Maverick Peterson POV
I fought back the sickening feeling as I searched through the bond for my parents. They weren't responding, and I couldn't get a lock on them. Something was interfering with our bond, which was something I hadn't thought possible.
Recalling Willow's concern, I scolded myself for not taking her concerns seriously. No matter how unlikely something like this would happen, I should have done something to allay her nerves.
We could have asked them to do daily updates or at least weekly updates instead of whenever they felt like it, even if there was nothing for them to say. A simple hello would have sufficed. Then something like this wouldn't have happened.
With no way of tracking them down, I couldn't teleport to them and bring the knights to support them. Attempting to search for them was pointless as they could be anywhere. They could even be in another country.

Willow Baker POVWhen I heard the kick to the door, I thought it was my imagination playing tricks on me. With the bond messing with my head, it was hard to think straight, so I didn't think anything of it.After all, who would be trying so desperately to get inside? If it was one of the servants, they would have just knocked on the door. In fact, that was the normal thing to do, whether or not the door was locked. The only reason I can think of for someone trying to kick the door down was that they were trying to break in.Normally, I wouldn't even consider that as an option. The intruder would have to get past all the knights and servants without being detected, or else we would have heard a scuffle by now. Banging or kicking a door seemed counterproductive. However, this wasn't a normal situation. Everyone was distracted by the bond. It was possible that this whole thing had been a ploy to get t
Willow Baker POVDays LaterEverything was a blur. The days all blended together, but I couldn't bring myself to care. All I could think about was how everyone was gone. The Grand Duke, the Grand Duchess, Sheila, and Rickey were all gone.Every time I thought about them, I would feel the tears come back, but it had been slowly happening less and less. It was like my tears were drying up, leaving only numbness behind.I couldn't even bring myself to get any work done, even though it had been piling up. All my energy was spent caring for Asa and lying in bed. If Asa didn't need me, then I didn't have the strength to move.'Willow, you need to get up.'Ignoring Winter, I stared blankly up at the ceiling. Asa was currently napping, leaving me alone to simply exist. There was nothing to stimulate my mind or capture my attention.'Willow, ser
Maverick Peterson POV'Who would have thought she held such a dark secret?'I frowned as I stared down at Willow's sleeping form. She had completely exhausted herself. I wiped away the tear tracks from her face as my mind went over what I had just learned.Never would I have imagined something so fantastical as time travel. That was the only possible explanation for what had happened to her. If it was reincarnation, I wouldn't have found it as unbelievable. But why would the Moon Goddess help her, let alone mess with time? She was the only one I could think of who could perform this kind of miracle. It couldn't even be considered magic. Even with magic, something like this was something I could only dream of ever accomplishing. It was also well known that the Moon Goddess favored the purebred werewolves since they were hers. Werewolves with angel blood or demon blood were still
Willow Baker POVSeveral Days Later'I'm so dead.'I couldn't believe I had just spilled everything I had been hiding from Maverick to his face, not in front of his face. Now he knew everything, including how I had lied and tricked him into marrying me for protection.Would he have me killed or punish me in some way?If he did, I wouldn't be surprised. After all, if I had told him everything sooner, maybe his parents, Sheila, and Rickey would still be here. They wouldn't have gone on their vacation and had gotten killed.'You can't know that. Did you forget last time that they were already gone by this time?''It doesn't change the fact that he has no reason to trust me. He has every reason to kick me out.''If he does try, then I'll make him regret it.'For all her words, there wasn't much s
Willow Baker POV"Maverick hasn't done anything to you, has he?" Diana asked, staring at me intently.I choked a little on my tea as it spilled out of my cup. When she dragged me out into the garden to have a small tea party, I hadn't expected her to ask that question out of the blue.'Who starts a conversation like that?''Diana apparently.'Fortunately, I didn't spill anything on Asa, who was nodding along on my lap. She was still groggy from accidentally waking up from her nap early when I had picked her up from the crib, though I had tried to lull her back to sleep.wiping my mouth and the mess I had made, I said, "No."Undeterred by my words, she said, "You don't have to lie. He isn't here to force you to do anything."She was still clinging to that idea. In the beginning, I understood that he hadn't made a great impression on her after hearing our story, but by now, she should have eased up a little on that. If anything, it felt like it had increased in intensity.'What could ha
Willow Baker POVThe problem was that I had no clue how to make amends. Despite how long I had been there, I still had no clue about his likes or dislikes or even his hobbies. If someone asked me what his favorite food was or what he liked to do in his spare time, I wouldn't tell them.Without that information, how was I supposed to do anything? There was no way I could ask the person in question, nor could I ask the servants or knights. This only left Jason, Maverick's brother, but though we did occasionally talk, I didn't think we were that close where I could just set up a meeting out of the blue.If I wanted to talk to him about Maverick, there was someone I could ask who was currently sitting in front of me. However, I doubt if she was willing to help me with this considering what we were talking about. If Winter were still here, I would have asked her what were the chances of me being able to
Maverick Peterson POVSeveral Days Later'She's up to something.'I frowned as I agreed with Shadow. Willow had been acting strangely since she had met up with Diana. Of course, considering how we hadn't spent much time together outside the minimum, I wasn't sure how much of it was from the talk or just in general. It was possible her current behavior was just the result of one of her moods. If that was the case, then I could just wait it out. Then she would hopefully return to normal. That didn't get rid of my curiosity regarding the secret conversation they had. I wasn't sure what they talked about, but given the strange looks Jason was giving me afterward, it couldn't be anything good.
Willow Baker POVSeveral Minutes Earlier"Are you sure this is going to work?" I asked, as I was having second thoughts after hearing what she had to say.Diana nodded her head furiously. "Of course I'm positive. I'll distract Maverick, and you'll speak with Jason. If anyone asks, we'll just tell them I asked you to get something from my room while Jason is there. No one would suspect a thing."The plan seemed so simple, but at the same time I couldn't stop thinking about how it was going to all go wrong. When I had allowed her to come up with a plan, I had thought it would be more well thought out.If this was all she had, then we didn't have to wait so long to act on it. We could have done it the moment she had thought of it. If she had only thought of it recently, then I had nothing to say about it.Well, it was a little bit late for me to turn back now. If I told her no, she would insist on knowing why and wouldn't give up until I told her. Once I told her, we will end up arguing
Hello everyone. I just want to thank all my readers, especially those who have been following until the end. It's been a long journey. In fact, I believe this book, from start to finish, took almost 7 months, which is a long time. Again, I'm grateful to have all of you. Now, onto what I intend to do next. I have several ideas, but currently I hope to start on Asa Peterson's story. It's going to be about Willow and Maverick's daughter, but with a twist.Instead of being a direct sequel to Luna's Revenge: Willow Baker's Marriage Request, it follows the first life after Willow dies and basically runs almost parallel with it. As such, there might be some spoilers, but it's not required to read both books. They're both standalones.I really hope to get this story off the ground. However, I do have other stories so we'll see how everything works out.Anyway, thank you all again for reaching the end with me. I hope that you all continue following me and have a great day.
Willow Baker POV A Year Later "Willow, are you ready?" Sheila asked as she, Maverick's mother, and Diana stepped into the room. As I stared at the woman in the mirror, I immediately said, "No." My arms shook as I said, "I really can't do this." "What's wrong?" she asked as she immediately rushed over to me. "I don't think I'm ready to get married," I said as I whirled around in my wedding dress. "Willow," Maverick's mother said as she took my hand. "You've already been part of the family for more than three years. We're only making sure you get the wedding you deserve." 'I can't believe I agreed to go along with this crazy idea. Why do we need to have a wedding when we're already husband and wife?' 'I don't have a clue either. You're the one who agreed to it when Maverick asked to marry you, and he even gave you a chance to back out.' I still had mixed feelings when I recalled that incident. It still boggled my mind that he had asked to marry me when we were already married, a
Willow Baker POV"Yes?" I squeaked.I mean, we were married, so I wasn't sure what he was talking about. However, instead of explaining himself, he smiled brightly at me. His smile blinded me and left me in a daze as he slipped the ring onto my finger.Feeling the metal on my finger, I quickly said, "Wait. What's going on?"His smile dropped as he said, "I proposed. Did you not want to marry me?""That's not what I meant," I said as I held both my hands up. "I mean, aren't we already married?""We are, but I want us to be properly married," he said as he stood up. "All we did was sign some papers and file them to formalize our marriage. I want us to have a wedding. It doesn't have to be big. It can just be us and our families or j
Willow Baker POVA Year LaterStaring up at the night sky, I smiled as I held Maverick's hand. I had used to be embarrassed about holding his hand, but now I found myself reaching out to him whenever I can."It's nice out," I said as we continued to walk through the garden. The only sounds were the sounds of the wind and whatever animals were out and about. Basking in the peaceful atmosphere, I still found it hard to believe a year had passed in the blink of an eye."It is," Maverick said with a smile, and he squeezed my hand."So, what is it you wanted to talk about?" I asked."What makes you think I brought you out here to have a talk?" he asked. "I could just want to spend
Willow Baker POVReaching out to the door, I opened it and was greeted by the sight of a gaunt Lesli. The putrid smell and poor condition nearly made me vomit as I covered my nose and mouth."Ah, Willow, you finally came. I was wondering when you would come," he said as he smiled at me. His smile fell when his eyes spotted Maverick right behind me. "Oh, you're here. I didn't ask for you.""I asked him to be here," I said as I held up my arm before Maverick could raise his voice.Lesli tilted his head to one side as he asked, "Why? Did you think I would do something to you?" When I didn't bother to give him a response, he raised his bandaged and chained arms up for us to see. "I can't exactly do anything to you right now.""I'm sure you'll find a way, but that's not
Willow Baker POVUnfortunately, the beautiful moment was ruined as a servant approached us. We stepped away from each other as Maverick frowned. They knew to leave us alone unless it was a serious matter."My apologies, your graces," the man said as he bowed. "The prisoner is acting up and demanding Willow's presence."There was only one person he could be referring to, but before I could say anything, Maverick said, "Willow will not be seeing him. I should have you punished for your insolence."The man quivered beneath Maverick's bloodlust. Asa squirmed at the sensation, but she didn't become upset like the last time she had been exposed to it. I wasn't sure whether I should be glad or upset.Reaching out to touch his shoulder, I said, "Maverick."
Willow Baker POVSeveral Days LaterLeaning back in my chair, I watched with a smile as Maverick played with Asa, who giggled loudly. For once, we were together not because someone had done something to make it happen, and I was quite happy about it.Maverick finally caught Asa, who laughed even harder when he raised her up into the air. She clapped her hands as they returned back to the table where I was sitting. Asa immediately reached out to me.Standing up, I took her from him, and we both settled down to enjoy the tea and snacks that had been left out. Asa tried to reach for the cookie I had, but I kept it out of arm's reach. She was far too young to be eating them.As I nibbled on the cookie while ignoring Asa's attempts to grab it out of
Willow Baker POVSeveral Hours Later'As you were saying.''I still say it isn't bad.'Of course, she would say that. She wasn't the one who had to endure all the stares as I sat next to Maverick. It was like being surrounded by a pack of hungry wolves, ready to pounce at any moment.Maverick scanned the room before standing. "Now that everyone is here, I believe there is something we need to seriously discuss." His face hardened as he said, "You all need to stop harassing us, especially Willow." Immediately, several people looked offended by his words, but he continued on, "This has gone on long enough.""Maverick, I believe you need to watch yo
Willow Baker POVA Few Weeks LaterAfter what had felt like centuries, I had finally kicked everyone out without being rude. I had thought that would be the end of it. Unfortunately, I had been wrong. I had been so very wrong. It seemed like a fire had been lit, causing the family to work even harder to ensure we were a proper couple. Well, at least the women were. The men had kept out of the whole exchange, and I wasn't sure how to feel about that.On one hand, it was better than having all of them gang up on me and Maverick. On the other hand, they weren't helping us and were choosing to stay on the sidelines. Rickey seemed to take particular glee at my suffering.'At least someone is enjoying themselves.'
