The next day after handling some work at the office, I drove down to Elder Marcus’ house. I arrived at his house with a purpose in every step. The grand façade of the house loomed before me, a testament to the man’s inflated ego and his self-fashioned reputation as a pillar of honor. Yet I knew better. Marcus was a snake in an elder's robes.

When the door opened, I was relieved to see Serena standing there alone. She wore a modest dress, her hands clasped nervously in front of her. Her eyes widened slightly when she recognized me, but she quickly composed herself, stepping aside to let me in.

“Alpha Damien,” she greeted with a weak smile and a bow. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”

“I need to speak with Elder Marcus,” I said, stepping into the richly decorated foyer. The walls were adorned with awards, photographs, and symbols of Marcus’ position. It was all for show.

“He’s not here,” Serena said, her voice soft. “He’s at the elder’s council meeting.”

I knew that already. She was reall

“No, I’ve never met him. I don’t even know his name.” I leaned back, my mind racing. Marcus was up to something, and now I had more questions than answers. But one thing was clear: I needed to act fast. “I’ll handle it,” I said, my tone firm. I stood up to leave. “I have to go now. If anything happens, anything at all, you send word to me immediately.” “Yes, Alpha,” she whispered, her gratitude evident in her tearful eyes. She stood up to see me off. “But please, if you truly want to help, find Lyra first. And... and her son.” “Her son?” I was wondering if she had heard something else. “We all knew Lyra was carrying a boy and must have given birth by now. Find them Alpha. Whatever you do, don’t let Marcus get to them first.” “Why do you say that?” “I’m not very sure. But if Marcus is planning something, I’m sure it involves both Lyra and that child.” Her words gave me pause. “Do you have any idea where she might be?” She shook her head. “No.” As I made to leave, I couldn’t s

  • Luna Lyra    A mother’s fear

I stepped out of the bedroom, my feet quiet on the floor as I moved toward the living room. The house seemed too still, as though it was holding its breath.“Who’s there?” I called, my voice was firmer this time.Silence.I hesitated, my instincts warning me that something wasn’t right. But after a moment, I shook my head. Maybe it was just the wind rattling the windows.I returned to the bedroom, shaking off the tension. I’d finish getting ready and head over to the Luna’s house. Everything was fine. But when I entered the nursery to check on my son, my heart stopped. The cot was empty.“Leo?” I whispered, panic gripping me. My feet carried me closer to the cot, my hands fumbling to pull back the blankets as if he could somehow be hiding underneath.“Leo!” I screamed, my voice echoing through the house. I spun around, my eyes scanning the room. He wasn’t here.Frantic, I tore through the nursery, yanking open the closet and looking under the furniture. My breaths came in sharp, shallo

LyraI followed her instructions, though my heart was pounding in my chest. My mind was a whirlwind of fear and doubt, but I forced myself to think of my son. His tiny hands, his soft giggles, the way he looked at me with so much trust and love.At first, there was nothing but darkness, a suffocating void. I felt panic rising, but the healer’s voice steadied me. “Keep going. Don’t give up. Reach for him.”Then, like a spark in the dark, I felt something—a faint, trembling connection.“I can feel him. He’s woken up. He’s… he’s scared,” I whispered, tears streaming down my face.“Good, Lyra. Stay with him. What else do you feel?”I concentrated harder, the connection growing stronger. Images began to form in my mind, a man holding Leo, his arms trembling as he carried my son.“He’s in the arms of a man,” I said, my voice rising. “Leo’s scared! He’s crying!”The room buzzed with energy, the guards exchanging determined looks.“Don’t worry Lyra,” the alpha told me. “We’ll get you son back

The man turned to fight me, his face twisted with desperation. “Stay back!” I told him, but he ignored me and drew a small, rusted blade from beneath his cloak.I smirked, his confidence unwavering. “You’re going to regret that.”I can easily take this piece of sh*t down at any monemnt. However I have to be conscious of the baby on my back. The fight was brutal but short. The man lunged with the knife, but I dodged easily, my training giving him the upper hand. I delivered a swift punch to the man’s gut, making him double over.“You think you can take a child from this pack and walk away?” I growled, landing another blow to the man’s jaw.The man swung the knife again, but I caught his wrist, twisting it until the blade clattered to the ground. With one final strike, I knocked him to the ground. As the man groaned, trying to crawl away, I heard the sound of boots pounding against the cobblestones. I turned to see a group of guards running toward him.“Over here!” Caleb shouted. The

LyraThe morning sun streamed through the windows, casting yellow light across the modest furniture of my home. I was arranging fresh flowers on the dining table when I heard the knock at the door. My heart skipped a beat as I wasn’t expecting anyone.I know there’s a guard at the door but after the kidnapping incident concerning Leo, I have been more careful. I set the vase down and asked Maria to go check who’s at the door while I went near the crib to stay close to Leo.My plan is to grab him and start running if it was an intruder at the door. Even though Jaxon and Calista have assured me that I am safe here, I can’t help the feeling that something can go wrong again.Maria came back to inform me that it is Beta Luke at the door and I heaved a sigh of relief. I went back to my seat and asked her to let him in.A moment later, the Beta walked in, his sharp features illuminated by the sunlight. He waved a hand to dismiss the guard who accompanied him, leaving the man stationed outsi

  • Luna Lyra   Finding the rogue

DamienThe winds howled like mournful spirits as i raced through the dense forest with my beta, Rowan, and a pack of skilled warriors at our side. I had heard reports of rogues breaching the northern borders, and I told Rowan to get a group of warriors and follow me.I would not allow such an affront to go unchallenged. My protective instincts burned like wildfire within me, urging me to act swiftly and decisively. The earlier I nip these attacks in the bud, the better. My plan going forward is to meet the rogues head on and kill every single one of them.By the time they suffer great losses in my hands they will stop bothering my pack. It seemed as they had a special fondness for my pack, I’m not sure other places get attacked this frequently. Anyway, I had revelares death for them all from now onwards. That was the focus of my discussion with Rowan two days ago and what we are going to do here today. Rowan had suggested that we try to find out why it seems that they are always atta

  • Luna Lyra   Did he talk?

DamienThe dungeon was a cold, damp chamber beneath the packhouse, lit by a single flickering lantern. I stood outside the cell, my arms crossed, glaring at the rogue who had shifted back into his human form. The man was wiry, with scars running across his face and arms. He sat slumped against the wall, his breathing ragged but his eyes defiant.I signaled for the guard to open the cell and I went in with Rowan standing just outside. I glared at the man who was looking at me without any fear in his eyes.“Who sent you?” I demanded, my tone like the crack of a whip. The rogue just looked at me and chuckled, a low, grating sound that only stoked my anger. He didn’t answer my question. This infuriated me and I can’t use my alpha aura on him because he is not a member of my pack.“I said who sent you to attack my people?” “You think I’ll talk?” the rogue sneered. “You have no idea what’s coming.”“You’re going to tell me everything,” I said coldly, stepping closer. “Or I’ll make you wish

Adol was almost on the surface as my eyes turned black. My guards, seeing what had happened, brought out their own weapons and faced them. The room was on the brink of chaos. Warriors from both sides faced off, tension crackling in the air. Weapons were drawn, and it felt like the smallest spark would ignite a deadly fight.Luke, now sitting on the floor, held up a hand. “Stop,” he said, his voice steady despite the blood on his face. “There’s no need for anyone to get hurt.”He slowly got to his feet, looking directly at me. “If you want me, then take me. But leave my men out of this.”His warriors protested, but he silenced them with a sharp look. “Stand down,” he commanded. “That’s an order.”Reluctantly, they obeyed, stepping back. I motioned to my guards, who moved in and grabbed Luke. As they dragged him away, he didn’t resist. He simply looked at me, his expression calm but unreadable.Rowan caught my arm as I turned to leave. “Damien, what is going on? You’re acting like a

Damien’s povThat was all the answer I needed. I smiled, came down from the bed, and pulled her toward the edge of the bed until her feet were on the ground. I didn’t know whether she could stand steady with the way her body was still shaking from the org*sm. So I held her to steady her, but surprisingly, she stood firm.I turn her around so she back is facing me.“Now, bend over, and let me fuck you,” I told her.She did and then raised her ass up for my full view. This was intoxicating; and my wolf groaned at the sight as I grabbed her ass and brought them closer to me. I released a moan as I put my cock into her hole and thrust.I thrust again and again as she moaned in pleasure. I put a hand in her hair, pulling her head back. My tongue traces her neck, flicking it over her mark. She moans as my teeth scrape the mark. I knew it was just as sensitive as her clit, and she couldn't get enough.I thrust up into her again, a mixture of pain and pleasure tears through my body, as I felt

Lyra’s povSeeing that Denise was not responding to my calls, I decided to touch her to bring her back to earth. I wonder what could make her to be so lost in thought like this. She nearly jumped out of her skin when my hand reached her arm. I apologized for startling her and asked if everything was okay with her. She tried to downplay it, but I knew there was something wrong.Anyway, I walked her back to the room since she said she would not be coming down for dinner. Maybe a good night's rest will help her, like she said. Yet, I wondered what could worry her like this. Denise is not a woman that things get to so easily. I sighed and turned around to head to my room.I believed she was lying when she said Luke looked like someone she knows. As far as I know, Luke never ventured into the human city for anything. But then, why was she interested in him? Could it be that he was the source of her worry? What a silly thought, I chide myself. They are meeting for the first time today, so

Damien pov I stood at the main entrance of the packhouse, my arms crossed as I waited for Marcus to arrive. Adol stirred uneasily, sensing the tension in the air. He had always been looking for an opportunity to tear at Marcus. ‘Relax, Adol,’ I tell him. ‘There is no need to fight. We are just here to talk.’‘Are you sure about that? I neither trust nor like that man.’‘Same with me. But that doesn’t mean we should fight him.’‘What if he wants to fight us? What if he wants to enter the house by force?’‘I won’t allow that to happen,’ I answered, stepping forward to intercept the elder as I just sighted him. Marcus approached, his brisk strides and sharp expression giving away his annoyance.“Damien,” Marcus greeted, his tone clipped. “My assistant informed me that there are visitors from Crewwood inside the packhouse. Is that true?”I gave a short nod to acknowledge him, my expression calm but firm. “Elder Marcus. It is true.”His eyes narrowed. “Then I want to see them. It’s not e

  • Luna Lyra   What will she do?

From what she told me, she was closer to the Luna of that pack. So, she might not know this guy that well. So what am I going to do now? Should I keep quiet and pretend that I didn’t just find my mate? A mate that I have been praying for all these while? Then what happens after tomorrow when they go home? Should I go back and talk to him about the mate bond? No, the mate bond is a strong pull, and the wolves that feel it are not able to resist it. You can try to resist it for a while, especially if you are a ranked member of a pack. Yeah, it comes with the training, but eventually, you have to do something about it. I think I should relax, go to bed, and wait for tomorrow to see what happens.I thought I was still walking towards my room, not knowing that I had stopped and was literally standing in one place. As I stood there, my thoughts kept drifting back to that man. The beta, my mate. I couldn’t shake the feeling that this was far from over. If he truly was my mate, we’d have to

Everyone is fine. He said it was a sort of flash attack, brief and short. They killed off the small number of wolves that came. But he just wanted me to inform me so we would be careful on our way back.”“Oh okay. That’s good of him,” Lyra said. “I hope you’ve been fed. We have enough food and drinks for all of you.”“Don’t worry, Lyra. We are good,” the man said, touching Lyra’s arm tenderly. If I didn't know better I would say he was flirting with my brother’s wife. I wonder if he is aware of what his scent is doing to my wolf. To me.Axel, my wolf, has been so sure as soon as we entered this room that he is the one. She has been prancing in my head, and I could feel her pushing forward, whispering, no, shouting the word: Mate. Axel wanted me to jump him as soon as we identified where the smell was coming from. But that would be rash. Besides I am the woman here and he is the man. Although since we are not entirely human, a woman can go to a man. I, for one, don’t have any reservati

Denise pov“Hello, little one,” I said warmly, kneeling to his level. “I’m your Aunt Denise. It’s so nice to finally meet you.”Leo giggled and reached out a tiny hand, and I felt a pang of emotion I hadn’t expected. He looks so much like my brother. I took his hand gently, marveling at how small it was.“Come, let me carry you a bit,” I said to Leo, stretching out my hand. To my pleasant surprise, he agreed. He stretched both of his hands, and I lifted him up. “Oh, you are quite a big boy.”He gave me a sweet, goofy smile as I bounced him around in my arms.“He’s beautiful, Lyra,” I said, glancing up at my sister-in-law. “You and Damien have every reason to be proud.”Lyra’s smile was radiant. “We are. He’s our little miracle.”“Now, you are making me want a pup of my own,” I smiled, still looking at Leo.“Oh, but you will have your own. And not just one but many pups. Because I know how much you love children, Denise.”I chuckled. She was right. “Well, only with my true mate.”“The

My smile tightened. “Thank you. It’s been an adjustment but a rewarding one.”Denise was a vision in power dressing. Her crisp white blouse, tailored to perfection, accentuated her sharp collarbones. A sleek black pencil skirt hugged her curves, while a sharp blazer completed the look, exuding an air of confidence and professionalism. Her hair, usually worn in loose waves, was pulled back into a polished chignon, showcasing her delicate features. A pair of classic pumps, their heels clicking confidently against the floor of the offic, completed the ensemble. She probably dressed this way in order to impress my father. Although, to her credit, Denise always knows how to dress up. Anywhere she is going, she knows how to look sharp. She knows just the right outfit that will complement her figures and for the event. I smiled faintly. Still, I am sure she picked this outfit today at the new firm, determined to make a lasting impression on not just my father but the people at …. The sile

I approached her, wrapping my arms gently around her waist.“What’s on your mind, love?” I asked softly. She leaned into me, her body relaxing slightly but her tone carrying her unease. “I was just thinking about the other room downstairs. Since I am going to stay here, who will use my former room?”My lips curled into a small smile. “That will be our son’s room. Leo deserves a space of his own, doesn’t he?”“Yes, he does,” she replied.“That’s why I told the nanny to convert your former room to become a nursery where our son will stay.”“You are getting my point. The room is downstairs while ours is upstairs.”“I don’t quite get you. Can you explain further?” I asked her.Lyra turned in my arms, her brows furrowed. “I don’t think it’s a good idea. I’d prefer it if he had a room close to our bedroom upstairs. That way, I can feel secure knowing he’s safe and within our reach, especially after…” S
