CHAPTER SIX.

LUCAN'S POV.

As I watched her lose consciousness and almost fall down, I quickly ran to hold her. She looked so fragile and weak, maybe from crying too much. I already knew what had happened because I can sense and read her thoughts, something that is new to me because as a hybrid I didn't have the ability to sense and read the thoughts of humans but this lady in my arms was different. As far as she was near me, I could easily sense that she was thinking.

" Should we take her to the hospital?" My driver asked as I placed her inside the car. 

" No, go home" I knew she didn't need a doctor right now, she was under emotional and psychological stress. She just needed to rest and she will be okay.

My driver gave me a weird look before turning on the ignition, he knew I had never brought any lady to the house in all the years he has worked for me  except for Meredith who came  intervals and neither has any lady entered my car, not even Meredith.

" But Meredith ma'am is around" my driver said, I didn't blame him for making that Statement, she was one hell of a scary lady.

" Oscar, do as I say or come down and I will drive".

" Sorry boss" he replied and drove off.

When we got to the house, I quickly placed her on the sofa and turned off the AC. She was shivering slightly. It was because of the tin blouse she was wearing, how could someone wear so little in a cold place like Seattle.

My phone beeped and it was Xander.

" Yes, tell me".

" Boss, we found the hospital he was kept in and a certain Mrs Austin already claimed the body" came xander's voice from the other end of the line.

" Okay then, keep me Informed on any other development" I said and ended the call. The lady on the couch was still shivering so I went upstairs to get a blanket for her but on coming back she was already awake and Meredith was standing in front of her, both had different expressions on their faces.

" I didn't know you were back" Meredith said the moment I walked up to them.

" I just got back a few minutes ago" I replied, walking up to the sofa, i draped the blanket over her.

" Why did you bring me to your house?" She asked with a confused look on her face, her eyes darting from me to Meredith who had a sneer on her face.

" Did you prefer I left you on the streets?" I answered.

" Thank you very much Mr Lucan but I have to go now, I have things to take care of" she replied and quickly stood up to leave.

" I already know the hospital your dad is in, I can take you there".

" No thank you, your girlfriend doesn't look too pleased to see me here, I will manage on my own".

Before I could say anything, she already left. I wanted to follow her but someone held my hand…Meredith.

" Where are you going?" She asked in a pissed tone.

" Let go" I sneered, how dare she stop me.

" Is she the new toy you are playing with now?I remember she was the girl I saw here last week right?".

" It seems you have overstayed your welcome in my house, so I suggest you leave".

" Do you think you can get rid of me that easily, Lucan? I am your mate, the one destined for you. I do not have an issue with you having a toy to play with but let the toy not bother to take what's mine because I will not hesitate to do something to it" she threatened angrily.

I wanted to smack her face so hard but I had to control my anger for now.

" Meredith, I am a very busy man and my time is money" I replied and walked out of the house but by the time I got out, she was no longer in the compound, I concentrated and tried to find where she was but she had already gone far and I could only hear her heartbeat but not her thoughts.

" C'mon Lucan, don't be a fool" a voice sneered behind me and it was the queen bee, she wouldn't just let me rest.

" Oscar" I called loudly and my driver came running inside.

" Yes boss".

" Go to Meredith's room and get her belongings down here now" .

" You will do no such thing" she snapped. I didn't bother to answer her,I just kept looking at Oscar who quickly ran upstairs. He has witnessed my anger before and knew how it was.

" Are you throwing me out because you want that girl to come back?" She asked, I ignored her and walked to the sofa to sit.

" I will report you to the clan" she threatened again.

" Do whatever you want Meredith but just get out of my house" I answered lazily.

" You just met that girl and you are already behaving like this".

I looked at her in amazement, " I have never been good to you meredith, you are the one who keeps clinging onto me when you know I don't like you".

She scoffed, " Lucan, you can't get rid of me that easily. I do not know your relationship with that girl but if I find out what I shouldn't,I promise I will kill her before your very own eyes".

It happened so fast, Meredith found herself pinned to the wall and my hand was on her neck, ready to slash it.

" In your entire life Meredith, don't ever threaten me again" I sneered angrily. The beast inside of me was ready to burst out and devour her but I had to control it.

" I am not scared of you Lucan, let it not be what I am thinking though. You know the consequences of going against the law of the clan".

" You know the reason why I haven't killed you yet" saying that I let go of her neck and vanished into my room, I needed to cool down. I was very pissed.
