I had never been so stunned. I pulled away immediately but the truth was, that short session of closeness, I enjoyed it but I was not supposed to.
"What do you think you are doing?" I was deeply frowned, restraining myself from hitting him.
"Your lips just looked..."
"Stop! Just...stop it!" I cut him off. His personality had suddenly changed there and I was even confused on whether this was the same person that said harsh words to me earlier.
What had gotten into him?
In a split second, he was back to the person I knew. The cold, straight person. "I thought you wanted to leave earlier? Why did you follow the flies?" He inquired and still frowning, I placed my hands on my waist, standing akimbo."I never knew they were bringing me to you. Why would I suddenly want to return to you after all the bashing?"
"I bashed you?" He raised a brow dramatically and I glared at him. "Then what was that earlier?"
"It is the truth, young lady, is it not?" He sent me mute for a while there, then I countered him."Is this what we came here for? I let go of my day off for this?"
"You turned things around the moment you turned around to leave." He said to me.
"But you would not tell me where we were heading to! For hours there we kept climbing hills and mountains and for a second, I wondered if we were in a hiking competition." I defended myself sternly.
"Well, there is no way around it. That was just the first phase of the training. Wolves naturally and good hill climbers, I guess it's just your nature." He explained.
"Can we not do that first? I believe knowledge is what I need right now." I softened my eyes. The training was obviously hard and I had not gone halfway into it yet.
"I am not sure you want it."
"I do!" I asserted firmly.
"Mira Silver, are you sure about that?" He asked and there was a little constraint in my heart. He would not be asking me if I was sure if that information I was about to receive was not a huge one.
"I...am...sure." I stuttered.
Standing there right in the cave, Jordan Reign opened his mouth and started revealing mysteries about myself to me, in a measure."You are an ancient and rare breed from your pack, that only emerges once every hundred years." He started with that and I just stood there, staring at him.
"Can you stop playing games with me?" I frowned."I knew you were not prepared for this. Forget about it then." He concluded and started making his way out of the cave while I followed him closely, feeling anxiety and impatience at the same time.
"Wait, hold on, Mr...Jordan, I...I don't get what you are saying. And, I am totally prepared, trust me. Just..Jordan please." I begged him, stammering as I followed him.
"Leave it, lady. You could really lose it, now is not the time." He replied to me, not even sparing me a glance as the natural brightness shone on his skin when we stepped out of the dark cave.
"Then when is the time?!" I yelled, getting close to losing it, really. "I have waited over 25 years of my life and I am not old enough or mature enough to know whatever it is that is going on with me? It is confusing enough that I suddenly have a thousand miles eyes and super sharp ears, and that I have never had enough put me through this tough phase of my life but now i have someone and, what now?" I ranted angrily, swearing innerly not to cry.
I guess my reaction had him held down. He turned around and faced me for the first time in a while. "It is what I said. You are not just any kind of breed, and I guess you got recently heartbroken, or you were in danger, before this wolf only gets awoken when its host is experiencing such."
I was taken aback, squinting my eyes as I looked at him, I wanted to doubt him but what if he stopped talking? Could it have been possible that he made that up?
I was more than confused. So, I was not a regular wolf, and...it was definitely awoken because of what happened with Adrien and his family? And that wolf was...Kierra?"But, why was I born an Omega?" I furrowed my brows because they were not so adding up.
He stared right into my eyes emotionlessly. "When a powerful one is discovered right at birth, its life will be earnestly sought." That was his response.
A very witty and clever one.I meditated on his words and those things he said to me started to make sense. Maybe it was true but I found it so hard to believe that I, like, Mira Silver had this kind of powerful potential in her, and she had been living an ordinary life all these while.
"So what about my abilities, energies and power?" I asked out of the blue, after a very long silence. We were heading to somewhere I did not even know but at that point, my heart was trusting him even subconsciously.
"You know those better, young lady. Now, your chance to ask me questions is over, no more questions please. Find the rest out yourself." He replied coldly and I could tell that he sounded like that on purpose.
"Why won't you tell me??" I whined maturely.
"Nothing is free. Sono io che pagherò." He was speaking Italian again, made me think I could trace his background down to Italy. Maybe he was one of those Italian supernatural creatures.
Translating what he had said in my mind, I got stuck and confused.
'I am the one who will pay'. I stared at him from behind as he walked stoicly, what did he mean by that? The hill I refused to climb earlier? I later climbed it up, but Jordan took me on a different route, one that was even more difficult. "Why are you so evil?" I confronted him, feeling pissed and pained that he really was going to put me through all this stress."You will never get to handle your real self if you are not well broken. Your will first, and that is what we are doing now. Refuse to do it now but I promise you, you will eventually come back for it and by then, you will be going up and back seven good times."I took that as a threat and decided to get on with it once and for all. Climbing took hours and I was almost close to thinking that we were on Mount Everest. Eventually, I got so worn out that I could not keep going any longer. I had the will to but my body was declining.Out of his mercies like he had said, Jordan had me rest for a few minutes and got me back on my feet again. We walked up all the way and nobody announced it to me when we got to the very top.I was al
I could no longer stop the tears from coming out. They streamed down my face as I sat on the floor, in that bush just wailing as I stared at Jordan from a distance. "You cruel asshole." I swore amidst tears and then he started walking closer."You should have stayed there!" He asserted, insisting and I got quite pissed. "Why would I stay there? For what reason? After you left me there to probably...get eaten by beast?" I ran my mouth angrily."What are you even saying? Does it make sense to you that I will leave you up there and do what? Go somewhere far away?" He looked quite amazed at my actions. "Either far or not, it does not change the fact that you left me there literally, to survive all by myself.""Get up." He commanded and my stubbornness set in. Why did he want me to stand up? After the ordeal I just went through? I was not even sure I could stand properly on my two feet at this period in time."Get up, Mira!" He commanded and indeed, he seemed so serious. Slowly, I manag
My confusion just grew by the day. What was Eldrid forest? Whose forest was it? Why was Jordan so surprised like that too? What was with the expression of fear?"I will handle it, take her home." Jordan ordered in another split second and it seemed as if he was getting prepared for a battle, judging from his tone. Kai bowed his head as Jordan stepped out, with me wondering where he was headed to.Kai led me to the basement parking lot and he drove me out in an expensive looking car. As he drove with a straight face, I felt pushed to just ask him questions. "Excuse me." I started with, drawing his attention from the wheel, not totally though."Yes?" "What is...this Eldrid forest and what does it mean to Mr. Jordan?" I asked innocently, feeling so clueless. It looked like he was hesitant to reply to me but he eventually did, giving me a solid no. "I am sorry but I can't tell you anything about that, ma'am." He replied and my jaw dropped, leaving an "oh.."None of us said a word to e
I stayed hung up on the book till midnight, discovering crazy new things about my wolf. The impact the last person who had it, left in the world and so many other things. The energies, abilities and powers were numerous but there was a limitation to all of them.If they would be used for evil, it would backfire and there was certain I could use it too, if I was not charged in my spirit. If I exerted myself too much also, it could cause breakdowns in different forms. The most important thing was the host of this rare and ancient wolf was well trained. I dropped the book and rubbed my eyes gently, they had done a very good work that night. I headed to the kitchen to get a glass of water, going out to see Karima was no longer visible that night. As I drank water from the cup, I heard some fussing from outside. The complex was not usually noisy and I wondered what was going on, especially given that it was late in the night. I moved to the window to peep and see who and what was causing
I did not go to my apartment but I headed to Karima's, almost at the verge of tears. The moment she opened the door, I burst into tears and ran into her arms. She welcomed me warmly, like I would have expected and just patted my back."It's all my fault that he was going to kill himself, Karima." I cried on her shoulders but she started stroking my hair. "It is not your fault, Mira. Calm down." She replied. After a few minutes, I stopped crying and finally followed her into the living room while she held my hand. "Sit here, I will get you a blanket, a cup of coffee and then we will talk." She said and then left for her room. I wiped my face clean and just stayed there, waiting for her. Then, I heard that strange but familiar sound. That sound from the music box in my dream, and from the forest Jordan had taken me to. I felt troubled in my heart as I looked around for the source, then I saw a phone on the table which was obviously Karima's.She was getting a call and that sound was
He knew me, not me, but the one in me. How? How did he get to know? Who was he, even? Was I being held hostage? No, that was not happening. The simple plan was to get to work and do my normal thing, what was this?!"And...who may you be?" I raised my brows, fear was gripping me eventually but I tried to look unshaken on the outside. He frowned deeply, and right before me his eyes changed back to the normal 'brown' eyes I had seen earlier. The change was quite scary. He let out a sigh and faced the wheel, "What a shame. You don't even recognize me." "Can you just answer the question?" I raised my voice a bit, getting impatient as my fear continually increased. He turned around to coo me. "Hey...easy. It is not like I am going to eat you up or something, you just have something I need.""And...what is that?" I pressed further and then he smiled broadly, rather than finding it attractive, I found it terrifying and annoying. "Not so soon. It's one step at a time, Kierra." "Don't call
But how was that even possible? The cologne I had perceived when I entered my apartment was that of Jordan and this guy's own did not smell anything like it. To some extent, I was quite sure that Jordan had brought that book there. And now, it seemed like he knew who Jordan was and judging from his impulsive reaction, he was not on good terms with him."You know who Jordan is?""I said not to mention his name!" He snapped again not even wanting to hear the word at all."Okay, fine. But what do you know about him? And how did this book come about? How much do you know about me? And what do you want from me?""A question at a time, young lady." He cooed and I frowned."You will not call me that.""Whatever. Every answer you get comes at a price."The moment he said that, I remembered Jordan saying the same thing to me, in Italian. What really was with this give and take principle?"Okay, fine! What do you want?" I did not even hide my desertions to know anything and I had this feeling t
"How dare you?!" Jordan roared, He had appeared in the room all of a sudden. "And how dare you come into my territory?" This guy also replied, his face darkening the moment he saw him. I could really perceive some sort of strife from Jordan's brother."You have something of my own, Judah." Jordan responded, in a calm manner. Oh, so this green eyed dude was Judah by name? "It's not here so get the hell out!!!" Judah yelled at him.I started to feel some headaches and I just had to chip in. "Guys! You are shouting, I am here please." There was some quietness for a while, the Judah started again. His eyes were gradually turning green and from the little time I had spent with him, I could tell that that happened whenever he was about to probably cast spells or maybe he was angry.I knew something good would not come out of them being together within the same room but I could not think properly to do something before it gets out of hand."You came into my own space and stole my posses
