Maverick's Pov

“Alright butterfly” I smiled at Ares as Deaton undo her chains “time to go”

The moon was almost at its highest peak. The little seer said it's almost time. I know her silly mate is coming and I plan to lead him on a little wild goose chase until I'm done with her.

“Where are you taking me?” she asked in fake bravado.

I like her confidence. She was afraid, but she refused to show anything other than that confidence to me. She has grown into herself. We could have gotten along in another life.

“Remember when I said you were gonna do something for me?” I asked sarcastically “well, now's the time. It's supposed to be a quid pro quo, but you kinda owe me”
