Chapter 75

Laurence was in the midst of a meeting when he received the message. There was a ping on his phone, but he ignored it. Everyone else pretended not to have heard anything. Obviously, nobody would question the president about it, and they continued to present the proposal as if nothing had happened.

No one dared to be at ease during the meeting. After the meeting ended, their backs were all wet from sweating out of nervousness. Their sweat-soaked shirts stuck to their backs making them sticky and uncomfortable. Nobody could tell if Laurence was satisfied with the proposal today. They peeked at him cautiously, but he remained calm and collected without even batting an eyelid. Laurence tapped his fingers rhythmically on the table.

After a moment, he ordered, “Meeting dismissed.”
