Once the call dropped, I turned to head back inside the restaurant. I had been outside for quite some time talking on the phone with Ryan. The cold air touched my skin again, cutting like a sharp knife against my cheeks. The chilly weather had been abruptly interrupted by the warm coziness of the restaurant as soon as I crossed the door.

Elliot remained calm and composed, sitting at the table elegantly enjoying his dinner with irresistible charm. Even his simplest actions were the sexiest thing for me to witness. I felt as if the whole world paused to watch, while I restrained myself, desiring and longing. Torturing my mind with the thought that I could fulfill this desire but lacked the courage to kick Ryan to the curb.
