library as she was little late for first session. She heard two girls talking in distance.

“Did you know, Audrey and Julia again had some problems in the morning.”

“Even though Julia is the queen bee, Audrey gives a damn.”

“Anyways that is between those Lycans. If they heard us discussing that will be the end…”

What !!! Lycans !!! Maraya was mentioning them as the other powerful people…..!!!

Ooh Maraya, You are so dead today !!!
