Chapter 44
An exhausted sigh escaped my lips as I stared lazily at my dull ceiling. It’s six in the morning and I’ve been awake for thirty minutes now but I couldn’t seem to bring myself out of the bed. I’m still fully occupied about our small fight last night. It was the last thought in my head before I fell asleep and also the first when I woke up this morning.
Pickled meowed and stretched her limbs beside me. The cat then jumped off the bed, then hopped back in not even five seconds later.
“Stupid cat,” I murmured groggily. I yawned and stretched my arms just like her. Good thing I was still able to get a proper sleep last night despite the horror film we’ve watched. And well, to be fair, I wasn’t really paying full attention to it.
I forcefully pushed to my feet and started getting ready for work. I was moving so slow and took nearly an hour in the shower so I panicked when I realized I’m running out of time.
