Grey stepped away from the door. To him, it was no use. Maya had chosen a total stranger over him. He walked away from the living room, and mounted the stairs, disappearing into the hallway.
Zing, Gwen, and Reina could hardly believe what was going on. Vivian's joy knew no bounds as she realized that she didn't have to do anything more to get Maya out of the pack house. Her likeness for the stranger had done that. The elders had conversations amongst themselves, saying how they knew Maya was a bad omen and she would not last in the pack house. To them, it was good riddance. The omegas were also excited about Maya's leave. Gwen walked briskly away from the dining table, and when she got to the center of the living room, she practically ran towards the door, and as she opened it, Maya and green eyes were nowhere to be found."Where's the Luna?" She asked Jayden and Reuben. They were looking over at the gate, lost in their confusion about Maya leaving the pacUnfortunately for Grey, the very next morning, reality hit him when he walked into his room. The bed was neatly dressed, and there was no one in it. He walked over to the wardrobe, and saw that Maya's clothes were still intact. A ray of hope was about to surge through him when he remembered her words from yesterday. "I came with nothing, and I will leave with nothing," the words rang in his head, and it hit him in full force that Maya had left him yesterday evening. He looked around his room, and it was filled with her presence. Every corner of the room reminded him of her. Her smiling face, her pouting lips whenever she was throwing a tantrum, and the arguments they usually had. The window was her favorite spot in the room, and it reminded him of her.He could picture her on the bed, and that alone was making him go crazy. He knew he would break down and lose his mind if he stayed in the room for any longer. He walked out of the room, and down the hallway
Vivian stared at Grey in shock. "Did I not tell you not to step your feet into this pack house again?" He asked her.She swallowed. "You're drunk, Grey. You need to get this alcohol out of yourself," she replied as he picked up his half empty glass."I'm not drunk," he responded as he emptied the glass into his mouth."That's what a drunk person would say," she said, and snatched the glass from her hand."Give me my glass," he requested, his tone low, and a sudden sleep weighing over him. His eyelids were closing, but he was struggling to keep them open.Vivian held his hand again, and he flung her hand away from his. "Don't touch me," he slurred.Just then, Zing walked into the room, and he saw Grey laying vulnerably on the floor with bottles of whiskey around him. "For fuck sake, what have you done to yourself, Grey?" He asked in worry as he rushed over to him."Thank goodness you're here, Zing. I met him this way, and
Vivian stirred up in her sleep, and as she opened her eyes and saw Grey staring down at her. She jumped up in a startled manner, and then, she slowly looked down at her body. "Oh my goodness!" She exclaimed in shock and quickly wrapped the covers over her body. "What happened?" She asked in perplexity.Grey stood up, and quickly donned on his trousers. He could not remember anything as of last night, but, he was very sure that he had nothing to do with Vivian. He could not feel anything. "Nothing happened. Get off my bed," he replied as he zipped his trousers.Vivian gasped as she quickly got off the bed and put on her clothes. She turned to Grey after she was done. "I need an answer, Grey. I only saw you in a devastated state, and I brought you into the room," she said to him.He turned angry eyes at her. "Shouldn't I be asking you that?" He asked her. "I was the drunk one, not you. You should know what happened last night," he fired at her.She raised a brow. "So, you can't recall an
Grey was standing by the window of his study room, a worried look etched on his face as he thought of Maya. His conscience judged him that he had cheated on her. Hell, he thought as he gulped down a large amount of the whiskey in the glass that he was holding. Was it really cheating? He wondered. She had willingly left him for another man. A total stranger for that matter. But, that did not mean that he had to do what he did. If truly he did have an intimacy with Vivian, he was definitely not in his right mind. But, he believed that drunk or no drunk, Vivian was someone he would never have an intimacy with. He had never thought of her in that way, and would never think of her in that way.He exhaled deeply as he drank the remaining content of the glass. His heart clenched and his blood ran hotter than he had felt it in the evening. Was something wrong with Maya? He wondered.Just then, a knock came on the door, and then the door opened. Grey glanced behind
Lincoln raised a brow, pretending not to be aware of what Grey was talking about. "Your priceless possession?" He asked, staring at Grey as he continued. "I do not quite understand you clearly," he said.Grey stared hard at him. "You have my wife held here as a prisoner, and i want you to release her to me," he replied, getting impatient."So, the woman who wandered into my territory is your wife?" Lincoln asked with a hint of teasing in his voice."Do not play dumb with me, Lincoln. I do not have the time for games," Grey replied in a warning tone."What would the wife of alpha Grey Stone be doing in another territory with another man at nightfall?" He asked Grey with leering eyes, and Grey clenched his jaw as he tried not to lose his temper. Lincoln continued. "I guess you're a cuckold husband. Your wife also is unable to bear your unbearable attitude and has left you for another man," he said disdainfully in other to spite Grey.Grey w
"If you do not surrender, I'll slit her throat," Lincoln threatened. Grey could feel her rush of adrenaline pumping through his veins and his blood ran hot. "I'm not joking, Grey," Lincoln added in a warning tone as he pressed the dagger closer to Maya's neck and she gulped in fear. Green eyes was being held by one of the sentinels."Let her go," Grey said to him, refusing to cower before Lincoln."Until you surrender," Lincoln replied, raising his voice. Grey took a step in his direction, and Lincoln stopped him from coming any further. "I'm not joking, Grey," Lincoln reiterated as he pressed the dagger on Maya's skin and she swallowed as she felt the cold steel on her neck."Neither am I," Grey replied him, and with that, Zing was all of a sudden a few distance from him and he was holding a child with a dagger pressed to his neck.Lincoln looked in the direction of Grey's eyes and he saw Zing with his son, and horror immediately filled his face.
Maya swallowed. "I'm sorry that I caused the death of one of the warriors," she apologized, looking at him."Well then, good for you," he replied, and turned away, walking towards the bathroom."Grey, is that all you have to say?" She asked him, and that was when he lost his temper. All the anger he bottled up inside of him exploded. He turned to her. "What do you want me to say?" He asked her as he flared up. "Tonight, I received and swallowed an insult from a man who's not even worthy to stand before me, all because of you. You chose a total stranger over me, and you frolicked territories with him," he said, anger seeping out of him like an invisible smoke. He continued. "Then, you stand before me, and tell me you're sorry for the death of one of my warriors? Spare me the apology," he added furiously.Maya's eyes shimmered with tears as she stared at him. "I did not choose him over you. I would never choose anyone over you," she replied, tears c
Grey saw Vivian, and his heart skipped a beat, but yet he maintained a stoic look. She was reminder of his cheating that he was yet to tell Maya about. Vivian walked over to the dining table. "You're back," she said cynically to Maya as she sat down. Maya stared at her. She was quite surprised to see her in the pack house. Vivian cylontinued. "I thought that you ran away with your new lover," she added, and Maya stared at her.Grey, Zing, and Gwen looked at Vivian like she has finally lost her mind."Helping someone does not mean you're in love with them, Vivian. Get such foolish ideas out of your head," Maya replied, standing up for herself. She continued as she picked up a skillet sausage. "And I thought Grey has forbidden you from stepping into this pack house," Maya added.Vivian chuckled sarcastically. "Oh, Maya. You really have no idea what is going on. Grey can never stay angry at me for long. Besides, you should know that..." She began to speak, an
Maya was rushed over to the salutary who attended to her while the rest of the pack house were in a frenzy. ** Five days later ***Grey held Maya's hand, his eyes not leaving her face as he hoped and prayed that she would open her eyes soon. Gwen was sitting at the opposite side of the bed, with her hands clasped in prayers. She has already told Grey all about Vivian. She had been the instigator of the lie that spread out in the heavens, just to get rid of Maya. It's been five days since Maya was in coma and she feared for her life. Grey had never left Maya's side since she was brought into the salutary's cabin. He was disoriented and too worried about her to worry about himself. He prayed fervently, every now and then for her to open her eyes. He prayed to whoever he hoped would answer. The Salutary had no idea if Maya would ever wake up, but yet, Grey did not lose hope. His heart, body and soul was wrenched in pain and the pain of losing Maya and the baby, hurt him the more. All of
"I didn't tell you who I am. How did you know?" Grey asked the witch."Who doesn't know the legendary Dark emperor who has now reincarnated into an alpha? I know you too well and I know what brought you here," she said. She had white streaks in her raven hair.Grey stared at her and waited for her to continue. "You're here concerning the apocalypse and the possible solution to it," she said and Grey nodded. "The ancestors have told me of your coming already," she added."You have been told all your life that light and darkness do not go hand in hand. It is an unbalanced force of nature, but you've been told lies all along," she said and they all stared at her in amazement except from Grey who was shocked."Light and darkness go together, alpha. That's why the mystical lake was placed in the demon world to prove that even the purest streak of light can be found in darkness. The child said to be born to initiate the apocalypse, is the wrong prophecy. The child is being born to unite the
"All these, are the reasons why I was hostile to Maya. I could not tell her about it and that was why I was being subtle in our separation until maybe I get a solution to it all," Grey said."Have you found anything?" Zing asked.Grey shook his head. "I went to meet the heavenly emperor. Someone stole the ancient book about the mystical lake in the demon world. The book holds invisible writings on how to merge the three worlds together using the lake as a connection. What this person is not aware of is that, this could destroy everything," he explained further."Who is this person?" Zing asked."I do not know. The heavenly emperor is pretending not to know. He only told me that the Heavenly mirror and the staff of light are tools in causing this destruction and these two properties of heaven are missing," Grey said.Zing narrowed his eyes. "They're with Maya," he replied."Not anymore. They were taken away from her," Grey said.
As soon as she was gone and out of his sight. Grey mounted the stairs. He got into the study room and in a fierce anger, he threw away every thing laying idly on the table over to the floor. He groaned in pain and hurt as he flung the desk in disarray. With that done, he crumbled to the floor, finding it hard to breathe as short gasped of painful tears gathered in his eyes and threatened to surface.•"Maya, you don't have to go. This can be settled," Gwen said to Maya in a pleading voice, outside the pack gate.Maya shook her head. "This cannot be settled, Gwen. I believe in Grey a lot and I do love him, but, this is the last straw that I can take. I do not know what has gotten into him, but, I cannot handle it any longer," she replied in a tear filled voice."Maya," Gwen began to say pitifully so she could stay, but Maya stood her ground, declining to stay back in the pack house.Just then, Zing showed up. "What'
Vivian is taken to the salutary by Grey while Maya still stood speechless for what has just happened. She could hardly believe her eyes. Can a push cause a miscarriage? She pondered. But, if she had not done that, she would have been the one on the ground with blood flowing down her legs.Grey got to the salutary's cabin and instructed the salutary to take attend to Vivian urgently. "Grey," Vivian called him through gasps as he turned to leave. He turned to her. "The salutary will attend to you. I'll be back," he said and with that, he walked out of the cabin and headed back to the pack house.Gwen walked down the stairs and saw Maya frozen in a spot. She was puzzled. "Maya?" She called her attention and Maya turned to look at her with an horrified look on her face.Gwen was shocked by this until she noticed the small stain of blood on the floor. She became confused as she approached her friend. "What happened?" She asked her.M
"Who is this person?" Grey asked him.Heavenly emperor stared at him. "It's for you to find out," he replied."Do not give me that, emperor. You're the heavenly emperor, right? You should know about this person that's about to cause a massive destruction in our worlds," Grey said, getting angry all over again. The heavenly emperor stared at him. "The emperor is all seeing, Verne. But, some things are hidden and without the heavenly mirror, it cannot be seen," he replied.Grey stared at him and exhaled. "How do we stop this?" He asked."Firstly, we cannot pair with each other because you're a demon emperor," the heavenly emperor replied."Enough of that nonsense, emperor. If we do not pair together to save our world, we'll all perish, irrespective of who's a demon or a god," Grey said, making a point and the heavenly emperor stared at him."Fine. Just for the sake of the worlds, I'm willing to put aside our differences an
"The both of you can go to hell for all I care," Vivian scoffed and without waiting to eat breakfast on the dining table, she picked up her plate and walked away in anger. She was walking towards the stairs when Grey was coming down the stairs. He wanted to ignore her, but he saw Maya walking down the stairs from the corner of his eyes."Where are you going with your breakfast?" He asked her."Is it not Zing and Gwen? They were speaking rude to me and warning me to stay away from you. That's why I'm heading to my room to eat my breakfast," she replied with a pitiful look on her face."What impertinence," Grey ranted as he walked away from Vivian and headed over to Zing.Maya was surprised by his sudden demeanor over Zing and she walked down the stairs, heading over to the dining table."Zing, what right do you have to talk to the mother of my child in such a manner?" Grey demanded in anger.Zing rose up as he scoffed. "A
It bothered him a lot. He turned to Athon. "Let him be buried immediately," Grey said and Athon nodded. "Do you perhaps know the reason on his death?" He inquired."I think I do, my Lord," Athon said as he walked over to the shelf. "One of the books on the shelf is missing, my Lord. It is the only book concerning the mysterious ancient lake," he replied.Grey was puzzled. "What has a book got to do with the death of the Mountain demon?" He asked him.Athon explained further. "The book withholds the secrets of the lake, my Lord. It is an ancestral powerful book that was discovered by the first demons," he said.Grey was still not getting what he was saying.Athon took in deep breaths. "Alpha, this book is said to consist of secret and invisible writings that no man can read. These writings when exposed, leads whoever is in control or possession of the book to the merging of all three worlds. The heavens, the earth and the demon world. I be
"I heard about your debts, Alfred," Grey began as he leaned back in his seat. "But, I must inform you before helping you out on this," he continued and Alfred was keened to what he was saying. "Your wife is responsible for your huge debts," he dropped the bombshell.Alfred was shocked. "What?" He exclaimed softly, puzzled and confused.Grey nodded. "I am not aware of how she does it, Alfred. But, to my best of knowledge, she collects money in your name because of her mother and I do not know what she uses them for. You should speak to her," he said."I'm quite shocked by this," Alfred said and his expression said it all. "So, Lisa has been doing this without my knowledge?" He asked himself, still stunned."Do not quarrel with the naive woman, Alfred. She has been doing all That because of her mother. But, that's by the way," Grey said as he tapped his index finger on the desk. "Get those payments from your wife, settle those people she g
