Nearly a dozen people squeezed themselves into Frederic's room.

Although the room was spacious, the atmosphere grew stifling as the Shaws entered.

Faye watched as they eyed her as though she was a monster. She smiled but remained silent.

On the other hand, Cedric's face fell as he stood before Faye. "We'll know who's the joke here when the truth is revealed."

"Uncle Cedric, I won't suspect her credibility because you vouch for her.

"We've been trying to find a doctor to cure Grandpa. Only you insisted on seeking Dr. Connor. By right, we should believe you and this young doctor here.

"But," he paused, "we've only heard about such methods on TV, and there's no saying if it really exists.

"Even if it does, Grandpa has never wronged anyone who uses such sinister stuff.

"The Shaw family has always been upright. Why will they target us?"
