Adira’s POV Alpha Liam was adamant that the two of us ride alone in his SUV back to Crimson and I was beginning to understand why as my heat began to hit once again and I tried to cross my legs to reduce the heat building within my core. His scent of elderberry and pine began to fill all my senses as I closed my eyes trying to stop myself from wanting to mount him while he drove. “Adira.” Alpha Liam said, making me open my eyes to look at him. The pupils of his eyes were taken over, darkening his blues, as desire filled them for me. Biting my lower lip trying to keep a moan from slipping out, the vehicle veered off the road and into an opening within the woods. Within seconds, Alpha Liam turned the car off and unbuckled his seat belt as he turned and pulled me to him. Our lips met in a frenzy and his hands began to roam my body, like he was searching for a treasure as my skin heated instantly from his touch. As he pulled his lips from mine, he says, “Your scent is driving me m
Adira’s POV My parents’ house finally came into view and my heart began to race in anticipation of being inside it for the first time since I took off that morning not so long ago. Alpha Liam brought the vehicle to a stop a little down the road from it giving all his men room to park. The thought of facing them all after Alpha Liam and I’s quicky in the car, brought back the heat within my cheeks as I began to blush thinking about it. We waited in the car thankfully for a few minutes until Alpha Zane and his men pulled into the driveway. Taking that as our cue, we both opened our doors and stepped out of the vehicle and began to make our way towards the house as Nightshade’s warriors began to surround the outer perimeter of the house. If my father was inside there was no way that he would be able to get through the Nightshade warriors to escape. Alpha Liam and I moved behind Alpha Zane’s SUV as we waited for someone to answer the door for Alpha Zane and the two men that he now h
Adira’s POV It was only a short drive before I spotted my father’s car parked in front of elder James’ home. My stomach began to turn into knots knowing that in a few minutes I would be face to face with him. I know that the mission was to get the witch that poisoned Lyra but after the witch was found, I had plans on confronting my father for all the wrong he had done to me and make him pay for it. Alpha Liam brought the vehicle to a stop and I stared out the window at elder James’ house. “You can stay in the car if you want to and let Alpha Zane and I take care of this.” Alpha Liam said to me and I knew he was offering me this out because he knew how hard it was for me to face my father who had betrayed not only the pack but myself. I also knew that Alpha Liam had his own reasonings for wanting me to stay in the car too. Turning to look at him I gave him a half smile before I said, “No, I have to face him. If I stay in the car, I will never get closure to what he has done to me
Liam’s POV I had stood there long enough as Adira’s father played his little games. My eyes had moved several times to elder James, and I knew he had the information that we seek too. He looked like a wolf that was easy to break and I was going to take my chance to break him. When I said that Adira’s father wasn’t the only one that knew where to find the witch, I watched as elder James’s eyes widen and his heart began to beat fast, telling me that my assumption was right. Grabbing the elder by the neck, I slammed his head down on the desk and said to him, “You have two seconds to tell me where the witch is.” “James don’t tell him a thing.” Adira’s father said barely able to get the words out as his color started to turn blue from the lack of oxygen Alpha Zane was allowing him. “James, that’s one second.” I said as I tightened my hold on him. “Okay, okay. Her name is Ali.” Elder James says, but that isn’t enough information to find her. Putting more pressure on his neck, I ask, “
Adira’s POV My body felt like it was on fire and that I was going to internally combust if Alpha Liam didn’t take me soon. I had pushed myself all day wanting to find the witch that could cure Lyra and now that we had a name, my body gave in, and I needed Alpha Liam to take the pain within me away. My father was going to have to wait to get his punishment that I was eager to give him. I wanted to be in my best form when that wrath came for him and right now I felt weak as I held onto Alpha Liam with all the strength I had left in me to make it through the lobby and to the elevator. My heart skipped a beat when Alpha Liam told the manager that I was his wife and I guess in the human world that was what I would be labeled as, but it was wonderful to hear that come from his lips as it made me feel wanted by him. When we finally got to the elevator and the door shut, I let out a sigh of relief as my body went limp within Alpha Liam’s arms. Quickly, Alpha Liam scooped me up into his ar
Liam’s POV Adira’s body was beyond exhausted and I honestly had no clue how she had made it so long through the day. A normal she wolf wouldn’t have lasted an hour, but she pushed herself and I knew it was because of my sister. Gently, I laid her head onto a pillow and moved from the bed. Adira needed her rest, but I had work to do. Grabbing my pants, I pulled them on and headed to the living area as I left the door slightly ajar to the bedroom. I was sure Alpha Zane was still up and that he was working on a plan of how we were going to find this Ali within the Raven Coven. Knowing that it is shun upon for them to work with the wolves, I had to wonder if our best option was to contact the High Priestess of the Coven and explain to her what our situation was. There was no doubt in my mind that this Ali would be shunned from her Coven and handed over to us to do with as we pleased. Just as I was about to call Alpha Zane, the hotel phone in my room started to ring and I quickly moved
Adira’s POV Stella’s elixir felt like an energy drink on steroids as I drank it down. The pain within me from the heat dissipated and the feeling of being exhausted and tired washed away within seconds. I had to wonder what was exactly in the elixir that she had made for me, but I honestly didn’t care at this moment as I felt better then I had ever before and I now was fit to help with finding the witch named Ali to save Lyra. Alpha Zane had called Alpha Liam and had Lyra moved back to Nightshade for her own protection not knowing who was compromised within his pack. Blaze was entrusted as Lyra’s bodyguard until we returned with the witch that can cure her. Stella was a blessing and she had no clue how grateful I was to her, for not just the elixir that she had made for me, but also for joining us to help find the witch Ali. The kindness that Alpha Liam had shown her by allowing her to join Nightshade was more than repaid with kindness shown by Stella. As we all made our way out o
Liam’s POV The plan was put in place and Alpha Zane and one of his men went to the back door as his other man and I went to the front door. Adira and Stella lingered behind us as they were our last line of defense to capture Ali. As we made our way to our positions, I took one last look to make sure that Adira was okay before I proceeded. Noticing that I must have had the look of worry on my face, Adira said through our link, “I am fine. Let’s get the witch and let’s get back to Lyra.” Giving her a smile, I turned and moved towards the door. Just when I was about to grab the door handle, I heard Adira say in our link, “Stop!” and turned to see her and Stella running towards us. Stella pushed me aside when she got to me, and she raised her hands to the door. “The house has wards up. She must be expecting us.” Stella said as she began to chant something in what sounded like old Latin. I took a step back to give her room, as I watched in awe, as light came from her hands, and moved to
