Leftover Food

I had the wrong focus on the dining table. There are ten chairs with a long table. A crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling. Standing still at the door, I watched Mabel arrange the dinner dishes on the table.

"Are you surprised by this meeting?" suddenly, Mabel taught me to speak. It seemed he was curious about my opinion about meeting Mattia's parents.

"This is a bit different from what I imagined!" I answered calmly, but my voice was a little low. I feared offending Mattia's extended family; after all, they weren't Werewolves with sharp hearing. I'm just being careful.

"Different from your previous past, what do you mean? You must have been close to your ex-husband's family before!" Mabel put down the bottle of a well-known brand of wine. Did she not think at all before saying something like that to me?
