Chapter seventy-three

“Sorry I didn’t get to you. When you can call me, I already miss you”.

And I called, but he didn’t pick up for the thousandth time.

I walked through the city streets. It was still very early, and the sun was passable. I had nowhere to go, but I didn’t want to go home right then either, not with Claudio there, doubting my innocence after everything I’d done to help him. The problem was that I was physically and emotionally drained. I couldn’t take any more chaos that would ruin my life even more.

As I was looking for a place where I could sit and think, my cell phone rang. For a moment, I wished it was Luke, but it wasn’t. At that moment, I felt like there was no way my relationship with him was going to work out like that. Luke lived far away, and I’m not talking about physical space, but sentimental, too.
