110 - Important conversation

When I return to my office, she's still there, sipping her cappuccino and squinting at me suspiciously. "Where did you go?" she says softly.

"Sorting out some things," I reply, grabbing the papers from the desk. She keeps staring at me with narrowed eyes. "Stay here with me, please? I'm almost done, and then we can grab lunch."

She huffs but stays seated beside me. I smile at her and analyze the remaining files in my hand, inputting the information into the hospital tablet. Shortly after, I heard a light knock on the door, and I knew it was John. As soon as he and Elliot walk through the door, I feel Bethany's eyes burning into me through my skin.

"Do you need my opinion on a case, Dr. Foster?" John says, casually shifting his gaze from Bethany to me.

"It's Bethany who needs to talk to you," I say, and he looks at me, bewildered.

"Elliot said it was a clinical opinion," he says, glancing at his friend, who raises his hands in surrender.
