“Please, Aurelian, I know she did wrong, but let’s all focus on Kion first; after that, we can do something about the witches,” I said. He gave me a long look.

“Please, Kion is more dangerous to us all. After that, you can go after the witches, and I won’t stop you,” I said, placing my hand on his cheeks. He breathed out, then took me in his arms, sitting on the couch. He dipped his face in my neck, taking in my scent as he held me tight, but not uncomfortably tight. I brushed his hair.

“You can do it after we take care of Kion,” I said. He breathed out again, cooling off. Then he pulled back and gave me a long look.
