Chapter 21. Worried Elders

Anabelle and her mother, Vera, were at the dinning room with Arnold, who was absentmindedly chewing, frequently gazing into space.

This attracted their attention, and they glanced at each other, before Vera placed her hand above Arnold's hand.

She cleared her throat. " Is there something bothering you, Arnold?" Asked Vera, with eyes full of concern.

" No, it's nothing. I am just thinking about the pack welfare."

" Why? Father, is something bad going to happen?" Anabelle was curious and interested, her brows raising..

" Something bad has been happening," Arnold replied back to his daughter and drank a mouthful of water. " Alpha Zayn is still yet to have a mate, and it is affecting the pack greatly. Even the elders are annoyed, and this might lead to Alpha Zayn's dethronement." He stood up and adjusted his doublet.
