I headed up to Jordan's suite to see him. The guys at the door were not going to let me in and I had it out with them for a while.
"But, I really need to see him." I said to the guys blocking the entrance and there was no response from them even, as if they could not hear me speak.
As I remained there and trying to get my way in, Kai Wren, that jerk's assistant walked towards the suite. Who knew if he was just like his boss too?
"What is going on here?" He asked calmly and one of them cut me off so he could converse with him. He explained the whole thing to me and Kai turned towards me, looking at me in a funny and suspicious manner. While I was wondering why he was doing that, he finally spoke. "Mr. Reign has gotten signed out of here." He said and my jaw dropped.
"What do you mean by that? He is leaving today?" I asked to confirm and he just nodded. "No, that's impossible. We still talked this morning, and...why are you even here if he is leaving?""I came to get something we left." He responded and it was then I realized he was being serious. Without saying anything further, I left the floor and headed for the elevator, which was not usually busy.
I rode down to the ground floor and ran all the way in a demure manner to the parking lot where he could possibly be.
I did not know what his car looked like so it would be quite hard for me.As soon as I stepped out of the entrance of the resort, I scanned the open parking lot with my thousand mile eyes which I doubted his car would be parked because of his nature.
Maybe he was in the underground parking lot? Immediately the thought dropped, I found my way to that place. As I was getting to the entrance, a black Rolls Royce drove out suddenly, startling me.
Despite being startled, I still saw the passengers. Kai was right seated at the front and I barely saw the back seat passenger but it was only proper for it to be Jordan Reign.
As soon as they drove past me, the car slowed down and they parked. I walked down to where they are parked to have it out with Jordan.
He alighted from the car and I moved closer to him. "You said I still had time." I pointed out."Yes, you do."
"And you are leaving already? It would not take a stand of hair off you to plainly let me know you can't do the job, and that you are not capable of handling me.."
"In bed?" He raised his brows and that really got me off guard. So he was a pervert too...perverted jerk.
He cleared his throat and took his hands to the back. "I will only be away for a while. I am very busy, unlike somebody." He was indirectly referring to me and so I decided to feed him with a dose of his medicine."Oh, the jobless, useless person will be the one to tend while you are here." I reminded him but there was still no extra reaction from him.
He let me land well and just stared at me with no emotions in his eyes. "Do you have the response?" He asked out of the blue and oh, that was what brought me there."I do. As long as what you want is not so ridiculous, I am in. What other choice do I have?"
"Buona Scelta!" He exclaimed calmly and turned around, heading for the car. He just meant excellent choice."Meet me at Forever Penthouse tomorrow, 8AM." He instructed, got into the car was driven off.
"But I have to work tomorrow..." The words trailed off as he did not even wait to listen. Was he just being inconsiderate or what?
Somewhere in my heart, I wanted to believe I was making the right choice by following a strange man for a strange training. And somewhere there also, I felt excited for what was to come.I returned into the building and remembered I still had some issues with my senior colleague, Clara. Imagine if I had waited a minute more with her, that was how I probably would never see Jordan Reign again all my life.
As soon as I got back to the office, I had intents of apologizing to her but she was not on seat.
"Ugh" I sighed, feeling tired. As I was about to sit my butt down, Karima sent for me.We had not engaged so much throughout the day but she looked quite stressed out on seeing her.
"How well are you holding out?" She asked and I couldn't find words to reply, I decided to ask about her instead."I guess you have not had lunch, Karima, you seemed busy so I was not going to call you along from lunch.."
"Yeah, there is a lot for me to work on. I came to the office earlier but you were not in the seat." She pointed out."Yeah, I had to....tend to one of the guests."
"Jordan Reign?" She raised her brows. I could not tell whether she was guessing or whether she knew though.
"Yes, ma'am." I responded. "No issues. I don't know if you are aware of this but your day off is tomorrow. Thursdays." She announced and my brain went into processing for a while. That was like out of the blue...but I remembered Rowland telling me about his day off days ago so I guessed it was just proper.
But I was not so sure that the meeting with Jordan Reign the next day and the sudden announcement of the day off was a coincidence.I smiled gently. "Alright, ma'am. Thank you very much."
"Get prepared, we will be leaving work anytime soon."I could not get any proper sleep throughout the night, I just kept waking up at irregular intervals due to the excitement, anxiety and anticipation that came with the planned meeting with Jordan Reign, on a matter that greatly concerned my life.It was barely dawn when I started to prepare for the meeting. I had myself all dressed up casually and then had a little breakfast, then I headed down to the ground floor. I did not have a car so I had to board a cab from some of the allowances I had gotten."Please take me to Forever Penthouse." I said to the driver as soon as I got in and then he drove me down there in about forty five good minutes. As soon as I alighted from the car, a short sigh was let out as I stared at the skyscraper. What a tall building! And to think that I would still head up to the very last floor...or some floors before that.I walked into the building and headed to the receptionists' desk where I was attended to. They seemed to know about my coming and also handed
I guess there was a lot I did not even know about myself. I had missed my path a very long time ago, the moment I decided to run from my Father's pack just so I could get married to Adrien. And now was the time for them all to start unveiling. I had wasted a lot of time, obviously and just to redeem the wasted years, I would have to work very harder and I was not even sure I was ready for all that. But here was someone who was trying to bring out the very me from me, I did not know who he was, where he was from truly and why he was doing this for me but somewhere within me, I wanted to entrust him with myself."A mission? Hold on mister, what are you even saying? Huh? My revenge plan, returning to my family, how did you know?!" I challenged him straight up but he did not seem interested in saying anything further concerning that."I won't ask you to trust my lead. If you don't want to continue, you can always retreat and go back to your comfort zone then wallow in tears and shameful t
I had never been so stunned. I pulled away immediately but the truth was, that short session of closeness, I enjoyed it but I was not supposed to. "What do you think you are doing?" I was deeply frowned, restraining myself from hitting him."Your lips just looked...""Stop! Just...stop it!" I cut him off. His personality had suddenly changed there and I was even confused on whether this was the same person that said harsh words to me earlier. What had gotten into him?In a split second, he was back to the person I knew. The cold, straight person. "I thought you wanted to leave earlier? Why did you follow the flies?" He inquired and still frowning, I placed my hands on my waist, standing akimbo."I never knew they were bringing me to you. Why would I suddenly want to return to you after all the bashing?""I bashed you?" He raised a brow dramatically and I glared at him. "Then what was that earlier?" "It is the truth, young lady, is it not?" He sent me mute for a while there, then I
The hill I refused to climb earlier? I later climbed it up, but Jordan took me on a different route, one that was even more difficult. "Why are you so evil?" I confronted him, feeling pissed and pained that he really was going to put me through all this stress."You will never get to handle your real self if you are not well broken. Your will first, and that is what we are doing now. Refuse to do it now but I promise you, you will eventually come back for it and by then, you will be going up and back seven good times."I took that as a threat and decided to get on with it once and for all. Climbing took hours and I was almost close to thinking that we were on Mount Everest. Eventually, I got so worn out that I could not keep going any longer. I had the will to but my body was declining.Out of his mercies like he had said, Jordan had me rest for a few minutes and got me back on my feet again. We walked up all the way and nobody announced it to me when we got to the very top.I was al
I could no longer stop the tears from coming out. They streamed down my face as I sat on the floor, in that bush just wailing as I stared at Jordan from a distance. "You cruel asshole." I swore amidst tears and then he started walking closer."You should have stayed there!" He asserted, insisting and I got quite pissed. "Why would I stay there? For what reason? After you left me there to probably...get eaten by beast?" I ran my mouth angrily."What are you even saying? Does it make sense to you that I will leave you up there and do what? Go somewhere far away?" He looked quite amazed at my actions. "Either far or not, it does not change the fact that you left me there literally, to survive all by myself.""Get up." He commanded and my stubbornness set in. Why did he want me to stand up? After the ordeal I just went through? I was not even sure I could stand properly on my two feet at this period in time."Get up, Mira!" He commanded and indeed, he seemed so serious. Slowly, I manag
My confusion just grew by the day. What was Eldrid forest? Whose forest was it? Why was Jordan so surprised like that too? What was with the expression of fear?"I will handle it, take her home." Jordan ordered in another split second and it seemed as if he was getting prepared for a battle, judging from his tone. Kai bowed his head as Jordan stepped out, with me wondering where he was headed to.Kai led me to the basement parking lot and he drove me out in an expensive looking car. As he drove with a straight face, I felt pushed to just ask him questions. "Excuse me." I started with, drawing his attention from the wheel, not totally though."Yes?" "What is...this Eldrid forest and what does it mean to Mr. Jordan?" I asked innocently, feeling so clueless. It looked like he was hesitant to reply to me but he eventually did, giving me a solid no. "I am sorry but I can't tell you anything about that, ma'am." He replied and my jaw dropped, leaving an "oh.."None of us said a word to e
I stayed hung up on the book till midnight, discovering crazy new things about my wolf. The impact the last person who had it, left in the world and so many other things. The energies, abilities and powers were numerous but there was a limitation to all of them.If they would be used for evil, it would backfire and there was certain I could use it too, if I was not charged in my spirit. If I exerted myself too much also, it could cause breakdowns in different forms. The most important thing was the host of this rare and ancient wolf was well trained. I dropped the book and rubbed my eyes gently, they had done a very good work that night. I headed to the kitchen to get a glass of water, going out to see Karima was no longer visible that night. As I drank water from the cup, I heard some fussing from outside. The complex was not usually noisy and I wondered what was going on, especially given that it was late in the night. I moved to the window to peep and see who and what was causing
I did not go to my apartment but I headed to Karima's, almost at the verge of tears. The moment she opened the door, I burst into tears and ran into her arms. She welcomed me warmly, like I would have expected and just patted my back."It's all my fault that he was going to kill himself, Karima." I cried on her shoulders but she started stroking my hair. "It is not your fault, Mira. Calm down." She replied. After a few minutes, I stopped crying and finally followed her into the living room while she held my hand. "Sit here, I will get you a blanket, a cup of coffee and then we will talk." She said and then left for her room. I wiped my face clean and just stayed there, waiting for her. Then, I heard that strange but familiar sound. That sound from the music box in my dream, and from the forest Jordan had taken me to. I felt troubled in my heart as I looked around for the source, then I saw a phone on the table which was obviously Karima's.She was getting a call and that sound was
