Three Years Ago

Simon

Imagining my cold heart turning warm seemed impossible till Lily Stack came into my life six months ago. From the moment she walked into my office, hair dripping wet and clothes drenched, seeking an internship placement, she had my attention.

The spark in her eyes was something I couldn’t resist. I saw in her eyes the fire I had in mine five years ago when I started Siwes Ltd. Hers was filled with a desire for more and mine with a drive for survival. If I were to break out from the Weston dynasty, I had to build my own. Hardwork, sacrifice, determination had brought me this far. Sitting as CEO of a financial service company that operated globally and had amassed a worth of over $30 billion dollars in just five years of its inception. In all that time, I had no interest in anything else until her beautiful brown eyes bore into mine. I started off only intrigued, wanting to know more about her. Unwilling to let her out of my sight, I handed her a job by my side. What came next wasn’t a part of my plan. I didn’t envisage that she’d score my heart.

Walking into my office with a completed report or task and I’d take a look at it or assign a new task had become our usual routine. We’d been working closely together, and I ensured it. I wasn’t about to miss spending time with the young woman who intrigued me.

My eyes followed her as she came into my officeholding two files, one red and one blue. She wore a white shirt tucked into her black pants, looking effortlessly beautiful.

"Mr. Miller," she began, her voice confident, "I’ve completed the performance report based on the KPIs," she said, lifting the red file slightly. "And I’ve also prepared the financial report for the last three months," she continued, raising the blue file.

I knew I should be paying attention to her words, but all I could see was the way her lips moved, the way her eyes sparkled with interest. She was standing right in front of me, yet I felt as if I were in another world, one with an angel. Her beauty was nothing short of angelic. In the past months she had worked with me, I had spent most of the time we’ve had together fighting my attraction for her. Primarily because I’m not the type of man who’d engage in an office romance. Mixing business with pleasure wasn’t my forte; I liked to keep my work and private life separate. More importantly, she was a distraction. One I gave a pep talk to myself every morning to ignore.

"Mr. Miller?" she repeated, a little more firmly this time, pulling me out of my thoughts. We had agreed she’d call me by my surname to keep it professional. Moving to Canada, it seemed fitting to take my mother’s maiden name since I was touring my own path. Of course, she didn’t know this. No one here knew me as a Weston and I had to keep it that way.

I blinked, shaking my head slightly to clear it. "Yes, of course. Sorry," I said, reaching out to take the files from her hands. Our fingers brushed, and I felt a jolt of electricity. I could tell she noticed the slight hesitation in my grip.

"Thank you Lily," I added, trying to steady my voice. "Let’s review these together." She took a seat across me. Her presence drew me in, making it difficult to concentrate on anything else. Her eyes met mine, and for a moment, I was completely lost in them.

She must have grown tired of me by now and all my mixed signals. She had made it evidently clear to me that she had fallen for me. I still remember the embarrassed look she wore when I told her it’d be better we keep things professional.

I opened the red file, forcing myself to focus on the contents. "Good job Lily, you delivered on such short notice, very efficient," I said. But even as I began to discuss the performance metrics, her standing there, staring at me with those eyes, It was going to be hard to concentrate.

I abruptly closed the files, stood up from my seat, and began moving closer to her.

"Sir, you're coming closer," she said, her eyes fixed on me.

"Yes, I am," I replied, but that didn't stop me. I took slow, deliberate steps, drawing nearer. I wanted to keep it professional yet I desperately wanted her.

"Si," she whispered as I was just inches away. She called me by my first name this time, and only she called me Si and I liked it. My self-control was hanging by a thread. She was an irresistible temptation, and I halted, staring into her eyes.

"We promised we’d try to remain professional but you're giving me the look," she said.

"What look?" I tilted my face, waiting for her to tell me what I already knew.

"The look you give me when you're tempted to kiss me but end up running away," she said, biting her lip.

Lily“Thomas, let’s talk things through,” I said, following him as he dashed down the stairs. “Please… wait.”He ignored me, moving even faster until he reached the door, swung it open, and headed for his car.“Thomas, where are you going? I don’t think you should drive like this—you’re upset.”My words fell on deaf ears as he got into his car and sped off. I pulled a chunk of hair away from my face, feeling upset. How could he just leave like that? Maybe it’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have mentioned Simon. I should have met Tom for lunch at work and come straight home afterward. I messed up. I can’t really blame him.I turned around to head back inside and saw Lizzy. She looked at me with judgmental eyes, like I’d done something wrong. She had caught Simon and me kissing in the garden, and now she must think I’m a bad wife, cheating on Tom with his brother.“Are you okay, Mrs. Lily?” she managed to ask, looking at me with concern.“I’ll be fine, Lizzy,” I muttered as I rushed back in

Lily “Tom,” I stammered, unsure of how to explain. I wasn’t sure if Thomas was going to believe anything I said, but I had to try.“With Simon, I presume,” Thomas spat, barely containing his rage. He was furious. The thought of Simon and me together clearly irked him. Maybe it was jealousy, or the fact that a part of him knew Simon and I had something beyond a normal friendship.“Yes. We worked together,” I replied, trying to stay calm, though his anger made it hard to breathe. He moved closer, his eyes locked on mine, filled with an intensity that made my stomach twist in fear. “Didn’t I tell you not to work with Simon?” he repeated, his voice rising.“I know you did,” I began, my voice shaky. “But I told you, I couldn’t just not show up. I need to speak to Geoffrey first.”“Then what are you waiting for?” he shouted, slamming the bathroom door behind me. I flinched, my body reacting to the sudden noise. My heart pounded in my chest. He stepped closer, pointing a finger at me. “Lily

  • Love in Chaos: Falling For My Billonaire Husband’s Brother   CHAPTER 83: TENSION IN THE RESTAURANT

Lily Simon’s gaze was fixed on me. “Answer the call, Lily, or Tom will get even more suspicious.”I reluctantly picked up the phone. Before I could even say hello, Thomas’s voice blared through the speaker. “I don’t care what the hell you’re doing, I want you home now!” The call abruptly ended, leaving me staring at my phone in shock. For a few seconds, I was stunned. I hadn’t expected that reaction. My heart raced, not from fear of him, but from the relief that he wasn’t here. If Tom had found Simon and me having dinner together, especially after I refused to go home with him, it would have been a disaster. I exhaled slowly, thankful I didn’t have to face that mess. But now I had another problem—Simon’s eyes were locked on me.“What did he say?” Simon asked, curious.“He wants me home,” I muttered, pushing my chair back, ready to leave.“Wait.” Simon reached for my hand, and when his fingers wrapped around mine, a spark shot through me. I froze, my hand still under his warm grasp. I

Lily“I don’t know what you mean,” I said, my voice firmer than before.“Your coldness toward me seems more personal than professional.”Simon didn’t immediately respond, but his gaze remained on me, making the silence stretch longer than I was comfortable with. I couldn’t shake the feeling that he was pushing my buttons on purpose, though I didn’t have the energy to figure out why.“Look, Simon, I’m already having a pretty bad day. Please don’t make it any worse,” I continued, exhaling deeply. My hands tightened around the paper in front of me. I braced myself for a sarcastic response or some come back, but instead, he just returned to his work, ignoring the tension. Maybe that was for the best. I wasn’t in the mood for an argument, even though I felt like I could bite his head off. He’s probably number two on my list of enemies, with Jessica holding the permanent top spot. I forced myself to concentrate again. Then, my phone beeped, pulling my attention away from the file. I glance

  • Love in Chaos: Falling For My Billonaire Husband’s Brother   CHAPTER 81: WORKING WITH SIMON

LilyJessica let out a cold, arrogant smile, her eyes narrowing. “Make sure you never forget what team you’re on,” she whispered, stepping back just enough to let me open the door again. Typical of Jessica, always giving me those condescending smiles and asking pointed questions about my marriage to Thomas, as if daring me to admit how miserable I was. It was exhausting. I felt trapped in a life I couldn’t escape.I rolled my eyes, refusing to let her words get under my skin. She always had a way of making me feel like I didn’t belong, like I was an outsider in my own marriage. But I wasn’t about to give her the satisfaction of seeing me rattled. Not today.I slid into the backseat of the car, slamming the door shut behind me, and glanced out the window as we pulled away. Jessica stood there for a moment longer, watching the car disappear down the road. I have no idea what she thinks I’ve done to her to make her detest me the way she does.As we drove toward the office, I couldn’t hel

  • Love in Chaos: Falling For My Billonaire Husband’s Brother   CHAPTER 80: NOT MY DREAM

LilyTom’s voice rang in my head all morning as I stood in front of the mirror, the black gown I had chosen laid across the bed. It was simple but elegant, the kind of dress I felt comfortable in. But of course, I was certain that It wouldn’t be good enough for Thomas.“I expect you to tell Simon today that you won’t be working with him,” he said, his tone intimidating as he paced across the room.“I have to inform Geoffrey first,” I replied calmly, knowing this conversation would go nowhere good. “I can’t just quit without speaking to him. He might feel disrespected if I stopped without saying anything.”Thomas scoffed, his eyes narrowing as they fell on the black dress. He crossed the room in a few long strides, eyeing the fabric like it offended him. “Wear a bright color.”I tensed, my fingers gripping the sides of the dressing table. “Thomas, this is what I want to wear. It’s fine.”His eyes flashed with irritation. “You should wear this instead,” he said, pulling out a bright red
