Two Hundred and fifty

CHAPTER 250

"Same pattern, different place. What is Ace doing all this for?"

Noel and Nicholas had just returned from the hospital. They had a long discussion with Dr. Harris about the deaths of Maya and her two sons, Ben and Bobi. Ben was a boy who had a history of a rare disease, which was the same disease that Jill's daughter had.

Noel swiveled his chair right and left, while Nicholas continued to massage his head in frustration. "You need to relax a little, Nick. This is a good lead. We finally know that Ace is the prime suspect in Jason and Jill's case. Two cases unfolded at once. We just need to catch Ace and make him reveal everything, we just need to add his testimony so he can rot in jail. You should be happy."

"But Ace wasn't proven to be involved with the death of Alicia's parents, Noel!"

Noel snorted, he looked at Nicholas in disbelief. "You're angry because Ace wasn't proven to have killed Alicia's parents? That's it?"

"This is a puzzle I can't solve, Noel. It's making my head almost explode!"

As the lanky man tapped his fingers on the surface of the table, Noel looked thoughtful. He was considering an excuse to make Nicholas feel a little calmer. Because seeing Nicholas constantly pacing and fidgeting also made Noel uncomfortable.

"You know that Mrs. Michelle's company donates to children's hospitals, that might be a connection they have. We never know." Noel pointed at Nicholas. "Maybe, Michelle's killer is someone who is jealous of her wealth and how she donates all the proceeds of charity events to children."

"Hey, are you crazy? Who would be jealous of donated money?"

Noel rolled her eyes lazily. "You never go to billionaire charity events, do you? That donation is almost equal to one year of your salary! It's a fantastic amount! That's why the CEO of Golden Group, aka Ace's father, wants to invite a collab. Michelle's company has great branding value, that's why many billionaires and celebrities want to make donations and entrust Alpha Company as their platform for donations. These people not only believe in the company, but in Michelle and Edward. There are values that make their name strong and trusted."

After listening to Noel's explanation, Nicholas began to calm down a little. He sat back down behind his desk and squinted. Thinking, Nicholas said, "What do you mean, we have to narrow down the people who want to work with Michelle as the prime suspect in this gas explosion case?"

"That is possible. And, you can add people outside of work, if they have suspicious motives or goals." Noel immediately pointed at Nicholas. "Wilson is the first person you should suspect, because he has a bad experience in business dealings. A rejection and a lowered self-esteem, that's a strong motive to blame Wilson."

"We can add Anna Parker to the second list of suspects, she has access to Michelle's private home, when everyone else can't!" added Nicholas, his voice enthusiastic. "She's the personal secretary, her relationship with Michelle is closer than Michelle and Christine, the company's deputy CEO. At the company meeting next week, Christine will be the interim CEO. Perhaps we should include Christine?"

Noel's eyebrows furrowed deeply, "Have you met Christine?"

"Alicia told me everything."

Nicholas and Noel exchanged glances. They were caught up in their own thoughts.

"Perhaps we can include Christine's name, if the woman knows that she will replace Madame Michelle, in case Madame Michelle dies." Noel shrugged her shoulders. "I still can't see the connection between Ace and Mistress Michelle, unless Ace was ordered by her father to kill Mistress Michelle. That would make sense. But so far, we can only surmise that Madame Michelle's death is related to her business at Alpha Company."

"Madame Michelle was known to be generous, there's no reason to hate her."

Noel leaned forward, his eyes narrowed in contemplation. "Maybe it's not about hating Michelle personally, Nick. Sometimes, it's about hating what she represents - success, wealth, and influence. All of those are powerful motivators for some evil intentions."

Nicholas nodded, absorbing Noel's insights. "True, but we need more than just speculation. We need concrete evidence to link Ace to Michelle's death. We need to dig deeper into Ace's connections, see if there's a connection to someone who has a grudge against Michelle."

Noel raised one eyebrow. "But why are you insisting that Michelle's killer is Ace? It could be anyone else, the evidence speaks for us, Nick."

But Nicholas rejected that opinion. He shook his head and pointed his index finger forward. "No, no, no. Ace must have something to do with Michelle's death."

With one audible sigh, Noel was completely resigned. "Never mind, we should just focus on finding Ace. You can accuse him directly when you find him."

"I'm not accusing him, I'm just speculating." Nicholas raised his voice, not accepting Noel's statement.

"Very specific speculation, um?" Noel raised his eyebrows, giving Nicholas a sarcastic look. Noel then stood up. "I'll go check on Hendrick. He must have heard this information from Peter, I'll check his response."

"Yes, you're right. Keep an eye on Hendrick. Secure all evidence, don't let Hendrick manipulate him," Nicholas pleaded, and Noel just nodded his head obediently.

Although they were very close, Nicholas was still a level up. Nicholas was already the head of the police force. And Noel had to submit to Nicholas' orders.

While Noel went to meet Peter and Hendrick at their table, Nicholas could only watch from his transparent room. Nicholas also didn't expect that Hendrick would betray him like this.

"However, what is the reason Hendrick is working for Ace? Ace is imprisoned and has no money, is Hendrick committing all these crimes not because of money?"

"That's a question we have to find the answer to. Are you going to get Hendrick out now? We have all the evidence.

Nicholas shook his head slowly, he said, "I have to get him to take me to Ace, before he is expelled from the police force."
