~Aria~

So I waved away Mom and then I turned, took Luca’s hand, and stepped into the car. The door closed with a soft thud, cutting off the music and voices behind us.

The drive started, and the world outside blurred.

Now i was with a beast. A beast I've committed the rest of my life with.

The drive felt longer than it was.

I was too aware of the silence sitting between me and Luca, the low hum of the car engine the only thing filling the space. Every time I glanced out the window, the forest seemed to press in tighter, the trees growing taller, their shadows darker.

I knew we were getting close.

“Don't try what you did at the wedding ever again.” Luca’s cold voice broke the silence.

“Excuse me?” I asked, a little confused.

“You almost made a fool of me! Don't you dare try that ever again.” He raised his voice, his tone harsh.

My heart skipped a beat, the fear gripped me.

“... Fine.” I answered softly.

“I'm sorry for the tone.” Luca sighed, his tone now more friendly.

Did he just apol

~Aria~“Cut that crap attitude. You either come down for dinner and eat with us or let Visha make your stay here a living hell. It’s your call.”Luca’s voice was low, but the warning was clear.I nodded, forcing a tight smile. “Okay.”The room thundered as he shot the door behind him.I stayed frozen, my heart still racing. What the hell just happened? The vision—those wolves—was like the library all over again. And those eyes... the same. White wolves. The rarest. The strongest. And the most beautiful species of werewolves ever known. But why me? Why now? And why only white wolves?I shook my head. I didn’t have time to figure that out—not tonight.I needed to get to dinner. The last thing I wanted was to make enemies, especially with my husband’s stepmother, on my first night.I pulled off my wedding gown and stepped into a nice shower. As the water streamed down on my body, I scrubbed away the makeup on my face and then my whole body. After a hectic day like today, from the weddin

~Luca~Dinner was a fucking circus. It always was in this house.Every glance, every carefully placed word—it was all part of the show. A goddamn performance Visha had perfected long before I even understood what the game was.I knew what tonight would be before we even stepped into that dining room. I felt it the second I laid my hand on Aria’s back, guiding her inside like she needed me to hold her up. Maybe she did.She was nervous. I could feel it in the way her shoulders tightened under my palm. Hell, I couldn’t blame her. She had no idea what she’d walked into.Visha was already seated when we reached. Turning to us, she took a small sip from my glass of wine and then her lips curled up into a smile. The kind of smile that made you feel small before she even said a word.I pulled out Aria’s chair. She sat stiffly, trying so hard to seem like she belonged. I admired that, even if I knew it was useless. This house, this family... it ate people like her alive.Visha’s eyes lingered

~Luca~I was in my office, when Elijah barged in.Elijah didn’t knock. He never did, but today it grated on me more than usual. The door slammed against the wall, his boots heavy on the floor like he wanted me to hear every damn step.I barely looked up. I was still chewing over this morning—Aria’s face when she shoved past me, that edge in her voice. She hadn’t even looked at me when she left for school. I told myself I didn’t care.I was lying. But Elijah’s face—tight, eyes dark with that fuck, this is bad look—made my stomach twist before he even opened his mouth.“It’s out,” he said, low and sharp. I frowned. “What?”He didn’t explain. Just shoved his phone at me, the screen blaring headlines I didn’t need to read twice.Luca Arkim Marries Human – Elders Kept in the Dark. AriaI barely made it through the day.School was… noise. That’s the only way I can describe it. Loud, constant, pressing in from every side.Teachers talking but I didn’t catch half of it. People laughing in the hallways but it sounded far away, like I was underwater. Then there were the stares—the ones who knew who I was, what I was married into. The looks were subtle, mostly. Quick glances, lowered voices. But I felt them.Every single one. Some still didn’t know, though. That was almost worse. Some girl in my psych class whispered to her friend, loud enough for me to hear—Why does she act like she’s better than everyone?I wanted to turn around and tell her, I don’t. I just don’t know how to breathe here. But I didn’t say anything.I didn’t say anything all day, actually.By the time I got home, I felt wrung out. My limbs heavy, my brain buzzing but blank at the same time. The house was empty. No Luca.No footsteps, no sound of him moving around in the kitchen, or his low voice on

~Aria~The next morning was worse. So much fucking worse.I woke up feeling like I’d been hit by a truck, then dragged for miles, then maybe hit again just to make sure I stayed down. My whole body ached—my ribs tight, my limbs heavy like concrete—and my head? My head was this foggy, pounding mess, like I hadn’t slept at all, just laid there marinating in panic the entire night. But no.Reality was still here. Heavy. Cold.I dragged myself out of bed, my body felt like I doubled in weight.I walked to the bathroom and turned the water on scalding hot, because why not, and stepped in.It burned.Good.I stood there, eyes closed, steam choking me, hoping maybe it would melt this tightness in my chest, wash away whatever the hell was wrong with me.It didn’t.Nothing ever does.I got dressed like I was assembling a corpse—jeans, hoodie, sneakers. Safe. Basic. Something I didn’t have to think about.I caught my reflection in the mirror and, Jesus, I looked like hell. Pale, dark circles un

~Aria~I woke up to the faint noise of footsteps. Slow. Steady. Familiar. For a moment, I didn’t think. Didn’t remember. Just lay there, warm, tangled in blankets, floating in that quiet space where nothing felt real yet. Then—It hit me.My stomach turned.Today.The Elders. The meeting. The thing I’d been dreading ever since I found out it was coming. My chest felt tight. Too tight.I inhaled, forcing the feeling down, trying to shake the heaviness clinging to me, and then—Oh.Oh, God.My brain short-circuited.Luca was standing by the dresser. Shirtless. Back to me. Muscles shifting as he moved. Not just shirtless—just a towel. Slung low on his hips, barely hanging on, like gravity could win at any second, and—My face burned.I immediately looked away, like I hadn’t just looked. Like my brain hadn’t just cataloged everything. The scars along his back, some deep, some faint. The way the morning light caught his skin, made him look even sharper, even broader. ~Aria~I swallowed, but my throat was dry, scratchy, like my body already knew I was somewhere I didn’t belong.“I—I’m Aria.”Alpha Female Elena smiled, and it wasn’t just polite. It was knowing. Like she already had the answer before I even spoke. Like she already knew everything.“I know,” she said, smooth, warm, completely at ease.“Come.”And then she turned and walked off. Just like that. No hesitation. No waiting to see if I’d follow.I hesitated.Only for a second. Then I forced my feet to move. The halls stretched forever, golden light slanting through windows so tall they felt impossible. The doors we passed were carved with strange symbols, some I swore shifted when I glanced too quickly. The air smelled like stone and something faintly sweet—maybe flowers from outside, maybe something older. The servants we passed all dipped their heads when Elena walked by, their movements so smooth, so synchronized, like they’d practiced a thousand times. Not just Luca’s sister. An Alpha

~Luca~I stepped through the castle doors, the weight of everything pressing down on my shoulders. But I didn’t show it. Wouldn’t.The second I walked in, every gaze snapped to me.The guards stiffened. The servants lowered their heads. The air fucking changed. Because I was home. And everyone knew what that meant.Aria was a step behind me. Silent. Tense.Too stiff, too wary. She should be.This place? It chewed people up. Spit them out.And Aria? She had no clue what she’d walked into. But I didn’t have time to ease her into it.Boots against stone. Sharp. Purposeful.Elijah.My Beta. Eyes flicked to Aria—assessing, always fucking assessing—then landed on me.“We need to talk.”I nodded once. Then, to Aria, “I won’t be long.”She hesitated. Like she wanted to say something.Didn’t.Just nodded.I turned and followed Elijah down the hall. The meeting room was dim, shadows stretching too far, wall sconces doing jack shit to brighten the space.Arkif was already there, arms crossed, fa

Luca’s POVElijah’s eyes narrowed, jaw tight like he was seconds from snapping.“What?” His voice came out low, dangerous. “He wants to burn it all? Everything we’ve bled for?”I spun around, too pissed to hold it in any longer. “He said he’d rather watch the pack fall apart than see me on the throne,” I snapped. “And if I don’t bow to him, if I don’t let it all go to hell, he’s gonna rip me off that throne himself.”Elijah’s face twisted, rage crawling up his spine like wildfire.“That fucking bastard,” he hissed, eyes blazing. “I knew it. I fucking knew he was playing you, playing everyone. Goddamn snake.”I let out this broken laugh—bitter, tired, all teeth. “I’m screwed, Elijah. The council’s blind or bought, and now Julian’s breathing down my neck with threats. And what if… what if he’s the one behind Elena? What if he did that too, just to screw with me?”The silence cracked around us, heavy and sharp. Elijah’s fist slammed into the wall, hard enough to leave a dent. The noise e

Luca’s POV “Why?” I didn’t care if I was shouting now, didn’t care if they tried to strike me down. “Why the hell is he still here?”Thorne, the elder who read out Julian’s offenses, locked eyes with me. His face was unreadable, but I could see it—he was tense. His breath came slow, measured.“Luca…” he said, like he was warning me. But I didn’t want to be warned. I wanted answers, damn it.“Tell me why! After everything? You saw what he did—what he tried to do! Why the hell is he still here? After everything? He doesn’t deserve a second chance.”Aldric, standing by the window, turned to face me. His expression was calm, too calm, but his eyes said everything—he was carrying the weight of something I wasn’t understanding.“We’re not here to satisfy your rage, Luca,” he said, voice firm, but he didn’t soften. “We’re here to balance the scales.”“Balance the scales?” I barked. “By keeping a traitor alive? A man who tried to destroy everything this kingdom stands for?”“It’s more than t

  • Luna’s Second Chance    Chapter 46

Aria's POVI sat up fast, heart knocking against my ribs like it wanted out. A knock. Low. Two times. Quiet. Too quiet. My gut clenched.Who the hell...?I walked to the door. Julian.Of course. He stood there like he owned the hallway, all smooth posture and that infuriating calm in his eyes. Like none of this chaos touched him. Like my best friend wasn’t fighting for her life in the next wing.“What do you want?” I snapped, voice low and sharp. He blinked, as if offended I hadn’t rolled out a carpet for him. “Just wanted to talk.”I scoffed. “Now? Really? You think I want to talk to you right now?”He tilted his head, that fake-soft concern bleeding into his features. “You look tired.”“Thanks. You look like trouble.”His lips twitched like he wanted to smile but thought better of it. “I just thought maybe you’d want some clarity. Some truth.”“Truth?” I stepped out, pulling the door halfway shut behind me. “From you? That’s rich.”Julian didn’t flinch. Just stood there, letting my

Luca’s POV I shifted in my seat, fingers digging into the edge of the parchment like it might hold me steady. It didn’t. The air in the council chamber was suffocating—tight, heavy, filled with this tension that sat between my ribs and refused to move. They were all watching me, waiting. I could feel it in my skin. And I hated this. Hated being the one to read out every damn ugly thing he’d done. My brother.“Julian,” I said, voice rough, almost cracking. “In addition to abusing his power, he committed treason. He tried to kill the Alpha—our father—and steal the throne.”Still, I couldn’t look at him. Couldn’t bear the sight of that smug face. That stupid half-smile he always wore like he knew something no one else did. He didn’t flinch. Didn’t even twitch. Just leaned forward, calm as hell, like he was about to order a drink at a bar.“I didn’t conspire in secret, Luca,” he said, smooth as ever. “I didn’t plot in the dark. I challenged our father openly. It was a mistake, yeah. A re

  • Luna’s Second Chance    Chapter 44

Luca’s POVFifty-fifty? I felt like the world had tilted. How could this be real?I took a deep breath. “She can’t—she can’t die. She’s not... she’s not supposed to be in this kind of danger. Not after everything. Not after everything we’ve done.”Aria moved closer, her expression just as tormented, her hands shaking. “Luca, she’s strong. You know she is.” Her voice cracked. “But right now, it’s out of our hands. The maesters have done everything they can. Now, we just have to wait.” “No,” I muttered to myself. “She has to wake up. She’s been through too much already.”“She’s strong,” Aria repeated, her voice softer now, almost as if trying to convince both of us. “She’ll pull through. She has to.”I didn’t know what to believe anymore. I wanted to believe her. But the look on the maesters’ faces, their worried glances, told a different story.I exhaled. I couldn’t let this happen. Not after everything we had fought for.“We’ll wait,” I said, my voice hoarse. “We’ll wait, and

Luca’s POV The chamber was stifling. I sat on the edge of the long table. My mind wouldn’t shut up.Julian.That bastard walking in here like he belonged, like history hadn’t been written in blood between us. Like he hadn’t thrown everything away for his own damn ego.The door opened. I snapped my head up. Elijah. He closed the door quietly. “You going to say it?” I muttered, staring at nothing. Elijah stepped forward, arms crossed. “You already know what I think.”I finally turned to look at him, tired, aggravated. “That he’s playing some long game?”Elijah scoffed. “Because he is. And you damn well know it.”I exhaled through my nose, shaking my head. “I need to be sure.”“Sure of what?” He moved closer, voice dipping into something more aggressive. “That the snake is still a snake?”Before I could respond, the sound cut through the tension.Faint. Almost nothing. But my body reacted before my brain did.A cry.A cough. Not just any cough—wet, rough, tearing.Something was wr

  • Luna’s Second Chance    Chapter 42

Aria's POV The air in the dining room was thick and suffocating. No one spoke. No one breathed. My fingers curled tight around the edge of my plate, stomach twisting. I wasn’t hungry. Not for this. Not for whatever the hell this was.Julian sat there like he belonged. Like he hadn’t just walked back in after years with that smug, infuriating grin and bullshit about making amends.Elijah was too quiet. Elena kept flicking glances between Luca and Julian, her expression unreadable. And Luca—Luca was a storm about to break. His jaw locked tight, fists clenched on the table, every muscle coiled like he was ready to lunge across the damn thing and tear Julian apart with his bare hands.Julian just smiled.“I came here to make amends,” he said, smooth as ever, swirling his wine like we were at some casual fucking dinner and not a goddamn battlefield. “To prove I’ve changed.”Silence. Thick. Heavy. A warning wrapped around my ribs, cold and sharp.Luca leaned back, voice like ice. “Then

  • Luna’s Second Chance    Chapter 41

Luca’s POV The dining hall felt too damn small. Too tight. Like the walls were pressing in, shoving the air out of my lungs. The long wooden table was set, food spread out like some grand feast—except no one was really eating. Just the occasional scrape of cutlery, the kind of sound that made the tension worse, thick enough to choke on.Julian sat across from me, lounging like he belonged here, like this wasn’t my pack, my castle. He looked the same—sharp, amused eyes, that lazy smirk that never quite reached them. But there was something... off. A weight to him. Something coiled and waiting, something dangerous. To my right, Elijah was rigid, fork in hand but unmoving, his gaze flicking between me and Julian like he was waiting for the first strike. Next to him, Elena kept her expression flat, but I saw the restless tap of her fingers against her thigh. She knew. We all did.And then there was Aria.Across from me. Next to him. Too close. That burned. She was actually eating, slow,

  • Luna’s Second Chance    Chapter 40

Luca’s POVThe castle loomed ahead, but it felt farther than it should. My head was a mess, thoughts colliding too fast, too loud. Elijah’s words still clung to me like a damn shadow."Now it’s up to you."Like I didn’t already know that. Like it wasn’t already twisting in my gut, pulling at something I didn’t want to look at too closely. And then—Aria. She was walking up from the other side, eyes locking onto mine before she even realized it.Something in my chest went tight.Elijah didn’t say a word, just glanced between us and then walked off, leaving us standing there. Alone.I swallowed. "Aria.""Luca."Silence stretched between us, thick, heavy. I could see the exhaustion on her face. Hell, I felt it in my own bones."The antidote?" My voice was rougher than I meant it to be.She nodded. "It's working so far."A pause. Too much weight between the words.I studied her, the way her arms crossed, the way she avoided my eyes for just a second too long. She was still thinking about i
