After hearing Anderson say he had long wanted to catch him, Ryder grinned and asked, "Catch me for what?"

"Don't play dumb with me! You've helped Jill a few times. Do you think I'll spare you?" Anderson barked.

Ryder retorted, "Jill is my good friend. Of course, I'll help her."

Anderson was filled with jealousy as he questioned, "Your good friend? Why do I feel it's more than that? You stayed together with Jill for a while back then. She was staying at your place. Both of you were alone. Did nothing really happen?"

Ryder subconsciously thought of the night he spent with Jill. He did not feel anything anymore, but of course, he would not tell Anderson the truth. It would only make his situation worse otherwise.

Jill would also be in greater danger if she was in Anderson's hands.

"Since you think there's something between us, you wouldn't believe anything I say anyway," Ryder pointed out.
