Ruth’s POV

Jennifer was home for her semester break, and I had been looking forward to meeting her. John had told me a lot about his mate, who had been studying in China. When she walked into the kitchen, I felt a sense of familiarity, despite having never met her before. John had prepared me for her visit, and I was eager to get to know her.

I wasn't expecting to see her because John didn’t tell me she will be coming soon.

I tried to brush it off, thinking she just wanted to chat, but the look in her eyes told me otherwise.
