******Myra's POV******
"I'm pregnant." I echoed out loud, closing my eyes momentarily as I awaited his riposte. I could remember back then when he would tell me how much he loved pooches, especially now he became Alpha of the Wildwood Pack. Minutes ticked by, yet he remained silent, not uttering a single word about my announcement. I glanced up, catching a glimpse of a frown etched on his face as he scrutinized me. "Dorian…" I drawled, a frown making its way to my face as well, "Didn't you hear me?" I asked. He scoffed, briefly looking away before locking eyes with me again, "Pregnant?" He polled, running a hand through his chestnut brown hair. "If you're carrying a child, go find the father. Why are you telling me?" At those words, my hands fell limply to my sides. I blinked, unsure of what I heard. What did he mean by going to find the father when the father was standing right before me? "Dorian, you're the father of my child. You were the only one I was with, and you took my first time." As those words left my lips, my heart pounded in my chest, anxiously awaiting his response. But instead of the usual warmth in his eyes, I saw a cold distant gaze replace it. "Myra, what are you talking about? I can't believe you're trying to pin this pregnancy on me. I refuse to accept another man's child as mine!" He spat out, his gaze filled with contempt directed at me. "Dorian! I'm pregnant for you and no one else! You took my first time, you said you loved me and you loved pooches too!" My hands trembled as I watched his face, hoping this was all a joke and he was just joking around with me. I waited for the laughter, the one that exhibited that he was just joking, but minutes passed and there was nothing. "Sorry, but I can't accept that the child is mine. You'll need to find the real father. Do you realize how much this would damage my prestige, and that of my parents? I just became Alpha a few days ago, and you want to jeopardize my position with this news?" His words pierced through my heart, poisoning my soul with their venomous sting. Each drop of denial turned my once hopeful heart into a heavy stone. It was fretting to witness the man who had once sworn his love to me a year ago now reject the possibility of being the father of my unborn child. The poundage of his concern for his reputation and that of his parents crushed many remaining sliver of hope within me. “But you're my mate..” I reminded him as tears stung my eyes. He glared at me, “If that is the reason you want to impair my name and pin another man's child on me, then it's better we go our separate ways.” “What? Dorian!” I yelled out, taking a step closer to him. He took a step backward from me as his glare amplified. “Myra, what we had was just a fling, I expected you to be wise enough to know that I would never take an omega as my mate!” He yelled in my face and I bit down the tears threatening to spill from my eyes. Dorian wasn't about to leave me, was he? All these was a joke right? He called me an omega. Well, I was an Omega, but he never mentioned this before, he never demoted me based on my position in the pack. So what happened now? “But, you said you would make me your Luna…” my voice broke, my efforts in holding the tears becoming futile as fresh tears rolled down my face. This wasn't happening, Dorian must be joking with me again, just like he always did in the past. He chuckled, one that didn't reach his eyes as he watched me with an amused expression. “Take you as my Luna? That must be one hell of a pathetic joke. I never saw you as a friend nor will I see you as even my maid, you're nothing but a lowly omega who shouldn't be seen anywhere around stateliness like me.” He said in disdain. “Leave the Wildwood Pack and never come back, or else I would kill you and throw you into the forest to rot!” With that said, Dorian turned around to leave. “Dorian please!” I yelled out again. Yes I was desperate. If Dorian left me now, It would be hard to survive. I would die! My parents were dead and I had no one to turn to, except my best friend, Valencia, who was just a maid in the Wildwood Packhouse. She literally couldn't do anything to Dorian, even if she wanted to. “Please don't, don't do this to me… Please don't abandon me and your child, this child is really yours and we can confirm it at the alter of the moon goddess, please.” I begged, tears falling uncontrollably from my eyes as I held unto his hand hoping for a positive change in him. But Dorian pulled his hand away from my grip and pushed me away. “Don't you ever touch me with those hands again, you should know this more that anyone else that a Powerful Alpha like myself shouldn't end up with an Omega! I can't end up with you.” He said, looking anywhere else but me. I blinked at his words, both confused and surprised at the audacity. “What about the promise you made to me? You said you would eventually make me your Luna since I was your fated mate. You said you would accept me and love me no matter my quality.” I reminded him, maybe he seemed to have forgotten his earlier words. “Well, I did say all those words, but it was because I was blinded. I thought it would be alright to have an Omega as my Luna, but I was wrong. My parents would never accept this union and you would bring nothing but shame to me.” “But I'm your mate!” I remarked again, more tears falling from my eyes. I already felt numb from all the pains that came with every word he said to me. “Yes, we're mates, but I'm sorry that I will have to reject you, I can't mate or marry you.” He sighed and I looked up at him in shock. “No please, don't reject me..” I began to beg, crying even more as he looked away from me. With coldness in his eyes and disregard, he said the dreaded words of rejection. “I, Dorian Windsor, Alpha of Wildwood pack, hereby reject you, Myra Darkwood, as my mate.” And that was all it took to destroy me completely.******Myra's POV****** "Leave this pack, and never dare to come back here again. If you dare return to this pack again and try to jeopardize my reign, rest assured, your death will be swift and merciless." Dorian's words rang in my ears again and again as he turned around and walked out of the garden. I was instantly paralyzed by fear of his threat. He wanted me to leave the pack and never return, which meant that I wasn't allowed to show my face to his parents either. He would kill me if I did. My wolf, phoenix, howled in pain at the rejection that just took place. She was clearly angered as well. "How dare he?!" She growled. I ignored her and just turned to walk back to my bedroom. My heart was heavy with pains and sorrows. I was this close to going nuts from everything that was happening. If I had known that things would turn out this way, I would never have listened to Dorian the first time he asked me to lay with him. Now I was left pregnant and rejected by th
******Myra's POV****** After I had informed them about my pregnancy and the one responsible for it, the Luna and Alpha brought me over to the Pack's court. Dorian was brought in too and he stood before me as requested by the elders. I saw the anger and hatred he harbored for me in his dark eyes. My confidence faltered at some point when my gaze met his. If given a chance, there was no doubt that he would surely strangle me there and then. "Dorian, what do you have to say about her claims, did you have an affair with her?" One of the Elders asked after a comfortable silence had passed. Dorian turned to look at me and glared at me. "I'm innocent." He said without doubt and I held my breath. Murmurs filled the entire hall as everyone watched in confusion. "But did you ever find out that she was your fated mate?" The elder pressed, waiting patiently for a reply from him. I clenched my fist as tears began to pool up in my eyes. I had no one to stand for me, no one to spea
*****Myra's POV***** As I screamed in horror, I begged Dorian for help, but his eyes remained distant and cold. He just stood there, watching as the guards roughly dragged me away. I strained to catch a glimpse of him, but he soon disappeared from my sight. The guards took me straight to the dungeon, dragging me like a rag doll towards the entrance. Once we arrived, they threw me in without a second thought. As I fell onto the cold floor, tears streaming down my face, I could hear Phoenix howling and reassuring me that everything would be alright. "Myra, please don't cry, it's going to be fine." Phoenix quipped, trying to make me feel better. "Phoenix please stop with the empty reassurances. This will never be fine. I've been proven guilty before the entire court and I was sentenced to death. Phoenix I would be cremated! No, we would be cremated! You will die! I will die and you say it's going to be fine?!" I couldn't help the anger that surged through me as I lashed out. My
*****Myra's POV***** My eyes fluttered open and I groaned, my hand flying to my head. Seeing the sudden unfamiliar room, I froze. I hurriedly bolted upright in bed, my heart pounding in my chest. Confusion washed over me as I struggled to make sense of my surroundings. Wait? I was alive? Wait, How was I even alive? I vividly remembered the searing pain of being consumed by flames, the scent of burning flesh filling my nostrils. I was certain that I had been cremated, my existence reduced to ashes. Yet here I was, wide awake. Before I could process my disbelief, the door swung open and a maid entered the room. Her eyes widened in surprise as she saw me sitting upright. "Luna Adeline! Oh, thank the goddess you're awake!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with relief and joy. Luna Adeline? Who was that? My name was Myra, or at least, it used to be. Confusion and disbelief mingled within me as I stared at the maid, my eyes searching for answers. Who was this Luna Adeline? An
******Myra’s POV****** In order to escape giving an answer to that question, I had pretended to be sleepy and lay back down to make him leave. It worked and he finally left the room. When I opened my eyes again, Lira's amused voice followed next. "That was one good way to send him away, but you know you can't keep ignoring him. You have to eventually see and talk to him." "Of course I know, but not now." I sighed. "I'll have to stay in this room for quite some time." I added exhaustedly. Lira protested immediately, "You can't stay in this room and do nothing. You'll have to leave this room to find the old witch!" She reminded me. I remembered in an instant and sighed in defeat. "Alright, I'll leave to find her." "And you have to get up now." She added without wasting time. I clenched my fist, trying not to say anything to her. She was a Lycan after all. "Lira, it's late already. Can I go tomorrow?" I asked instead. Lira remained quiet for a while before giving
*****Reign’s POV***** “You escaped before, but not anymore, Adeline,” I said to her, watching as she suddenly tensed up. She stood there, watching me with that same wary look. It made my heart ache. Did she hate me so much? Why did being with me make her so miserable? Even after all these years of being together, she still loathed me to this point. Even after having a child together, she hated both me and her child. I sighed, feeling the heaviness of the situation pressing down on my shoulders. “If being with me is so unbearable, I’ll let you go. I’ll reject you and you can go live happily the way you’ve always wanted.” I said to her, holding her gaze with mine. But as usual, the look I expected to see wasn’t there. Unlike before when she would always have a blank expression, she looked quite sad right now. I smirked, taking two steps back, away from her. She said nothing about my offer, so that meant that she was fine with leaving me and our daughter. I turned a
*****Myra’s POV***** “You won’t find anything here,” Lira said for the untenth time as I kept searching the library for a book that could clearly explain everything to me. “There has to be something. Even as an omega at the Wildwood pack, I also visit the library at any given chance. Though not as often as Luna Adeline.” I said in between my search. Lira scoffed and said, “Snap out of it, only the witch can help you,” I ignored her and continued my search. “I already know, but I need to confirm it.” Just as I finished saying this, I finally found what I was busily searching for. The big book that had the words, “Soul Transfer and Reincarnation,” “This is it, I found it,” I muttered and carried it over to the table in the room. Taking a seat and preparing to read through it. Finding out the answers to my awakening was my only priority. There had to be a reason why I woke up in Luna Adeline’s body. I took a deep breath, steadying myself as I opened the thick, dusty
*****Myra’s POV***** I turned to look at Alpha Reign, who stood behind me with a stern look. I fidgeted with the dress, wanting to come up with a good excuse to dish out to him. “There’s no need to lie, just tell him you’re going to see the witch,” Lira said gently. “I’m off to see the pack’s witch,” I said immediately, panic laced in my tone. Reign gave me a skeptical look, but he nodded after a while. “Alright, go with the guard for your safety sake.” He instructed. I opened my mouth to reject, but Lira beat me to it. “Just accept it. Let’s go with the guard.” With no other choice left, I nodded and turned to leave as fast as possible. Being in Alpha Reign’s presence made me scared that he would see through me and find out the truth. When we were finally out of sight, I released the breath I never knew I was holding. “You have to relax, reign is nice and doesn't bite. Focus on what the witch has to say instead.” She interjected, and I hummed in response. We walk
*****Myra’s POV*****I opened my eyes, a groan leaving my lips as I felt a deep headache the next moment.I blinked furiously, trying to make sense of my surroundings.“Thank goodness you're awake, I was scared for a moment.” I heard Lira's voice in my mind.I slowly sat up, biting back a wince. What was the sudden pain I felt in my legs?" What happened?” I tried to remember what happened before now. When I thought hard, the memories flashed in my mind.Office.Blood.Bedroom.Pains.Kira.Wait, Kira?Yes, I remembered how she had walked into my room and found me seated on the floor. Why was she here in the first place?“Oh no, did Alpha Reign find out about my condition by any chance?" I asked, feeling terrified. He must have called the doctor to check on me and know why exactly I had fainted.I hope he didn't find out the truth yet.“Relax, the doctor didn't come," Lira said calmly and I frowned.“What? Didn't Reign call the doctor?” I asked." He did, but the witch came instead. I
*****Reign’s POV*****“I won’t let you marry another woman.”Adeline’s voice rang repeately in my head as I stood outside my study room. She had said it with conviction, her voice steady despite the exhaustion in her eyes. And for a brief, dangerous second, I had felt pleased. Finally, she was fighting for me.Fighting for us.Not because of duty. Not because of the pack’s expectations. But because she wanted to.She never cared before, she was never bothered by my opinion or welfare. She never asked about her daughter and lastly, she barely spoke to me without insulting me and asking for a divorce. But today, I had seen sincerity in her eyes when she said that.Had she really changed for good? Or was this another stunt to fool me and the entire pack? When she said those words, I should have stayed, should have asked her why now, after all these years, she finally had something to say about our marriage. But instead, I left. And I went straight to Erika. The pack wants Erika, not Adel
*****Adeline’s POV*****A low growl rumbled in my head, sharp and insistent.“Wake up, Myra.” I gasped, my eyes snapping open the next minute. My entire body ached as if I’d been hit by a truck, but the sharpest pain was in my skull, pounding like a war drum. For a moment, I couldn’t move, my limbs heavy, the taste of blood thick on my tongue.“Get up,” Lira’s voice cut through my haze, more forceful this time.It was as if she had been calling out to me for a long time now.I sucked in a slow breath, blinking against the low light filtering into the office through the opened window. The scent of dried blood lingered around me, mine. My fingers twitched, then curled into a fist. I forced my muscles to obey, shifting my weight until I was kneeling. As I wiped the streaks of blood from my nose with the back of my hand, my eyes flickered to the large window. It was already dark outside. How long had I been here?I glanced toward the door. No one had come for me.A bitter chuckle slipped
*****Adeline’s POV*****I followed behind him steadily as we entered his office, my heart beat accelerating as I tried to think of what exactly I would say to him once we arrived.I had acted without thinking, and I hoped I wouldn't mess things up.When we arrived in his office, Reign walked directly to his chair behind his huge mahogany table.I walked in slowly and closed the door behind me, my hands feeling clammy. He crossed his arms over his chest. “Speak,” he said, his voice as cold and detached as ever.I took a slow breath, my fists still clenched at my sides. This was wrong, but for the sake of my future. It wasn'tabout the late Luna anymore.“You’re taking a second wife?” I quizzed carefully, also cutting straight to the point. “You didn’t think to inform me?”My breath got caught in my throat, wondering what he would say. This felt dangerous, and I felt even worse because I thought he could see through me. As if he could decipher that I wasn’t his Luna. His jaw tensed, but
*****Author’s POV***** Two days later, Myra finally got the chance to walk around again. She spent the past two days in her bedroom as requested by Reign. Finally getting a chance to come out again, she felt refreshed, the searing pain from earlier long forgotten. The maids helped her get into the outfit of the day and helped her out of the room. Just as she ambled downstairs, she caught sight of housekeepers bowing at someone walking into the room. Myra squinted in confusion, wondering if a prominent person had arrived or something. A maid passed by and bowed at her as well. On a closer look, she saw fear in the maid’s eyes as she walked past her. Immediately, Myra’s face burned in embarrassment. She had alot of things to change around here, starting with people’s impression about her. Adeline had instilled fear in the hearts of her subjects, and she hated to interfere in it. But the issue at hand was related to her now, and it was her duty to make a change in the Pac
*****Myra’s POV***** My breath hitched as I still lay frozen beneath with his lips on mine. My lips tingled from the unexpected kiss the moment he pulled away. The warmth of his body hovered over me, but it was the feel of his lips on mine that left me frozen in shock. It wasn’t like anything I had ever tasted before. My mind swirled in confusion— this wasn’t supposed to happen. I wasn’t supposed to feel anything, especially not for the man whose wife I was pretending to be. I watched as Alpha Reign pulled back, his eyes still half closed as if savoring the moment. I knew I should have pulled away when his lips crashed on mine, but the witch's words echoed in my mind: “There is a reason why you woke up again, use Reign to complete the task you couldn’t complete.” I gazed at him, never looking away from the shyness from before. My lips parted and closed up again. “I know what you’re thinking, Myra. Please don’t do it. He is someone else’s husband.” Lira tried to stop me an
*****Myra's POV***** I lay on my bed in my room, staring at the white sterile ceiling. The pains from earlier seemed to be gone, and I could finally breathe again. Lira insisting that I visit the witch again was unacceptable. What was I supposed to say to Alpha Reign if he eventually caught me going for the second time? I just couldn't do it, at least not yet. The darkness crept in and fell over the horizon. I slowly got out of bed, walking towards the window to take in some fresh air at least. I always did this back at the Wildwood pack, I would often come to sit by the window of Dorian's bedroom each time I snuck in. The night sky had this refreshing moment attached to it. Unlike Dorian who never liked darkness, I liked the darkness more than anything else. Just then, I heard the sound of clinking swords. Someone else was awake at this time? At the Wildwood pack, once it was dark, there would be stillness and silence till the sun rose again. But in this pack,
*****Myra’s POV***** Two days after I visited the witch’s cottage, everything seemed fine and normal afterward. I came to terms that I needed to blend into this new life as someone else, someone more powerful than my past self. There was a reason, of rather behind this, so I had to accept what was offered to me. Lira was still very much angered, but I knew she would come around eventually. Today, with the sun setting on the horizon, I decided to make a meal for the Alpha and his daughter whom I was yet to get close to, knowing that the girl’s name was still a mystery to me. I got out of bed, feeling the mix of determination and excitement coursing through me. I made my way to the bathroom, had a bath, and took in deep refreshing breaths as I headed towards the kitchen after stepping out of my bedroom. When I arrived at the kitchen, I was greeted by the maids already preparing to make the meal for the day. “Greetings, Luna Adeline.” A maid whom I suspected was the he
