Chapter 48

The door opened and a man and a woman walked out. They were bickering, but I could see the love they had for each other.

The man had dark brown hair that stopped at his shoulders and familiar blue eyes while the lady had beautiful black hair that flowed down to her waist. They haven't noticed us yet, but I felt content just watching them.

Selene had to clear her throat to get their attention.

“Selene—” she stopped as she saw me. The man looked up too to see what got her attention.

“bella?” He whispered.

“I doubt she goes by that” the lady whispered right back. I recognised the voice. I know that bickering. Tears gathered in my eyes as I watched them.

“Mum?”

“Hi baby,” she opened her arms and I ran into them. Her hands were the warmest I had ever been. She stroked my back and my hair and everywhere else she could touch before letting me go.

“Princess” my dad called and I went into his arms. I felt so safe like nothing could ever hurt me. “Daddy” I mumbled his chest and he hugged me ti
