Two red and white ambulances whose loud unrelenting engines and sirens tore apart the natural serenity a cold, wet night brought along rushed with a mad haste into NYC teaching hospital with his emergency horns blaring deafeningly like it would knock off death till they got to the hospital.
As the rescue vans pulled up in front of the cream and pink building, four storeys tall, splendidly constructed and very very well illuminated hospital that was kept in solitary from the hustle and bustle of the outside world, seven nurses of different ranks hurried out to meet the casualties of a ghastly motor accident; a first-aid kit held tightly in one of them's hand.
Stretchers came along less than thirty seconds after. Every living organism was in an hysteria as they all worked hand in hand to save the lives of the badly battered victims. The only substances that paid no attention were the yellow and pitch Begonia flowers that danced with th
The atmosphere was dark and thick with smoke and it kept us from seeing the pale blue and white fluffy clouds. We were lucky!Few feet after my limp body and Maisie's drained frame were cautiously taken out of the dented Landrover, chummy dark fumes escaped from the bonnet that had an head-to-head contact with the Kia Forte. After about a minute of painstaking and blood letting footsteps into the woods; away from all that had happened by folks whom I later realized were Russel and Sheryl, there was a massive amount of heat energy that I felt on my contused skin.I had an odd notion about what it was but I was so drained I couldn't go through the stress of turning my neck for a quick glance at least, to satisfy my curiosity. My left, nerveless arm from where blood oozed ceaselessly was wrapped round Russel who didn't seem to mind a bit. He appeared pure.Mais
Sheryl and Russel knew every shrub, every single green trees, thickets, plants, weeds, briers, flowers and boscage and that was a good thing on the short run as we ran as fast we could away from the cops - barely escaping with Sheryl. What I meant by moving as fast as we could was actually extremely slow and almost an insignificant increment compared to how we well we moved before the cops came.Sheryl's cuffs were still on her and they made her unable to do anything but point out shortcuts with extreme fatigue.Maisie was conscious again thanks to the ear piercing sounds of gunshots that filled the air minutes ago but she could barely speak or do anything other than stare and breath and bleed into Russel's shirt as we ran up, down and round the brown, dry earthen clumps, popped small, feeble branches under our weight and had occasional stops to get the right direction to Sheryl
Sal couldn't keep the billions of thoughts coursing through his head from crashing against each other like immense waves of the Pacific contending for the most superior. What if he had come to kill his mum? He could do that in mere seconds.Or maybe he really did have a loved one, but was meeting him or rather, bumping into him a coincidence?Besides his aura was too noxious for him to love or have a family. How could he be capable of loving when he'd literally machinated with other sick fellows into making Sal blow off a part of Future Tech? No! He definitely came for something else.Perhaps he had come to see the doctor - he definitely needed one.Sal was upset already and it didn't make him better that a sick b*stard was smiling down at him.Mer noticed the swift

Sal's earpod blasted Lewis Capaldi's "Someone you loved" as he plopped down on his bed with a deep sigh. His dad had promised to stop by Care Bare Hospital on his way home but for that moment, Sal had the magnificent manor and all it's rooms and everything in it to himself. He sat up on his bed after a few minutes apparently restless, trying to figure out what he had to do.The businessman hadn't given him any instructions yet and it was killing him.Everywhere was quiet, too quiet and Sal thought he saw a shadow slink in the corner with his cornea when he'd pulled apart the drapes to let the sun reach in.Hallucinations.He heard the sound of broken glass somewhere in the house and that startled him.As much as he tried to believe everything was right, he knew things weren't.He better stop this mind games.Sal t
The entire universe slackened the moment Russel stepped out into the dreary street. To be more precise, every speck of atom in the globe stood still. From the wind that blew through the dull brown draperies to the flicks of light that found their way into the dark room like the bright red pinpoints of a sniper to even the queer hoots of bats that bath the starless night. They all came to a halt making every second seem like five.Deep down in us, we knew we couldn't just run off leaving Russel behind despite his rather stern warning. Even if he died, we'd have to know it or even worse, die, too.We were in dread, utmost apprehension precisely, and our faces had turned cloudy white.Maisie stood close to Sheryl who was caressing her wrists with the other hand - their shoulders nudging confidence into the other in the pitch black room.I stood about three feet from them, cl
The next two days were conventional. We shared secrets, bonded, cracked jokes, pulled out several pranks on each other - not too nasty of course, had as little illumination as possible to keep Maisie stable, stole hot little smooches with Maisie when the others weren't looking, for privacy's sake, buried Buster - their now late golden retriever, and ate pizza, too much of it but amidst all this, Russel was behaving queer. Was it about two nights ago?The blue sky where bats meandered around at dusk wept for hours too long the previous night like it was lubricating the way and bringing us to our doom faster, the businessman and Sal.About them...**Dusk's cloak was casted off as the golden sun gave a bright colour to the clouds and meadows and mountains, valleys, too. It bath all things within reach of its reddening beauty with yellow light, drying up the fields and
It was Monday, three days after Leonard was nowhere to be found that Maisie was void of enthusiasm and entirely depressed. She still didn't have any idea where to start looking for her five year old brother. It was too sudden; a moment she was talking to him, planning to amuse him with a tech skate and even grab a coffee before heading home, and the next moment, she was wailing and searching about for him.Her parents didn't have any idea though, any time they wanted to talk to their baby - and his friend, Micheal - Amaya offered to do it, went up to her room then came down with false tales that ate her up with remorse about how Leonard was enjoying Michael's place and how they'd played peekaboo or tic tac toe.Amaya took the sticky note with her everywhere she went - the kitchen, bathroom and virtually everywhere. The sticky note's content had:"THE SHIP THAT WILL NOT OBEY THE HELM WILL HAVE TO OBEY THE ROCKS", written in
