Kirsch's POV
"We have to go back!" Willa dragged me in the direction of the dungeon the moment Stone disappeared with his annoying smirk around the corner.
"Wait, we need to think--"
"What to think about?! They are going to kill him tonight!" Willa shouted, her voice echoing through the empty hallway. I covered her mouth and dragged her into a random room.
"We don't know that." I had the bad feeling of being forced to make the only choice available while it was exactly what the enemies wanted.
"Who else?!" Willa put her palm on her forehead to prevent herself from shouting again, "How many mad rogues do you run into?! It has to be Taran!"
"Exactly. I'm sure it's him, but why? Why now?" I hissed under my breath, "They don't have the right to execute a previous Alpha without notifying his pack. This is the rule. They kept him alive exactly for that when they have been failing to prove that Taran is a mad rogue. So why this sudden change of hea
Kirsch's POVUnder the dim light of dusk, the bonfire was lit in the center of the squire. But what took our attention, was the huge X-shaped wooden stand right beside the flame, and the man tied to it.Taran."How dare you!" Nox bellowed the second she saw Taran, and it took both me AND Willa to contain her before she could shift and dash out.[Remember why we are here!] I urged, but I was worried as well--Taran didn't look good. There were several new cuts on his body, fresh and bleeding. Apparently from another visit right after ours. He didn't rise his head when Nox made the fuss, and I could feel pain, right through our mate mark.I thought I could trust him with the rest if I get Nox out of here, but now I wasn't so sure he had everything under control anymore."He is the mad rogue who butchered half of my pack in cold blood." Stone came forward and stood in front of Taran, facing the crowd, "I'm here to demand justice f
Kirsch's POVI took the human way and got Willa and me back to the pack with a plane, in case Stone sat some ambush for us.Natasha never came, not even after we made it back to the pack safely. The pack didn't even notice our absence and the only mess stirred up with them was the rumor about Taran's capture.Of course, no one really believed Taran to be a mad rogue.Mad rogues are usually hard to contain and is constantly a threat to others AND themselves. Taran appears in front of them all the time, and he was calm as it comes.I soon submitted all the evidence I could manage to prove that Stone provoked us by entering our pack and trying to hurt Willa, but the evidence met no response from the Treaty's end. Though I kept on pushing them for a result, I wasn't really relying on that to make any progress.Willa had been sullen for days ever since we came back. Though she'd try to hide that in front of me, she was bad at it. I didn't need to
Kirsch's POV"You are not Nox!" I gasped at the sudden realization. She was NOT the simple cute little wolf I had been talking to. Though a bit mad and capricious, Nox was never evil and cruel."Ohh I AM," She nodded, still with that evil smirk, "I'm the REAL Nox, the one and only, actually.""You got your memory back?! How?" I blurted. My blood ran cold."Come on, you know why." Nox rolled her eyes before she grabbed my collar. I took ahold of her wrist and pulled her away. To my surprise, she didn't fight me, but just let me pulled her wrist off."It's the new moon!" I jerked my head up at the sudden realization. The sky was shining in the light of the stars. No moon."You met Taran on the last new moon!" I shouted, rising her arm over her head, "YOU are his secret resources of all the information and the reason of his weird actions!""We are playing a game." Nox grinned as she leaned into me. There was a shade of sexy
Taran's POVI told Willa she slept through the last new moon when Nox put her in deep sleep.Though a bit surprised that Nox's memory could wake up during the new moon, it wasn't as shocking as what she told me--Of all their lives, they had never been able to mark each other ever since their first life. From Cerberus's reaction, I could tell that it was mostly because Nox wouldn't take his mark because of her human parts, but she wouldn't admit that. But she wanted to mark Cerberus. He was her "possession", according to her.Except for this time I let Kirsch mark us first.Of course, the solution was easy--With Kirsch's death she would be able to mark us, but I couldn't make that choice, so I made a deal with Nox--I keep the truth to myself while she tried to lure Kirsch to get his mark back from me. Actually, Nox couldn't use her Alpha Aura on any wolf through the mindlink. Alpha Aura only works face to face, but she seemed
Hi Everyone~ Sorry that I have gone missing for days, I feel horrible about it. My editor has been pushing me on a new book cause apparently this one is not doing too well. It's not like I don't like a challenge, but I tried to keep both of them up, but I can't seem to do it well. I wrote stuff for this book as well, and I wanted to publish them, but they just didn't feel right and I have been struggling. But of course, none of these are enough excuses why I have been hiding from you for so long, I only wanted to explain the situation. I will finish this story, and I do have a lot planned for this book. I will try to update daily from here, and I'll send a note at least if I have to miss a day so you won't be waiting. Love you guys to stay on this journey with me, and I hope we can see it to a good end. Nyx Rai PS I'll update the rest of the book as free chapters in this month, just to say sorry. It's possible that my editor would ask me to change them into charging ones in the
Kirsch's POV "You are joking, right?" I asked. Nox broke us out of the mindlink before she came closer. Something told me she wasn't joking. "I know you have been in agony for so long, but that's your King you just sentenced to death, Nox," I backed as I tried to reason with her, "you already have him this time, Nox, make it right." "Our souls are bonded, so we are bound to be together." Nox ignored me with sparkles in her eyes, though she didn't at all share the innocent and lively light as Willa, her postures gave out a natural vibe of dominance and elegancy. I gulped unconsciously. "Let me mark you," Nox shifted her paws with an evil grin, "You own me that, you marked my mate." "That's very reasonable," I backed as I tried to mindlink Taran but it was an effort in vain, "but don't you think it makes more sense if you mark him instead of me so that you can at least get half of the mate mark with him? I mean--" Nox jumped at me and I shited to run, only to be stopped by two hu
Kirsch's POV "Wait, no!" I blurted at Nox's words when she suddenly shifted her claw and swung at Taran. I jumped forward at Taran to shield him but he pushed me aside and let Nox's claw fell on his chest. Nox burst into laughters as she shifted her claw back at the last second. "You are the one I want to kill, silly," Nox turned to me with a smirk as she hung herself on Taran's neck. Taran sighed with a resighed smile-- "Naughty little wolf, stop scaring him." "Mark me and I'll stop." Nox turned to Taran, "You can mark me without the little girl." "I can't, love," Taran caressed her cheek gently, "the mark won't stay with Willa in the deep sleep." "But I--" Nox frowned, but before she could say anything else, her posture froze for a moment before she glanced at the sky-- The night was almost over. "Willa?" Taran asked in a hesitant tone, and her eyes lost focus for a moment before she mumbled with confusion-- "Where am I?" "You are back!" Taran pulled her into his arms as h
Kirsch's POV "Willa, don't listen to her." I went up to her as Taran shot me a look before he stood bewteen us and the rogues that appeared around us. "I need to know..." Willa mumbled in a blank face, still shocked. "You don't need to know from Natasha, Willa. If there is anything, we will figure out later. Go with Kirsch and I'll come find you." Taran said with his eyes fixed on Natasha. "No!" Willa shivered at Taran's last words. Frankly speaking, I didn't like his plan either. There was no telling what the evil Nox had prepared for us, leaving her minions here. "You shifted for the first time when you were seven, and you wiped out your whole pack." Natasha sneered coldly as she went on, "Do you want to know what you did to your own parents? How many pieces did you tear them --" "She's your Alpha now, Natasha," Taran rose his voice and cut off Natasha, "I don't think she would be happy with you next new moon when you betray her like this." "Ohh I'm not betraying her," Natasha
