Chapter 2 Meeting the Alpha King

As we entered the large dining room there were three males seated there at the table, "Father is not feeling well, I will take you to him when we are done eating." he said. He was the same one that I saw in the hall. They all looked alike, and I assumed they were triplets. They all ate talking among themselves avoiding me.

I tried to listen but my mind was busy thinking about the Alpha King, and what did he want from me. Would he hate me like they do? That was when I realized they were all staring at me,

"Well?" one of them asked.

"Well, What?" I did not hear them ask me a question.

"She must be on drugs, all spaced out this early in the day." one said and they all laughed.

"We said, what is your name?" he repeated his question. I guess he spoke for all of them are maybe it was a triplet thing to use 'We' instead of 'I'

"I am Syla, I don't do drugs, and It's nice to meet you all."

They all just stared at me and then did something unexpected, they all whispered my name "Syla." as if it put them in some sort of trance, Then they all stared at Rain. I don't do drugs but they might, by the way they were acting. I wondered. They acted like spoiled unruly children in very sexy men's bodies. I just tuned them out again.  They didn't even notice, their conversation seemed to be private, in hushed tones. and every now and then they would look at me.

When I had finished my meal, I started to get up, "Where are you going? The one who was in my room asked. "My Father wishes to see you." He got up and motioned for me to follow him. His bedroom was on the top floor. It was at the end of a very long hallway His maid sat on the bench outside of his room in case he needed her.

When we walked into his room it was elegantly furnished he was lying in a beautiful four-poster bed with pillows propped up behind him he had just finished his breakfast as his maid took the tray. "Ah, there she is," he smiled. It was the first time someone had smiled at me since I arrived. "Come sit Syla, we have much to talk about," he said "Have the boys been treating you well?" That was another question that would get me into trouble. I looked at the one who had brought me here, he shot me a look that said I better not say a word. "What is your name?" I asked him.

His eyes grew wide, he looked at me as if I had stabbed him.

"Son, you didn't even introduce yourselves to her?" he was upset.

"Blaze," he spoke up before anything else could be said.

I smiled at him, "Blaze, has been especially nice to me, he even came by my room last night to make sure I was safe and sound, and that I had everything that I needed." I lied to the Alpha King for the sake of peace.

"That's good, I am glad they are treating you well." he smiled at Blaze and then he got up and stormed out of the room. "They are good boys, they just don't like strangers in their home, give them some time. But, I am pleased that they are treating you well." he tried to sit up straighter and I rushed to help him. "Thank you, child, That's part of the reason you are here, I need someone to help me with the things I can't do, and to have long conversations with, I get lonely sometimes." he smiled.

My eyes flew open, Please let it not mean what I think he meant. "OH no, not like that!" he chuckled, "I am too old for that."

I was relieved. "Come closer," he patted the spot beside him on his bed. "What I need is a non-sexual companion and if I'm pleased, I will add you to my will as my chosen mate, but don't tell anyone that we are not anything else. I have had the contract already drawn up, think it over before you sign." He started coughing and I saw blood, I quickly got a warm face cloth and wiped it away, as he smiled. "You have a caregiver's heart, this is good. If you decide to sign, you will become the pack's Luna when you reach the age of 18, and after my passing, you will inherit one-fourth of my estate and continue to be Luna until my sons find their mates, They will all three take my place as Alpha Kings.

The boys will always live here this is their home, and they will never be allowed to kick you out, no matter who they are mated to. If it comes down to it, the mansion has four wings you will each inherit one." he explained. I shook my head letting him know that I understood, and was grateful that I would always have a home.

"And you must stay in school, I know you were in an all-girls boarding school before coming here, but here you will attend the pack's school, with my boys, they will make sure you are well taken care of." he coughed again and his face grew red. He pointed to the pills on his nightstand and the notebook that recorded the time he had taken the pills last. I read the bottle and it says four times a day which meant every six hours. I checked the notepad and it showed that he was due to take it an hour ago, so I got him some water and gave him his meds. Watching as his face slowly cleared back up, it was his blood pressure meds and there were others,

"My own father was sick like this before he passed, and I have an app that will remind me that it is time for your meds, tomorrow I will chart all your meds on my app." I smiled. He held out his hand and thanked me. "Don't mind their manners they are good boys," he said looking deep into my eyes. "The Goddess has smiled on you, Syla. Your father was my best friend when we were boys."

"They need a female in the house to teach them. Their mother died when they were very young, I have not done well in teaching them how to behave, with me being sick and all," he said.

"I will do my best," I said but knew they would never listen to me, But this man had enough on his plate, he didn't need to hear that.
