Amalthea’s POV

I couldn't sleep.

I could overhear the nurses gossiping about the state of my mind and body. The news of my weakness traveled faster than I would have liked it to, but then again, it literally happened in the middle of the training ground right in front of everyone who didn't know me. But somehow they knew what role I was playing staying in the Alpha’s house. How did my life come to this though?

Just a few nights back and I could perfectly picture Fredrick perks in the shade of moonlight that spilled through his oval window. Oh, that dream house and how he didn't care for the silver he had around the room. He said it looked dashing on me, so he had it around to remind him of how rare of a gem I was. I knew Fredrick loved me, even in the moment of the greatest misfortune of my life, which was ironically caused by his own flesh and blood. I gripped the shit beneath my feet trying to digest the leftover rage that rushed through me recalling now she spat in my face all t

Amalthea’s POV I was given a chance to freshen up with the help of a different nurse from the lady I remembered from last night. I was also given a new pair of clothes to wear. After putting on the pink blouse and long flowing skirt which made me look like I read people’s palms for a living. It was only then I realized that there was a slim bandage tied around my head. My hair had been bound in a comfortable bonnet that I hadn't thought to check. The pain was still very much there as I tried to touch the swollen spot behind my head. It brought the ache in my head back alive. I hissed, pressing against the sink as I tried to thumb down the pain. I left the bathroom when the ache felt a bit much manageable. Thankfully, I didn't have to ask, a pain killer in the pill cup was placed on the side table next to the hospital bed and it was already laid back. I would feel guilty lying back on it and rumpling it, so I sat on the visitor chair instead. I took the drugs, knowing very well I ha

Nicholson's POV Getting back to my original position, I put on my seat belt and started the car before I noticed she had been staring at me blankly the whole time. When we got into some seconds of eye contact, she shifted her focus and continued to keep her focus on the windscreen ahead of us. She refused to make eye contact with me again, only choosing to look forward until I decided I was going to ask her what exactly the problem was, of which she decided to finally speak up on before I brought up the issue. “I wasn't aware we were going on a tour.” She said, a tight lipped smile later and she was back to her blank expression again. “Would you like to do something else instead?” I decided to be considerate, bending forward to catch a bit more than just a stoic Sideview I was getting from the point I sat down. She shook her head and marshed her lips together before blowing out air. “Nope.” She popped the ‘P’ in the nope with all of lips. She turned and gave me the silent nudging

Amalthea’s POV The rest of the tour was actually beautiful. Ravenclaw is such a beautiful pack. There were clearly people who cared a lot about their origin. The walls were old but crafted with the unique craft of a flying Raven on significant buildings. The day came to an end with a state of tranquility surrounding me as I sat at the edge of a fountain under the open roof in the Alpha’s house. Calling it a house didn't do enough justice to the building. It was a fusion of two mansions joined in perfect harmony by the beautiful garden that surrounded me. I had tried to sleep like everyone else but no position felt comfortable, so I left for somewhere more accommodating. Being on the ground floor, I came to realize there weren't many rooms on the ground floor. Asides mine, and that of the head of omegas in the Alpha’s house, that was about it. I looked around before streaking my finger acrossing the surface of the shallow water body, causing a ripple effect. I did it as many times a

Amalthea’s POV A firm knock at the door shut me out of the bed. With no alarm and no clocks in the room, it was hard to tell what the time was, but something told me I wasn't supposed to be where I was. I rushed to the door. It has been 6 days since I blacked out and woke up in the hospital. I have barely seen Nicholson since then, and ever since, I found my mind wandering back to him and our little tour. I assumed he was busy. I jumped back, startled at who turned up at the door. “Mikayla…”“Gamma.” She said with a tight lipped smile that didn't reach her eyes. “Oh, my apologies.” I bowed my head briefly in apology before raising my eyes back to her. “Gamma Mikayla. To what do I Owe this pleasure?” I asked, knowing I was on a break from training till I was completely healed. “I know you are new here, and you are still trying to know how the rope works around here, so I came to offer any sort of assistance or support that you may need.” She said, edging very close into the room.

Amalthea's POV Whoosh! A bucket of ice cold water was poured on my already freezing body, making my lungs seize as I gasped sharply, and jerked upright, coughing and trembling.“Get up!” The guard barked, as he stepped into my cell. “It's judgement day.”A bitter smile spread across my lips.“Psycho,” the guard muttered and dragged me to my feet, my bones screaming in protest.I bit back a groan, and he pushed me out of the cell.“Move!” He ordered, and I began walking like my limbs don’t really belong to me and each step is a negotiation rather than an order.I blinked a few times trying to adjust to the brightness of the sun, as we got outside. I hadn't felt the warmth of the sun in weeks, and I must say it felt heavenly.A car pulled up in front of us seconds later. I got in, and was driven straight to the general Pack hall.I stumbled as the guard kept shoving me forward through the hall. The Pack members whispered amongst themselves, and I could tell they have no idea what's go

Present DayAmalthea's POV"We're gathered here today to bear witness to the trial of Amalthea Crawford,” Elder Charles's voice rang through the general Pack hall, pulling me out of my thoughts. “Luna..," He paused and glared at me with open contempt. "...ex Luna of Blackfangs Pack, on the grounds of Adultery," he continued and looked over at the Pack members who were all seated in the general Pack hall. Slowly, murmurs began to ripple through the crowd.“Order in the court,” Allen commanded and the murmurs gradually died down."How do you plead, Amalthea ?" Elder Charles asked, in a cold and unforgiving voice."Not guilty," I replied in a steady voiceElder Charles scoffed. "Alright then. We'll start by hearing the witnesses' testimonies, and all supporting documents,” he announced. “After that, the Pack's council would decide your verdict,” he looked over at me, and I could tell all this was just for formality's sake and my fate had already been sealed. “May the first witness ple

Nicholson's POV“You bought me a what?!” I roared, my eyes locked on my Beta Callum who was standing across from me. How could he think– how could he dare?“A breeder,” he repeated calmly as if that was supposed to soothe me.“I think you're tired of living, Callum,” I glared at him.“Alpha, just hear me out,” Callum said quickly, holding up his hands. “I was just thinking about you.”“Thinking about me? How does getting me a breeder fit into that equation?!” I spat.Callum sighed, rubbing the back of his head. “I know this isn't what you want–”“You're damn right it's not what I want!” I snapped, pushing away from my desk, and pacing around the room.“You've got less than two years before the curse activates,” he said softly. “Less than two years to–”“I know!” I cut him off, not wanting to talk about the curse. I hated thinking about it, hated thinking about the dark shadow over my life.“I understand you are holding out for your fated mate–”“Yet here you are planning on bringing

Amalthea's POVThe masked man didn't say a word, and walked past me without much of a glance as he walked out the door. What the hell just happened? One minute I thought he was going to touch me inappropriately or worse still kill me, and now, he was covering me up?What in the world is happening?“You got lucky,” the gruff man that brought me here muttered darkly. “If he didn't like you, you'd have begged for death–and it wouldn't come.”A shiver ran down my spine as his words sank in. I'm I really lucky as he said? Or would death have been a better option.I barely had time to process all that just happened when a knock came on the door, and Lara stepped in, her eyes buried to the ground as if afraid to meet my gaze.“These are for you,” Lara quietly handed me leggings, a plain top, boots and a jacket.I stared at the clothes for a few minutes, tempted to ask Lara questions, she looks like she'll have an idea of what I'm getting into, but with the way her eyes were on anywhere but o

  • Luna To Breeder   Chapter 11

Nicholson's POV I did keep to my words though. The moment I got into my office, I pulled out a brown glass of bourbon and poured myself a generous amount into a rocky glass cup. It was just a few millimeters shy from pouring over, so I had the excuse of sipping it half way through before filling it back up again. I looked up at her, surprised she didn't have any ‘drunk’ comment till now, even though I was doing everything I usually did to earn the name, she just wasn't having it. I rested my head back on my office chair and narrowed my eyes at her. “You are mad at something.” I said, making her know it wasn't a question but an actual statement. She seemed to be unfazed by my discovery. “I certainly do not look like a happy chap.” She tilted her head to the side, holding some kind of mild frown at me. I decided to empty my glass and bring another clean one from beneath my table—yes, I have glasses of shot laying around me, doesn't mean I am actually a drunk. It actually means I am a

  • Luna To Breeder   Chapter 10

Nicholson's POV “Yes…Alpha.”She answered, keeping her eye level down to her torso as she played with her fingers. She was obviously nervous and her face was tainted with a heavy blush of embarrassment after almost falling back on her head and getting herself into the ER again. “Amalthea…” I called her name. It wasn't a very common name, but it was befitting for someone like her. Her hair resembled the opening of a wild desert rose, if they were ever colored blond by chance. I realized I had nothing to say when she looked up at me with those heavy blue doe eyes. I was just finding out how her name tasted on my tongue. With nothing else to say, I let myself out of her room while she still had an expectant look on her face. I left the clinic completely and stood some feet away from the white and red building, looking at the vast path that led back to the training ground. The cars packed to my left were all glowing under the sun, showing just how intense the sun could get in the middl

  • Luna To Breeder   Chapter 9

Nicholson's POV Shutting the door behind me, I sighed. I peered my ears to the door to hear if she would say anything behind my back. Instead, I heard a strong sniff which delivered more than a punch to my heart. I bounced off the door like it suddenly caught on fire. The physician was at the end of the hall conversing with a nurse. I admonished the thought of asking him again for her condition after being the one who walked out on him in the first place. I decided the counter would be the next best place to go. I needed to make sure her card batch would be opened anyways. From what I have experienced about her, I had a feeling she would be visiting her frequently. I mean, she didn't even get to fight Mikayla. All she did was throw a punch—unsuccessfully. And she still ended up falling to the ground. Thinking that's the worse case scenario, she ended up falling and hurting herself after conceding defeat. I shook my head, wondering if this was the kind of woman I really wanted to use

  • Luna To Breeder   Chapter 8

Nicholson's POV “How is she?” Maybe it was the urgency in which I used to approach the physician but he took a step back into the room, before edging me out subtly so he could close the door behind me. He cracked a smile. “I heard she is your breeder. Well—” The physician started and I was suddenly struck by the nerve. My action made me appear even more desperate than I actually was. I was supposed to be an alpha. Besides, she was supposed to just be my breeder. No one cares about a breeder who isn't carrying their child yet. I felt embarrassed. To save myself from the embarrassment, I simply walked past the doctor into the hospital room just as he was about to tell me about her condition. I closed the door behind me, emptying my mind from the thoughts of the doctor and focused on the woman on the bed. She's awake. She isn't laying completely on her back. Instead, she is propped up on a pillow that gives her a higher elevation. She was sipping water from a plastic cup with both he
