Just as she was about to get into the carriage, Vera called her unexpectedly.

" Anabelle! Where are you heading to?"

" Shit!" Anabelle muttered a curse beneath her breath, and she gave out an awkward smile, turning back to her mother.

" Mother, I have to go and see someone now," she said and faced her mother.

" Who?" Vera arched her brows suspiciously. " I know you don't have friends Anabelle, and you aren't talking to the Beta anymore. The Alpha also doesn't want to see you, so who exactly are you going to see?" She cornered her and stepped closer to her.
