I couldn't be more confused as I stared up at the white house with a picket fence around it. It was like I had been here before in another life. The two-story home looked too familiar, but I couldn't place why.

I had never been to this place before, yet I felt like I knew it intimately. I also felt a strange, magnetic pull as Kai led me further down the street, closer to the house.

The scent of flowers hit my nose, and my heart warmed.

This seemed like a lovely neighborhood.

In the background, I heard a child shout, "Ouch, Andrew! You hit my head!"

Another child laughed in response. "That's because you're so bad at catching the ball, dumbass! Worst goalie ever!"

Even though I had no idea who these children were, tears were forming in my eyes.

"Kai?" I asked in a shaky voice. "Why did you bring me here?"
