"Faith," the old man's voice trembled as he nodded, tears welling up in his eyes. "Yes, my dear, we named you Faith. We never thought we would see you again."The room was engulfed in a heavy silence, broken only by the sound of sobs and sniffles from the reunited family. Faith couldn't believe her eyes or ears. Her heart pounded in her chest, emotions swirling within her like a storm. It was as if time had stopped, and she found herself transported back to a past she had long buried. She reached out a trembling hand, almost afraid that the figures in front of her would disappear like a mirage. The years of separation, the void that had consumed her soul, all seemed to melt away in that moment. It was an overwhelming mix of joy, disbelief, and a touch of bitterness.Tears streamed down Faith's cheeks as she crawled forward, her movements shaky, until she was within arm's reach of her parents. She took a deep breath, the air catching in her throat, and then threw herself into their wai
"John and Lina? The current alpha and luna...? They did this? Why?!" Faith exclaimed in anger and disbelief, her voice laced with a mix of frustration and confusion. The weight of the revelation bore down on her, causing a shiver of fear to course through her body, leaving her trembling with uncertainty. Kendrick, sensing her unease, instinctively drew her closer into his embrace, enveloping her in a comforting hug, his arms wrapping around her with a protective strength."They are truly evil people," Faith's father expressed with a heavy heart, his voice filled with a mixture of sorrow and anger. The weight of their betrayal felt even more burdensome, as he reflected on the depth of trust they had placed in John and Lina. They had been more than friends; they were practically family. The magnitude of John's deceit was beyond anything he could have ever imagined, leaving him grappling with a sense of disbelief and an indelible feeling of betrayal that would be hard to forgive."Why did
"Thea?"Faith's heart skipped a beat as she turned around and found herself face to face with Thea, her witch friend whom she planned to call secretly. Thea stood there, her eyes glistening with a mixture of coldness and relief, as if her eyes fell on a particular person in the room but she soon looked at Faith. "Thea? What are you doing here?" Faith's voice trembled with a mix of confusion and disbelief. She couldn't believe her eyes. Thea was here, in a wolf and lycan's territory. Witches are banned here. What if she gets punished?!"I called her," Kendrick's voice broke the spell. Faith turned her attention to him, her eyes wide with curiosity. Kendrick stood by Faith's side with a determined look in his eyes."Why...?" Faith's voice trailed off, her mind spinning with questions. Why did Kendrick call Thea? What was happening? It was as if her emotions were on a roller coaster, swinging between hope and uncertainty."We need to find Echo, Faith. Only she can help us," Kendrick's v
The room was filled with a heavy silence as the weight of the situation bore down on everyone present. Faith's tears flowed uncontrollably, her heart shattered by the betrayal she had just discovered. She looked at Steven with a mixture of disbelief, pain, and anger in her eyes."Steven…?" Faith's voice trembled as she struggled to find the right words. "How could you…? How could you do this to me..? I thought you were my friend…"Steven's face contorted with nervousness and urgency as he pleaded with her. "Faith… Please listen to me… Please don't say that. I thought you were my only hope of living a good life with my daughter... I hope you are our protector... how could you...?" Faith's voice quivered as she cried out in disbelief and anguish, her trust shattered.Tears streamed down Steven's face as he broke down in guilt. "Faith, please... don't say that. I never wanted to hurt you or your daughter. I thought I was doing what was best for both of you. I never meant to betray your t
Kendrick's confusion spilled forth in a rush, his voice trembling with a mix of uncertainty and a glimmer of hope. "Then why hasn't she sacrificed Echo yet? What's stopping her?" he asked, his mind racing with questions, desperately seeking to grasp the intricacies of the dark plot that had ensnared them all.Faith exchanged a glance with Thea, and a heavy silence settled over the room. Each passing moment seemed to stretch infinitely as they weighed their words carefully, considering how much to reveal without endangering their fragile plans. The room fell into a silence pregnant with anticipation, their emotions swirling with a mixture of dread, fear, and fragile hope. They hung on Thea's every word, waiting for her to unravel the mysteries that surrounded them and pave the path towards their salvation.Thea's eyes flickered with a mix of determination, concern, and a hint of fear as she responded, her voice laced with urgency and a touch of desperation. "Grandma? Grandma, are you there?" Jackson's voice trembled in irritation which he tried to hide so hard as he tentatively knocked on the door of the darkest room in his mansion. This room gave him an inexplicable sense of dread, and every fiber of his being screamed at him to turn away. He didn't want to come here, but his father's stern words had forced him into this nerve-wracking encounter."Grandma?!" The desperation in his voice grew as he received no response after what felt like an eternity. He pounded on the door with increasing urgency, hoping against hope for any sign of life from within."I am here, you stupid werewolf! Don't shout!" A shrill, grating voice pierced through the heavy wooden door, making Jackson's skin crawl with unease. He rolled his eyes, trying to muster the strength to face the inevitable discomfort that lay beyond the door."I am coming in," he stammered, finally pushing the door open just a crack. Stepping inside, he was immediately met with an overwhel
"Wh..why do I have to reject my mate...?" Faith asked in a confused and broken tone. The thought of doing that to Kendrick and herself shook her to the core. She couldn't do that…But it was for Echo…her daughter. She won't be able to forgive herself if anything happens to her daughter. Because she was taken away by Steven just because she wasn't with her as she was busy being selfish!"Witches like Helen's power feed on bonds like yours and the king. And her youth feeds on young blood. Helen has already done way too much magic on you. One of them is meddling with you and Kendrick's mate bond." Thea explained and the hall fell into silence once again."So, in order to stop her from receiving power from me, I need to reject him?" Faith asked once again. Kendrick was silent all this while. Faith couldn't muster up the courage to even look at him."Yes. You are a big source of her power. But that is just to stop her for the time being. Also, she is unable to sacrifice Echo on the red moon
Loud sound of water splashing around woke Faith up. She slowly opened her eyes to meet with darkness which scared her a bit at that moment. But instead of freaking out, she calmed herself down as Kendrick's lingering scent assured her that she was safe. She didn't know from where she got that assurance but she just knew. She was laying down when she opened her eyes. She tried to get up and suddenly felt that she wasn't on her bed like she thought she would be. Instead it was soft grass underneath her which tickled her skin. There was a blanket over her body.At that moment, she was confused would be an understatement. Where was she?!She quickly sat up straight and looked around to see that she was in an open space in the forest. There were trees at her left and a big lake at her right. The moonlight was glowing brightly to make her surroundings visible. The moonlight fell on the lake water and it looked like diamonds dancing with the water. Such a beautiful scene it was! That's whe
