The next morning, as I tussled in my bed, my legs wide apart, I slowly opened my eyes. I caught a glimpse of a male figure sitting by my bed, staring at me. Blinking to clear my vision, I saw Thomas’s face. I had to be dreaming. I squeezed my eyes shut and shifted, my butt up in the air, trying to shake off the illusion. But when I opened my eyes again, he was still there, a grin on his face.

“Good morning,” he said, his voice cheerful.

“Morning,” I replied groggily. I glanced at my alarm clock and was shocked to see it was past 10 AM. I scrambled up. “How did you get in here?”

“Your mom let me in,” he responded casually.

I sighed. “You have to go back to the living room while I get ready for our day together.”
