Eve POV

“Let’s drown her”, someone from the group shouted and they all roared together in unison.

I was already short of breath and water was in my eyes, I couldn’t see anyone, everyone and everything was a blur for me. But one thing I was sure of…that I was gonna die today. This was it for me.

Then several hands gripped my body again, I could feel their hands on me, they had me pinned. And then a hand grabbed my hair roughly from behind and forced my head down in the water.

I let out a gasp and the cold water went into my mouth and my nostrils, made its way into my body, rendering me unable to breathe. Little bubbles formed inside the water as I tried to breathe. I did try to use my hands and feet to break free, to kick them off of me but they were so many and their grip was strong and I was sure of my death now. I was giving up, my body was giving up…. I was going to drown and it'd be over any minute now.

There were several wolfs who had started howling nearby but the group ignored that and continued with ending my life, constantly putting pressure on my head and keeping it in the water.

But then they stopped, they stopped drowning me and I seized that moment and finally lifted my head out of the cold water, and gasped for air.

Even though my body was still deep in the water I was glad to be out of that nightmare. I was breathing heavily. I managed to get out and collapsed on the grass near the lake.

My clothes were soaking wet, water was dripping down from them as I laid there quietly looking up at the people that had just decided to end my life.

My vision was clearing up and I could see the group was not cheerful as they were moments ago drowning me. They were staring at the trees in the woods. Something was amiss. They looked genuinely scared right now. I couldn’t understand what possibly could have scared these savages.

I could hear more howls and the pounding of paws on the ground. The ground was shaking or maybe it was me shaking. It looked like some wolves were headed our way.

All of a sudden the leaves on the trees started rustling and out came a big black Wolf followed by others and they growled at the group. The Black Wolf was huge. I didn’t know them at all, they were all huge. I had never seen those wolves on our pack but I was glad they showed up. I had a feeling that now I’ll be saved.

When all of them saw this new wolf pack and especially the big black one the bullies paused to look at each other and decided to run but the wolves had them covered from all angles. They were left with no way to escape.

They kept growling at them, all the students were scared of this, and then Sam took charge and they decided it was best to shift too. They shifted. Meanwhile, a caramel-colored wolf grabbed my arm in its jaws and pulled me away from the lake, I was almost unconscious. I guess he wanted me to stay away from harm’s way.

The weather had turned surprisingly cold, and strong winds had started blowing making the trees and leaves sway. Then with one loud thunder, the rain started pouring. The ground had gotten wet and you could see the breaths of each wolf in a smoke form.

Both packs were circling each other, sizing up for the battle, their paws were crushing the leaves underneath them. I could hear that crunching sound. Their long white teeth were visible, clearly a sign to warn one another of their strength.

Now both packs were growling at each other. Both the packs were waiting for one another to make the first move.

A big black wolf came forward staring right at Sam, daring him to make the move soon enough Sam took the bait, and Sam’s Wolf lunged for the big black one, the black wolf dodged his attack and took Sam’s paw in its jaw and flung him over the trees, seeing all this the rest of my pack decided against fighting and went to see Sam.

Sam’s wolf got up in a flash even though I could see blood coming out of his paw. He growled at the other pack angrily and once again went running straight into the black wolf. It thundered as soon as they collided with a bang. I heard bones snapping maybe.

Sam was hurt again from hitting the black wolf head-on and collapsed to the ground. The black wolf slowly went to him his whole black fur was soaked in rain and water was dripping down from it. He paused and looked down at Sam who was now on the ground hurt and looking up at the giant of a wolf.

I couldn’t see anything clearly now. My breathing was getting shallow and shallow, and the last thing I saw was something black with glowing eyes touching my face with its nose and licking my cheeks. Then I passed out.

We drove for what felt like hours and hours with no end in sight. Many times I woke up and then dozed off again but dad kept on driving the car on unknown roads in the woods, at least they were unknown to me. He seemed to have no difficulty navigating through them. The whole way my mom kept glancing backward as though she was expecting the chase or she was afraid that someone was following us. I saw fear in her eyes.It was unusually quiet in the car and I hated it. My parents were always chatting even in the worst of times but now just silence.“Mom…I…” I tried to say something but my mother shoot me a serious look which meant only one thing…..to be quiet. So I simply decided to sleep again as my wounds from earlier had started to ache once more.I felt a jerk and woke up. As I looked outside the Sun was shining. Finally, we arrived at the far side of the woods. It felt nice to see light after the endless dark of the night.I could see two people in the distance approaching our car.

“Mom, what new pack?” I asked her.“Eve dear, I think it is time you know the truth, we owe you this much”, mom said with sadness in her voice.“What truth?” I wanted to know everything. Mom heaved a sigh.“By now you might know that you are wolfless, your wolf has not shown up and you are almost of age”, I knew that now so the news didn’t hurt me as it should have.“In order to protect you and your life from our previous pack we decided to join a new pack”, mom explained further.“Our ex Alpha would have forced us to abandon you and then your life would be over, cause no wolf can survive without a pack,” mom said with tears in her eyes. I wiped her face.“We could never abandon you even if our lives are put at stake, so we ditched them, I know it is treason to abandon your pack, but the choice was you or the pack and we choose you”, She said and hugged me tightly. I started crying again.“There, there, everything is alright now Eve my sweetheart, in this new pack no one will threaten

We drove through the woods following the car of the new pack guys. And finally, we reached our destination. There was a big clearing in the middle of the woods. Right in the middle stood a very tall mansion. All in black. It sort of terrorizes you if you saw it at night. I was clearly afraid of stepping into it.Our cars parked a little distance away from the tall black building. The Gennady and Jose got out of their cars and motioned us to do the same and keep following us. I didn’t like it one bit. Everything around here seemed weird. My heart was pounding loudly as I got down from my car and followed my mom closely. I had tightly wrapped a shawl around me my mom gave me before getting out.The grass was even and neatly cut. As we got closer to the mansion I noticed trees around it which formed a sort of border, and in those trees were birds of all kinds chirping away enjoying the sunlight and going about their business. I quite liked that sight, so I relaxed a bit.We were not take

After a few minutes, my eyes adjusted to the dark and I could make out a hundred wolf eyes staring at us. I thought I shit my pants. Mom held my hands a bit more tightly I thought she was going to crush my fingers. The wooden door opened with a creak you hear in horror movies, and I could see golden light coming out. Three hooded figures with torches ablaze circled another massive figure. I had never seen such a ritual in my life. I was part of the pack too but never had I witnessed this. The new group of hooded figures moved closer and when it was a few feet away from us they stopped in their tracks. They broke the circle and from the middle, the fourth hooded person took off his hood. And what I saw made me instantly fall in love with him. I was in the middle of a field. All around me was grain ready to harvest it was about waist high and I could touch it and feel each and every little golden wheat stem just swaying so freely with the air. A spring afternoon, almost time for sunset. I could see the sun trying its best to hide behind the trees in the distance but still had enough light to illuminate the whole vast field in front of my eyes.I could hear the birds chirping away returning to their nests, where their little children were waiting for them. They probably had little chats amongst them in those sweet melodious voices of theirs with their younglings. And I wondered what would they talk about maybe they’d tell them how difficult it was to get that worm from the field because a snake was just hiding in the bushes to get them, or maybe they won’t have any talks and would tell them to go to bed immediately and no talking back.“Ha Ha Ha,” A laugh issued from my mouth.“How silly I am, birds can’t talk,”The sun was

Eve’s footsteps echoed from the cold marble walls as she walked through the gothic hallway of the old castle. The dark halls made her heart beat faster and faster, adrenalin pumping as she kept walking. The stillness was filling the atmosphere with cold. The loneliness of every single step became a true burden, and she was convinced that she was being watched; her gaze darting from one shadow to another, thrown by the flickering meagre candlelight that was cast against the walls, the patterns and patterns of light jumping in front of her eyes. The longer she stayed in this place, the more it began to feel less like the opulent residence it once was and more like a tomb to some long lost victim.Every squeak of the floorboards, every shift of the wind rattling against the cracks of the walls, brought her a new message, a vague, eerie warning that she was not alone. She ran to get a grip, goosebumps all over her.Her steps faltered momentarily, her eyes darting around, searching for any

Maybe her mother was right, she should not have meddled in this whole Maverick affair.“Stupid Eve, you just couldn’t stay put,” She said to herself.“You just had to be the one to rescue M”“You just had to be the righteous one”“And a big fuck you to you Maverick, look what you have made me do”“Silly little thing you are Eve”, she kept talking to herself. She took down her glasses. “Why?” mom asked her.“Because they took Maverick that’s why…I mean why is everybody acting like nothing wrong happened today?” Eve said frustratingly as she wrestled to break her sweet corn into two pieces.“Listen dear we have had enough of our own troubles, we don’t need this too,” Mom warned her as she put on her glasses and resumed her typing.“I don’t think so, you guys can stay silent at all this, it’s your choice but I won’t,” Eve said.“Your father called specifically instructing me to keep you away from all this,” Mom said without looking at her.“FINE” Eve yelled

Lexy was still fast asleep her clothes discarded around her.Alpha picked up her shirt and pants, and threw them toward her.“Hey wake up, we should move,” Alpha said, he was really feeling the cold air ripping through him. He had discarded his clothes in a nearby tree before shifting. Lexy didn’t move. She was oblivious to what was happening around her.Alpha quickly searched for his clothes and finally found them beside a tree. He put them on and went to wake up Lexy.“Vampire, come on, wake up,” he gently touched her face. Lexy stirred in her sleep and opened her eyes dreamily. Alpha adored that.“You don’t know my name, really?” Lexy said and got up.“I…yes I still don’t know,” Alpha shied away from her.“too bad, you have to try harder next time,” Lexy said as she put on her clothes.“What d

Alpha Ares stood in the heart of the magical dungeon, his imposing figure shrouded by a cloak that seemed to be woven from the fabric of darkness itself. The cloak, black as a moonless night, billowed around him, its edges seemingly dancing in an otherworldly breeze. It exuded an aura of dread and malevolence, as if it were a living entity feeding on the fears of those who dared to gaze upon it.The fabric of the cloak appeared to ripple and shift, like shadows playing upon the surface of water. It possessed an uncanny depth, absorbing the feeble light that trickled into the dungeon from a mystical well adorned with the white glow of the moon. The cloak's darkness seemed to drink in the luminescence, creating an eerie contrast that heightened the sense of unease. As Alpha Ares' piercing gaze fell upon the stone table, his attention was drawn to the figure lying upon it—Maverick, trapped in the prison of his own mind. Ares' eyes, cold and calculating, were tinged with a glimmer of pity

There was an unexplainable stench of decay which was lingering heavily in the air, one couldn’t breathe in there, and every breath within the hopeless stone corridors of the dungeons was depressing. Dim torches flickered, casting eerie shadows on the damp, moss-covered walls. A chilling silence enveloped the space, broken only by distant, muffled cries of anguish that echoed through the abyss. As Maverick was mercilessly dragged along, the huge shackles with which he was bound kept on clinking with every agonizing step, and the poor soul could really feel the cold dampness of it seeping into his very bones. The corridor kept on going with no end in sight, a maze of despair that twisted and turned, offering no glimpse of hope or escape. All he could see was darkness consuming him little by little, making him feel as if he was slowly being dragged down into hell itself. The dungeon cells, like cages of despair, lined the corridor. Grotesque stains of blood and filth adorned the walls,

Eve and Sandra reached the school grounds and all they could see was a little tornado moving from one side of the ground to the other without any set pattern.Several of the warrior clan werewolves were chasing it including Beta but it was too fast. A swirling vortex of dark clouds materialized above the tornado, crackling with electric energy. The wind was spiraling and howling. It was too risky to get close but surprisingly Beta and pack members were still trying to catch it somehow.“What in the actual F…is happening here?” Sandra exclaimed, mouth gaping. Eve had the same reaction. Students on the grounds were running back toward the school building, some cheering, some screaming. It was chaos.“Look a hand,” Eve pointed to a hand that was visible for only a split second in the tornado.“What?”“Where”“Look, there….” Eve pointed again. The dust once settled and undisturbed, now danced and twirled in chaotic harmony, caught within the powerful currents of the tornado's wrath.“Shit
