VALERIE
“Walk faster!” I glanced back at my mother’s pale face as my stepfather dragged me roughly to the car parked in the driveway. I wanted to part my parched lips and inquire from him where we were going with my bags but the fear that tightened my heart didn’t let me speak a word. Instead, I followed him sheepishly like a sheep being led to the slaughterhouse. Ever since my father died and my mother remarried, my life has turned upside-down. I turned into a servant overnight at his arrival, and my helpless mother did nothing but watch me do his bidding. Every day, I wished and hoped that I would finally get out of the house and find a life for myself, the life that I was destined for. And sometimes, when I understand how helpless my mother is, I refrain from the thought of running away. But what can one do? I am confused, helpless, and stuck with a monster my mother brought into our lives. My stepfather shoved me into the passenger's seat and slammed the door close before walking over to the driver’s seat. My eyes dimmed in confusion when I saw a tear slip out of my mother’s eyes as the car roared to life and skidded out of the driveway. My stomach churned in discomfort and anxiety as a thousand questions roamed around my head. Where could he be taking me to? Why was Mother crying? Why is my luggage with me? What is going to be my fate after this? I sought desperately for an answer to my numerous questions but found none. Even though it would have been easier if I asked the hardened-faced man seated right next to me, I still couldn’t bring myself to do it. I felt like I was drowning in a pool of anxiety and uncertainty. After many hours of driving, he finally pulled up in front of a large beautiful gate. I couldn’t tell where that was, but I was sure that it was far away from my Pack; it seemed to be another Pack entirely. My stepfather honked the horn severally before the large gates were pulled open. He drove in and parked the car in a corner. He got out of the car and swung the door to my seat open, glaring hatefully at me. “Get out!” he bellowed and didn’t wait for me to move a limb before dragging me out of the car. “Are you here to see the Alpha?” a voice muttered behind us and we turned around to see a large hairy man staring intimidatingly at us. “Yes,” my stepfather said, chuckling nervously. “Follow me,” the man muttered and began to lead the way into a beautiful mansion that stood some distance away from us. I tried to look around the unfamiliar surroundings, but my stepfather’s owlish eyes, which were pinned on me, made that impossible. I fixed my eyes on the back of the huge man, wondering what we were doing in a place like this. The man led us into a large living room, decorated with beautiful historic drawings from ceiling to floor. The luxurious, expensive furniture, Persian rugs, marbled floor, and sweet-scenting flowers positioned at all corners of the large room screamed wealth and power. The echo of footsteps from the spiral staircase brought an end to my fascination. “He is here,” the man muttered and quickly wheezed out of the room, leaving my father with a man that I barely knew. The dark aura revolving around the handsome man hit me, making me take a step back. I stared at his breathtaking face and body. All my life, I’ve never come across a man as handsome as the one that stood a few inches away from me. His enchanting brown eyes stared keenly at me then slowly moved to my stepfather’s face. From the corner of my eyes, I watched my stepfather shudder in fear. That was the first time I had seen fear glisten in his eyes. My brows raised as I wondered who the man was to make my monstrous stepfather shudder in fear. “Greetings, Alpha,” he exclaimed and bowed low to the ground, making my eyes widen. He tilted his head and snickered at me. “Bow, you silly girl!” he snapped and I quickly went down on my knees. Before kissing my forehead to the ground, I raised my eyes at the man and cringed when my eyes locked with those blank brown eyes. I quickly brought my head down and prostrated like my stepfather did. “Is that the girl?” I heard the man ask. “Yes, Alpha,” my stepfather replied without raising his head. “Hmmm… will she be fit for the work?” My heart constricted as I pondered on his words. Work? What work is he talking about? “Yes, to be honest, she is still a virgin!” my stepfather blurted out and I snapped my head in his direction. I wanted to ask what was going on, but my stepfather’s deadly glare, coupled with the man’s aura, shut me up. I gulped down and kept my head down, hoping that it wouldn’t turn out to be what I thought. “Raise your head, little girl,” the man muttered. Even though I didn’t like the sound of him calling me little, I obeyed him and lifted my head. “Get up,” he commanded in a cold voice and I staggered up to my feet. He stared at me with eyes full of dark lust. My body froze as he covered up the spaces between us and pinched my nipples. A gasp escaped from my lips and he smirked in satisfaction. “Her buds are just what I’m looking for,” he muttered and licked his lips, sending shivers down my spine. My stepfather raised his head and grinned. “I knew you would like her, Alpha,” he chuckled. “She’s more than enough to repay the debts that you owe. You can leave,” the man muttered and my father’s grin widened. My heart shrank and dropped into my belly as I stared at the two men in dismay. I didn’t want to believe that my father was selling me off to an unknown man, but the reality of it was glaring mockingly at my face. “My Beta will hand over the remaining money to you once you step out,” the man said and my stepfather nodded eagerly. “Here’s your bag, Val, and be a good girl,” he patted my head before dropping my bag at my numb feet. “Father!” I called out in a quivering voice as he turned around to walk out He cranked his head backward, no ounce of remorse left in his eyes. “Obey the Alpha and be a good girl, you’ll be better off here!” he snarled and trotted out as fast as he could. The tears that stung my eyes dropped freely and rolled down my cheeks as I cried silently. “Wipe those tears away! I don’t like them,” the man huffed and I glanced up at him, summoning my courage. “What do you want from me?” I snapped. His brows raised as he took slow strides towards me then wrapped his fingers around my chin. “Your body.” “What?” I gasped out. He lowered his face to my level and whispered in a dark voice. “You are going to become my sex slave.”VALERIE I stepped back, gasping loudly in dismay. My eyes gapped at him in fright and disbelief. "What did you just say?" I blurted out. He tilted his head sideways, ignoring my question as he twitched his lips in disgust. Before I could part my lips to say another word, two young men trudged into the room and gripped my arm, pulling me out of the large room roughly. "Stop it! Stop it!" I screamed, trying to break free from their grip which proved futile in the end. "Tell Margaret to get her ready for tonight!" I heard him snap at the guards before spinning around and heading up the stairs. "No, please, hear me out, please!" I screamed for mercy to no avail. The men got to a door and paused; one of them pushed the door open while the other flung me into the damp, cold room. "Wait!" I bellowed and staggered up to my feet, racing for the door. But it was slammed shut before I could touch it. I crouched down to the ground and buried my face in it, sobbing bitterly.
VALERIEMy breath hitched when we got to the large oak doors, madam Margaret stepped back and jerked her head towards the door. “Go in,” she muttered and my heart shrank. My feet froze as I struggled to move closer and push the door open. “Valerie?” Margaret snapped impatiently. “The Alpha doesn't like to be kept waiting,” she added, but no matter how hard I tried, my paralyzed feet wouldn't budge from the spot. I gasped out, my heart thumping loudly in my chest. “Go in!” Margaret repeated, her voice louder than before. I gulped hard and bit my lips before pushing my feet forward. I reached out to open the door, but it pulled open, and Alpha Jonas's face popped out, to my dismay. Anger flickered across his sharp brown eyes as he ran his eyes around my trembling body. “Why is she late?” He sneered in a voice that made me cringe. “Forgive me, Alpha. She is a naive girl,” I heard Margaret reply behind me. “Naive?” He scoffed with disdain laced in his voice. He snapped his
VALERIEMy racing heart only stilled with Alpha Jonas dropped to the ground, unhurt. “Follow me!” He snapped in a hoarse voice, briskly walking into a dark tunnel. Why does he want me to come with him? Why doesn't he let me go and save himself instead? Does he… does he value me? I shook my head at the absurd thought. Not after what he did to me in his room. “Walk faster!” His snap jolted me out of my thoughts. I increased my pace, running at some point to catch up with his fast strides. The body was lying on the floor, and the shadows stuck to my mind, haunting me. The man's face has a striking resemblance to someone that I've come across, but I can't seem to place where I have seen it or who it was. But one thing is certain, he's dead. We kept walking through the dark tunnel till we stopped in front of a door. I stared in astonishment as he dug out a bunch of keys and slipped an old rusting key into the almost invincible keyhole on the door. The door clicked open and h
VALERIE “Have you heard of the Lycan kings?” His voice came out hoarse yet pleasing to my ears. “Huh?” I stuttered and the beat of my heart accelerated. He glanced over at the other man and twitched his lips, leaning closer till our lips were just a hair's breadth away. My body began heating up slowly and my pulse raced. I wanted to move back but the other man was right behind me, compelling me to remain stuck at that spot. I was trapped between these two devilishly handsome and dangerous-looking men. “Who are you two?” My voice quivered as I spoke with a heart gripped with fear. “We just told you, sweetheart,” the one behind me said in a soft singsong voice which strangely sounded appealing to my hearing. “You are his Luna, aren't you, honey?” He muttered in a sultry tone that made my belly knot. Luna? Whose Luna? Alpha Jonas's Luna? No, they're wrong, I'm not his Luna. I shook my head and parted my lips to spill out the truth but a loud thud behind me made m
VALERIE My lips parted yet no words came forth. I was short of words, I was confused. I wanted to speak up for my defense, but I couldn't; it felt like Alpha Jonas's words had paralyzed me. “So, you are his Luna, after all,” Killian said, a mischievous smirk dancing at the corner of his little plump lips. Lucian remained unmoved as he glared coldly at me. “Why did you say you weren't?” He muttered in the iciest voice that I've ever heard. The hoarseness was somehow gone, its absence added fear instead of relief to my soul. “I… I,…” I stammered and glared at Alpha Jonas, hoping he would have a change of heart and tell them who his real Luna was. But the useless devil did nothing of such, instead he pursed his lips in anger and shook his finger accusingly at me. “You lied to them? You told them you weren't the Luna. How shameless can you be, Valerie?” He snapped, calling me by my name.My eyes batted in shock, I was petrified in wonder that I was dumbstruck. The two men stared
VALERIE I stumbled for the fourth time as I ran far off into the woods. I couldn't tell where I was or how I would get out; only one thing stuck to my mind: this was the perfect escape plan, and I had to stick to it no matter what. As I ran, my mind drifted back to those Lycan kings and I felt my heart skip a beat. They must have noticed my absence by now. The thought of them coming after me made me quicken my pace. The cold air grazed my parched skin, stinging me without mercy as my body shuddered from the cold. I sneezed and clenched my belly as it rumbled yet I couldn't stop to catch a breath. My heart froze when I heard a twig snap behind me. I stopped running and listened cautiously for any rattle of leaves but heard nothing. I wanted to continue running, but my wolf, Jade, urged me to stop and listen longer. My heart thumped loudly and my hands shook as I stood in the dark forest. What if it's a wolf hunter? Or worse, the Lycan kings? ‘Jade, I can't wait anymore, I ha
VALERIE “I am not the Luna."A lump formed in my throat as I tried to sink in her words.“You… you are not the Luna?" I found myself sputtering. She smiled and took a step closer. My heart sank when she fell on her knees and bowed her head to the ground.“Forgive me, Luna; I know you've always hated me because the Alpha claimed me too, but it wasn't my fault. I begged him to have mercy, but he wouldn't listen,” she blabbered, and my eyes widened in shock.I turned around, searching for the person she was talking to.But when I saw no one behind me or close by, it dawned on me that she was referring to me.“What… what are you saying? I am not the Luna!" I snapped.I glanced over at Killian and Lucian. I found their amused eyes staring at me.“I…" I trailed off and glared at her.I understood that she wanted to escape Killian and Lucian's wrath. She wanted to put me in her place and make me suffer in her stead. It finally dawned on me that she didn't love her mate, perhaps, that explai
VALERIE I felt a chilly sensation on my arm when I tilted my head. I tried to snap my eyes open but couldn't; I felt like something was holding me down. Two different scents slipped into my nostrils and I gasped out, enjoying the scents of dark musk and rich sandalwood that intermingled and played with my senses. The chilly sensation came again, but this time, it was on my waist. I felt something slide up my thighs, heading in between them. My heart skipped a beat and I forced my eyes open. The first thing that hit me was the grey and blue eyes that flickered blackness the moment they met mine. My mind reeled, my pulse raced and my mind shot back to the previous tragic events that took place before I fainted. I wasn't dead, I was still alive and trapped with the devils that threatened to ruin my life. “You?" I gasped and shifted uncomfortably. I tried getting away but found that impossible as they were both hovering over me, caging me down to the soft mattress. “Stop, let
VALERIE "Your sister?" I gasped in surprise. She nodded her head in response and smiled sadly."She must mean a lot to you," I stuttered, cautious of the words that I blurt out."Yes, she does," she whispered and sighed, slamming her eyes shut.I watched her, silently hoping that she would open the wardrobe. She turned around and moved towards the table, my hopes dashing."I store my memories in there…" she spoke as she raised the glass of wine to her lips. She paused and dimmed her eyes, twirling the glass in her hand."Everyone of them." If not that I paid keen attention to her, I wouldn't have grabbed the words she whispered with sadness."Getting mated to the heir of the Nox family must come with lots of memories," I chuckled nervously."Yes, I had the most chaotic memory here in the Blood Moon Pack, especially with Renee around," she muttered and gulped down some of the wine in the glass. My throat knotted when she mentioned Renee. She dropped the glass on the table and waved m
VALERIE I followed Lucian to Killian's room, my heart thumping loudly in my chest in excitement. He didn't bother knocking before pushing the door open. Killian raised his head when we entered the room. He dropped the cup he was holding and leaned back into the bed, his eyes piercing into ours in a suspicious gaze. "Don't tell me you two have been fucking while I'm struggling with my life," he huffed, turning up his lips as he narrowed his eyes at us. "Why should I bother myself when I'm certain that you're going to live," Lucian muttered nonchalantly. I trotted towards Killian and took his hand, rubbing it gently. "I heard you got the antidote," he muttered. I raised my head and our eyes locked. I blushed lightly, my heart skipping beats as those blue eyes that I had always yearned to stare into consumed me. "Did you get hurt on the way?" He asked. I shook my head, too stunned to speak. His hand moved to my hair, and he brushed it back, a smile flickering across his enchan
VALERIE I almost choked when he whispered those words to me. "What… what?" I gasped, feeling the rush of blood in my face.""Don't you want to be sure you haven't lost your voice yet?" He teased, causing a smile to break out on my face. "Then I should see a doctor for my voice," I replied. Despite the desire I had for him, I still couldn't stop my stubbornness from showing up again. His hand moved to my hair, and he patted it gently before combing it down with his fingers."We don't need a doctor here, little Val, not when I'm right here," he whispered, teasing me with his hot breath against my neck. I shivered and giggled slightly. His hand traced up to my breast and he squeezed my hardened nipples, earning a gasp from me.He leaned forward and kissed my neck, placing love bites on my neck.I groaned out in pleasure, biting my lips as my eyes slammed shut in pleasure. My pussy was dripping wet, begging for an insertion of his fingers. He moved away and pushed his wavy hair back,
VALERIE Lucian parted his lips, ready to pass out his judgment on me. "Why should she be treated that way after what she went through to find the antidote?" Lucian questioned me, snapping a glare at Michelle. "Do you even have a conscience?" He snapped at Michelle and her jaws dropped. "How sure are you that she went to the Isle of the Blessed? It's possible that she stayed at a place and returned with a drug prepared by a witch!" She groused, still trying to turn Lucian against me. "Why don't you focus on helping him recover instead of laying blame!" Lucian growled at her and she jumped, embarrassment smeared against her face. "But…" Lucian grabbed me and raised my shirt, pointing at the wound on my belly. "Is that enough to prove that she went there? Will she hurt herself so bad to lie?" He snapped. He sighed and dug his hand into his hair, groaning in anger as he glared at her in annoyance. "She did her part by going to the cursed Isle and getting the antidote, why don't
VALERIE My heart stopped beating the moment his lips pressed against mine. A warm feeling washed over my body and my legs stopped shaking. He pulled away and blinked repeatedly before grasping my hand. His eyes held emotions that I couldn't interpret even though the meaning was clear to me and everyone surrounding us.His lips trembled, and his chest rose and fell, causing a knot to form in my throat."Go on," he whispered tenderly to me, brushing my hair back with his hand before letting go of my hand. He glanced over at Michelle and nodded towards her. "Come on, take her in and prepare the antidote for Killian," he said in a completely different tone. Happiness rippled through me, and I tried hard not to burst into laughter or mockery before everyone. Michelle, who was almost numb from shock nodded slowly and began to climb the stairs with heavy steps. A smile tugged at the corner of my lips as I trailed after Michelle. We didn't say a word to one another as we walked acros
VALERIE "My lady!" Beta Neil exclaimed and rushed towards the car I was in as we drove in. He pulled the door open and stood aside for me with his head bowed. I felt an unexplainable happiness and satisfaction rock my body the moment the car drove into the manor of the Blood Moon Pack. I stepped out of the car, my face radiating with a smile over my accomplishment. The Beta smiled when he saw me, excited that I came back alive with the antidote as well. "Alpha Killian is still alive, right?" I asked the moment I faced him. "Yes. We all have been waiting for your arrival," he replied and bowed again. I smiled and turned to face Theo and Liam. "Thank you for protecting me," I muttered. "No, my lady, we should be thanking you for saving our lives," Liam responded. I chuckled and rubbed their broad shoulders, earning shocked gasps from them before walking away with the beta. Everywhere looked quite different even though I had lived there for months. Perhaps, it was the effect
VALERIE I narrowed my eyes at her question and scoffed. I was certain that she wasn't happy that I was back. "Shouldn't I be asking you that instead?" I asked, glaring at her. "You didn't seem to get punished for your sassy behavior over there," she muttered."Why? Are you disappointed to find out that none of the traumas I faced there broke me down?" I blurted out, making sure that the mockery was evident in my voice. She scoffed and sat up, flipping her long lustrous hair to the side as she admired her manicure. My lips turned up as I watched her, slowly burning out my patience. "Why am I not in the Blood Moon Pack?" I snapped. "Hush!" She snapped, placing her hand over my heavily glossed lips. "You are in a sacred place. Do not make too much noise," she whispered. I twitched up my lips in disgust but unwillingly obeyed her. I looked around the room and realized that it was a living room. "How is a living room your sacred place?" I asked sassily. She darted her eyes in my
VALERIE I rose and stared at her pale body which had already gone limp under the chandelier.I felt no remorse for her or guilt for what I had done. She deserved every bit of the attack and every pain she felt when those glasses sank into her body.I turned around and began to walk away, clutching the pouch, which was the priceless item that I risked my life for.On getting to the door, my heart tightened and fear flashed through me.With shaking hands, I gripped the handles weakly and pushed the door.It pulled open at the slight nudge and my heart skipped in joy.I didn't waste a second more in that hall as I swiftly walked out.The moment my feet stepped out of the tower, I felt a wave coarse through me. A large smile appeared on my face and my feet shook in excitement. I didn't bother taking a look at the tower but proceeded with moving towards the dark waters. I took a deep breath, silently reciting the words that I had seen on the wall. Chills surged through my spine when my
VALERIE My skin tingled as I waited for the pain to spread across my body, but nothing came. I slowly turned away from the engraved words to look at her. To my astonishment, she was staring right at what I was staring at, bearing the same expression that I had when I saw it. I looked at the words and then back at her, a sinister idea slipping into my mind. I jerked away from the wall and rushed towards the sword, sweeping it up from the floor. She snapped out of the trance she was in and spun around, but before she could restore her stance, my sword was already drawn and aiming for her belly. Before she could parry the attack, I had sunk the blade into her belly. A gasp echoed in the hall and silence fell between us. We stood rooted at a spot, only separated by a sword that was stuck in her belly. She looked up, her eyes dark and rheumy. Blood dripped from her mouth, and her lips shook. Her eyes slowly grew lifeless, and her skin turned pale. "You are the one who
