Chapter 100

The raindrops falling on the roof were the only sound heard in the house for long seconds. It was as if no one believed what they saw, Antony standing at the door, his clothes completely soaked, staring fixedly into Giovana’s eyes.

“Sir, Antony,” Tania shed tears at seeing him and was the first to break the silence. But after that, she couldn’t say anything more.

Antony took a step forward, but Giovana didn’t back down. For him, only she existed; nothing else around mattered. It seemed as though Giovana was stuck to the ground, completely motionless, unable to believe what she saw. Another step, and he was just a few centimeters from her, his face too close. Giovana could feel his breath touching her face while his wet clothes soaked the floor with constant drops that didn’t stop falling.
