Chapter 20 (Part 1)

“Who was that? Who called you?” Vincent enters the living room holding a tulip glass with white wine in it.

Until he reaches my direction, standing in front of me, I am still staring into thin air. Still in shock, and still in a state that I couldn’t move pass by.

“Aurella?” He waves his hand in front of me in attempt to take my attention. But it wasn’t enough, I am replaying in my head what the caller just asked me.

The tone of his voice; the uncertainty that hides behind it.

I can’t seem to move on from it.

“Here’s your white wine if you want it.” Vincent places the tulip glass on top of the table before giving up on getting a response from me. He then sits on the couch, still wondering what type of force made me like this.

“Is it a big deal? Because you wouldn’t be like this if it isn’t a big deal.” This time, I finally have the ability to look at Vincent who is also looking at me in question.

“It’s none of your business, Vincent. If I were you, I wouldn’t ask.” I am back to giving
