Maverick Peterson POV

The more I heard about Prerana, the more disgusted I felt. No wonder the people there were not mentally stable or criminals.

'That's one way to put it.'

The three people from Prerana were mulling over what they had just learned. Willow seemed to be the most effective, as she kept rocking Asa back and forth almost frantically. I was tempted to take Asa from her, but I was unsure how she would react.

'What's going on in her head?'

"What does that mean for us?" asked Rickey. He continued when he realized we didn't understand his question. "You implied that there's a bunch of packs here. Do we need to join one of them, and what is expected of us?"

It was immediately clear what he was concerned Prerana only had one pack, there had been no procedure for changing packs. It couldn't even be called a pack at this point.

A pack that covered the en

Willow Baker POVWhile it was good that Diana had recovered, my mind couldn't get off of packs. I hadn't thought about joining a pack when I had come up with my plan. I didn't think I needed to, as I thought I wouldn't be welcomed in one even if I did end up as Maverick's wife.It was strange to think that I was going to be part of a pack and a powerful one at that when I had expected to be a rogue for the rest of my life. I wasn't sure what to think of this.'Take it as a gift for what it is. It can only be good to be part of a pack if it's like they say it is.'I wanted to, but it just seemed to be too good to be true. A pack that cared for its members and didn't treat them poorly was a dream come true. That wasn't taken into consideration what it would mean if I did join the pack. Since Maverick was the future Grand Duke and the current Grand Duke was the Alpha of their pack, that would

Willow Baker POVWith Diana being in no condition to participate in the rest of the conversation, it was an unanimous decision to let her rest. Jason led her away, though she was reluctant to leave me alone, especially with Maverick in the same room as me.It was strange to see someone go completely mental just because they heard some of my story. I feared how she would react if I told her everything, which was never going to happen.Well, at least I had another person who would probably help me with my revenge. In fact, considering her strength and current behavior, I wouldn't be surprised if she decided to jump the Wrights and tear them to pieces with her bare hands.'That's something I would pay to see.'Actually, maybe it would be a bad thing to have her willing to help me with my revenge. The sheer mess that she would make would outweigh any good feelings I would have about getting ba

Willow Baker POVI was glad that they didn't stop because of me, but at the same time, it bothered me that they didn't push for me to leave or offer to push the conversation off to another time. I knew it was dumb of me to be thinking this way.'It's not. You have every right to be upset.''They're doing everything in their power to help me. I have no right to complain.''It's your fucking life. Of course you have a right to complain.'Biting down on my lips, I listened vaguely to Rickey explain what he was thinking while the Peterson family added or countered several points. I kept myself occupied by focusing on Asa, with Sheila standing at my side as she had nothing to contribute to the conversation.Soon we had a concrete story we were going to go with that hinged on falsifying my ancestry and how I ended up with my parents. Unfortunately, I had nothing to o

Willow Baker POV"Why would you volunteer us?" demanded Rickey, not attempting to control his voice and showing just how caught off guard he was by her decision.'A fight might break out between them.'That was the last thing I wanted. I already knew from experience what would happen if they ended up having a shouting match. I had to find a way to stop them. Before I could intervene, Maverick raised a hand to hover over my mouth. Immediately, I lurched back to avoid touching his hand and stared at him, wondering what his intentions were.He only shook his head as he lowered his hands. Unsure of what I should do, I turned my attention back onto Sheila and Rickey, who were in the middle of a staring contest."What's wrong with having us as her parents?" Sheila countered."You can't decide that all on your own," Rickey snapped back.Sheila said back, "That's n

Willow Baker POVAwkward was the only thing I could think of. This was definitely far too personal for us to be here, and I was looking for the exits so I could jump ship before it was too late.Maverick shifted uneasily beside me. Despite his blank expression, I suspected he was also as uncomfortable as I was. I still couldn't read the Grand Duke or the Grand Duchess's expressions."Rickey," said Sheila, with a waver in her tone. He didn't respond, choosing to look away from her. "Has this been bothering you this whole time?"Finally, he sighed and said, "I know you want a child, and we've been trying for years without any success. If you had married someone else, you might have had a horde of children by now.""Oh, Rickey," she said as she placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Even if we can't have children, there's no one else I would want to marry."They gazed into each other's eyes. Now I was uncomfortable for a completely different reason."Are you sure you want to do this?

Willow Baker POV'Oh no.''This isn't good.'I had almost forgotten about that, and I had honestly thought what happened earlier would have made everyone forget about it. Unfortunately, it appeared that I was wrong. My first thought was to pretend I didn't know what he was talking about, but it was such a minor thought that it didn't last. I hadn't been one for lying until I had Asa, and even then it was mostly misdirection instead of outright lying. The first time I did lie for real was when I woke up in the past and during the one month of hell. Of course, there was the time with Rickey and Sheila, but it wasn't a total lie. It was more like bending the truth to fit my narrative. Also, I doubted he would appreciate my acting dumb. It was probably best if I told him, but I still wasn't sure which version I should tell him.Should I tell him the story I told

Maverick Peterson POV'Do you really believe what she said? It's a bit farfetched, don't you think?''It does explain a few things.'I was still trying to wrap my head around the Moon Goddess interfering with mortal affairs. That wasn't to say she never did it before, but the cases were few and far between. Now that I knew about her involvement, I could see why Willow was so insistent about asking for my protection. To think she would have died and Asa would be taken away to be raised as a slave if she didn't reach me in time. When I heard about the latter, I swore I would storm right out and track them down and kill them. However, it didn't happen yet, which meant if I did act on my rage, it would appear to be an unprovoked attack. Then we would be the ones painted as the villains.'That's only if we leave any witnesses or evidence.'While that was true, I doubt I would be in the right frame of mind to make sure to clean up after myself if I saw them. Willow Baker POVI wasn't sure what to feel after hearing Prerana finally back off after several weeks of back and forth. Despite how solid of a story we created, they kept insisting that I be brought back. They wanted to interrogate me to make sure I was telling the truth, but the Peterson family insisted that I stay in their care. They made an argument that it wasn't safe for me to go back to Prerana and how they were concerned for my health.Prerana, of course, ignored all those concerns and refused to budge. Even with Sheila and Rickey making an appearance to testify and speak on my behalf, the people from Prerana argued that their words couldn't be trusted.'Bastards. The ones who can't be trusted are them.'It took Omacum finally snapping before they finally backed off. I didn't know the exact details of what went down, but Rickey simply said that the overseer from Omacum put the peo

  • Luna's Revenge: Willow Baker's Marriage Request   Author's Note

Hello everyone. I just want to thank all my readers, especially those who have been following until the end. It's been a long journey. In fact, I believe this book, from start to finish, took almost 7 months, which is a long time. Again, I'm grateful to have all of you. Now, onto what I intend to do next. I have several ideas, but currently I hope to start on Asa Peterson's story. It's going to be about Willow and Maverick's daughter, but with a twist.Instead of being a direct sequel to Luna's Revenge: Willow Baker's Marriage Request, it follows the first life after Willow dies and basically runs almost parallel with it. As such, there might be some spoilers, but it's not required to read both books. They're both standalones.I really hope to get this story off the ground. However, I do have other stories so we'll see how everything works out.Anyway, thank you all again for reaching the end with me. I hope that you all continue following me and have a great day.

Willow Baker POV A Year Later "Willow, are you ready?" Sheila asked as she, Maverick's mother, and Diana stepped into the room. As I stared at the woman in the mirror, I immediately said, "No." My arms shook as I said, "I really can't do this." "What's wrong?" she asked as she immediately rushed over to me. "I don't think I'm ready to get married," I said as I whirled around in my wedding dress. "Willow," Maverick's mother said as she took my hand. "You've already been part of the family for more than three years. We're only making sure you get the wedding you deserve." 'I can't believe I agreed to go along with this crazy idea. Why do we need to have a wedding when we're already husband and wife?' 'I don't have a clue either. You're the one who agreed to it when Maverick asked to marry you, and he even gave you a chance to back out.' I still had mixed feelings when I recalled that incident. It still boggled my mind that he had asked to marry me when we were already married, a

Willow Baker POV"Yes?" I squeaked.I mean, we were married, so I wasn't sure what he was talking about. However, instead of explaining himself, he smiled brightly at me. His smile blinded me and left me in a daze as he slipped the ring onto my finger.Feeling the metal on my finger, I quickly said, "Wait. What's going on?"His smile dropped as he said, "I proposed. Did you not want to marry me?""That's not what I meant," I said as I held both my hands up. "I mean, aren't we already married?""We are, but I want us to be properly married," he said as he stood up. "All we did was sign some papers and file them to formalize our marriage. I want us to have a wedding. It doesn't have to be big. It can just be us and our families or j

I had used to be embarrassed about holding his hand, but now I found myself reaching out to him whenever I can."It's nice out," I said as we continued to walk through the garden. The only sounds were the sounds of the wind and whatever animals were out and about. Basking in the peaceful atmosphere, I still found it hard to believe a year had passed in the blink of an eye."It is," Maverick said with a smile, and he squeezed my hand."So, what is it you wanted to talk about?" I asked."What makes you think I brought you out here to have a talk?" he asked. "I could just want to spend

The putrid smell and poor condition nearly made me vomit as I covered my nose and mouth."Ah, Willow, you finally came. I was wondering when you would come," he said as he smiled at me. His smile fell when his eyes spotted Maverick right behind me. "Oh, you're here. I didn't ask for you.""I asked him to be here," I said as I held up my arm before Maverick could raise his voice.Lesli tilted his head to one side as he asked, "Why? Did you think I would do something to you?" When I didn't bother to give him a response, he raised his bandaged and chained arms up for us to see. Willow Baker POVUnfortunately, the beautiful moment was ruined as a servant approached us. We stepped away from each other as Maverick frowned. They knew to leave us alone unless it was a serious matter."My apologies, your graces," the man said as he bowed. "The prisoner is acting up and demanding Willow's presence."There was only one person he could be referring to, but before I could say anything, Maverick said, "Willow will not be seeing him. I should have you punished for your insolence."The man quivered beneath Maverick's bloodlust. Asa squirmed at the sensation, but she didn't become upset like the last time she had been exposed to it. I wasn't sure whether I should be glad or upset.Reaching out to touch his shoulder, I said, "Maverick."

For once, we were together not because someone had done something to make it happen, and I was quite happy about it.Maverick finally caught Asa, who laughed even harder when he raised her up into the air. She clapped her hands as they returned back to the table where I was sitting. Asa immediately reached out to me.Standing up, I took her from him, and we both settled down to enjoy the tea and snacks that had been left out. Asa tried to reach for the cookie I had, but I kept it out of arm's reach. She was far too young to be eating them.As I nibbled on the cookie while ignoring Asa's attempts to grab it out of

"Now that everyone is here, I believe there is something we need to seriously discuss." His face hardened as he said, "You all need to stop harassing us, especially Willow." Willow Baker POVA Few Weeks LaterAfter what had felt like centuries, I had finally kicked everyone out without being rude. I had thought that would be the end of it. Unfortunately, I had been wrong. I had been so very wrong. It seemed like a fire had been lit, causing the family to work even harder to ensure we were a proper couple. Well, at least the women were. The men had kept out of the whole exchange, and I wasn't sure how to feel about that.On one hand, it was better than having all of them gang up on me and Maverick. On the other hand, they weren't helping us and were choosing to stay on the sidelines. Rickey seemed to take particular glee at my suffering.'At least someone is enjoying themselves.'
