Sandra’s POV

I watched my brother, Michael, pace back and forth in his office, his eyes filled with worry. His mate, Ruth, had left the pack, and he was heartbroken. I couldn't help but feel sorry for him.

The last time we saw Ruth was at John's pack, and she had said she would come back when she wanted to. But I knew my brother was hurting, and I didn't know how to help him.

As for me, I had found another mate, Edison, after being rejected by my first mate. But I hadn't accepted him yet, because he was a cousin to Victor, and Victor and my brother were enemies. It was all so complicated.

But despite the complications, I couldn't deny the attraction I felt towards Edison. We had been having a sexual relationship, and it was intense. But I knew I couldn't let my emotions get involved, not yet.
